    Here's your first challenge.


    Growing up in the town of pallet, our three heroes all decided to go on a Pokemon Journey at the same time, so they made their way to professor Oak's lab. Greeting the professor, they all had a short but informative conversation with Oak about the nature of Pokemon training, and Oak talked to them about taking the Pokemon League Challenge. They each received a Pokemon from the professor, and some pokeballs to begin their journey. On their way out, they were stopped by Oak's grandson, Gary.

    "Hey, I challenge all three of you to a Pokemon match!" Gary Oak said. "I bet you I can defeat all of you!"

    Naturally, our heroes accepted his challenge.

    "Come on out, Zorua!" Gary called, throwing his Pokeball. Out of the Pokeball came the Dark Fox Pokemon, who looked ready to fight.

  • Oh, and @DarthWolf has asked me to clarify the idling policy.

    Most updates will be posted as soon as I am able after all current players have made a move. You have up to 48 hours after I post an update to post your move(down from 72) Should you fail to post a move, and respond to my nudges, all your active Pokemon will be dealt maximum damage and you will be eliminated, opening the door for someone else.

    On the subject of active pokemon, You are able to carry up to 3 pokemon on you, but additional pokemon are not lost. You have the choice to send additional pokemon (or an active one) to your PC, which you can access as long as you are in a town (but they can't be used to save you from defeat). Inactive pokemon also gain XP when you defeat enemies.

    Being defeated in certain battles, like this one, will not result in elimination. I should have clarified this earlier, I apologise.

  • I will assume Acrobatic Crobat would agree with you two, so we'll move on.

    Our heroes head north to Pewter City, home of the first gym of the Pokemon league. Here, they have a few options:

    1. Head east towards Mount Moon
    2. Head south to Viridian Forest.
    3. Buy items from the PokeMart

    4. Challenging the Pokemon Gym

    Warning: Challenging a gym involves at least two or three separate fights, and your pokemon cannot regenerate health between battles in a gym. You also cannot leave a gym once you have challenged it until you are victorious or defeated.

    Being defeated in a gym will not trigger the elimination system, but you will lose a good deal of money and may lose friendship with your pokemon.

    Gym leaders are elite trainers, this means after weakness and resistance, damage against them is halved and damage they do is doubled.

    Victory against a gym leader will award items or other stuff that are not typically available from other types of battles. Including boosted experience.

  • The team start to move off when Lone_Garurumon realises that Rio isn't following. The Aura Pokémon was staring off into the distance. As Lone_Garurumon made his way back to check on her, Rio took off down the dark hall and disappeared into the darkness.

    You have activated Encounter Mode.

    Walking Pokemon each have a chance to activate encounter mode. It is a rather small chance, in the low single digits... and can be triggered from any non-combat action.

    What happens once a walking Pokemon has triggered encounter mode, is that they will become unresponsive, and will cancel out the action you have chosen.

    You will be given a choice once encounter mode is activated, whether to follow your walking Pokemon and begin the encounter, or ignore them and continue with the action you have chosen. If you choose to ignore them, they will be unavailable for a short period of time, before returning to you.

    So what is an encounter, you ask?

    An encounter is a series of events, such as wild pokemon battles or trainer battles, based around a story event. They are generally rich in rewards, but also high in risk, as you can't flee from or end an encounter once you have began.

    It depends on the encounter, but some encounters will completely heal your pokemon before and/or after the encounter (But not during)

    If you wish to know more, feel free to ask questions.

  • AE, does that rule count if only some ppl are defeated but the battle is won in the end? Or would the ppl defeated be out of the game?
    I'm no longer using the elimination system (Remind me to fix the OP later) as I really hate it... I want to encourage you guys to experiment, and try try again.

    So that in mind, if ALL player pokemon are defeated, you will get experience from any enemies you defeated in the current match then return to the pokemon centre. (This match I am not tracking who was fainted at the time of fainting an enemy, so all pokemon will get the experience)

    If you guys win with... let's say 1 pokemon left that isn't Coeus, in order to restore your other pokemon, you will need to trek back to the pokemon centre.

    Of course, Coeus can just teleport if they are the one that is left.

    I still have to formally type this up, but here's what is going to be happening.

    First is experience. As you may have noticed, you guys are gaining experience WAY too fast. I mean, you're at the 3rd gym and you're pushing level 50 (Rio is level 46). I don't plan to take any experience or levels away from you, but I do plan to significantly reduce your experience intake. At the moment, I'm thinking of dividing the experience gains on the info site by 4.

    Stats. New stats are coming into play. Each pokemon is going to be receiving a speed stat. Except for priority changing moves, pokemon will now move based on speed. This speed stat will come from that pokemon's base speed stat on bulbapedia.
    Moves are going to be getting an accuracy stat. A pokemon's accuracy stat will be used as a modifier (And will usually be temporary). This means both your moves and the opponents moves have a chance to miss unless they have an accuracy of 100.

    Champion class. It's been in the opening post for a while, but it's not really defined. A champion class pokemon is a pokemon with a lot of special modifiers, some might even class as unfair. A champion pokemon has a chance (Depending on speed stat) to move more than once per turn, and may have other modifiers that fall outside the realm of normal battle rules. They also have the same damage enhancing and reduction traits as elites.
    Don't worry, you will rarely see them. Right now, the only guaranteed place to find champions is as the boss in Eevee's house of madness.

    Your teams have each been expanded to 6 pokemon. Choose carefully though, as enemy maximum team sizes are determined based on your team size. Minimum max enemy team size is 12, so you won't benefit from having just one pokemon each... but they can go as high as 24 pokemon
    Note that this is the MAXIMUM number of pokemon an enemy team may have... and most enemy teams won't even come close to having their maximum number of pokemon.
    You also need to take HMs into account. They are required to traverse Kanto, and you cannot cross a water route without a pokemon that knows surf (example). (HMs also cannot be forgotten except at a move deleter, and cannot be traded (See below))

    Pokemon on routes. Previously, I was pretty open with what pokemon appear on routes. Due to the game change I will list as the bottom of this post, the pokemon on your routes have changed and are a lot stricter.

    Experience boosting: Pokemon below a certain level will receive boosted experience. Right now I'm thinking pokemon more than 10 levels below your average level pokemon will receive 4x experience (current rates)

    Cross game stuff.
    LG has known about this for a while, but I intend to start a second DtB very shortly. This game will take place in Galar, and will revolve around dynamaxing pokemon. (While yours takes place in Kanto and revolves around Mega Pokemon)
    But these games are not isolated. You will be able to trade pokemon cross games, and even battle with the other games' players. (All Pokemon will be set to level 50 for cross-game battles, and there may be rewards involved)
    I haven't quite nailed down what Pokemon you will find in each of the games, but it may be necessary to trade between games for certain pokemon.

    I have a feeling I have forgotten something, but I am open to feedback regarding all these changes. Let me know what you think.

    EDIT: Also, would you guys like a discord server where you can discuss cross game trades, and also have private channels where you can discuss cross game battle strategy, submit moves, etc?
    EDIT2: Pokemon that do not participate in a battle will get a reduced experience. I haven't nailed down how reduced yet, as I need to see what the standard XP looks like when reduced.

    Indeed, it's been... what? two months now. Between health issues, and other work, it's been slow but I believe DtB is ready to return. I admit that there is still some things that need to be done, such as converting your pokemon over to the new format and stat system but I have decided that I can do that as they are sent out. So for a short while, you may have pokemon in the old system but I'll update those as soon as possible or as needed.

    I promise you that I've probably forgotten something important, so feel free to poke me if I've missed something.
