“I need to get you to a Pokemon Centre!” Emp’s heart dropped to the pit of his stomach, talking to himself more than Situation who was gone to the world, not coming to when the others did. Could this be it for the fearless Hoodlum Pokemon? Emp refused to believe it, hoisting the reptile into a fireman's lift as he made efforts to retreat, dodging the maelstrom that continued to unfold. With Scrafty on the brink he wouldn’t dare look back into the eye of the storm, but the reflection of an iridescent, technicolour explosion was enough to stop him in his tracks. The flare lit up the boulevard in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet – an entropic aftershock sending voices and images flashing through the traveller’s brain like a movie reel. Collapsing to the floor, Emp got one last look at the god as it was swallowed by the black hole left behind by Palkia’s corpse…

Three weeks later…

Emp had spent every day since the apocalypse by his comatose companion’s side, growing accustomed to the bustle of Municipal Plaza and its busiest Pokemon Centre; he had come to know all of the ward’s staff by name and they even let him hang back beyond visitor hours, a small token of appreciation for holding together space-time. The hospital allowed a partner Pokemon to accompany him on each visit, Emp hopeful that their voices would stir something in Situation. Where his closest friends had failed, a Pokemon he had yet to even meet would succeed – his hatchling, Detox. The Salandit was just a week old and hadn’t had the chance to know her father, but her coos seemed to be rouse a paternal instinct, opening his heavy eyes to the world once more.

Their celebrations were therein interrupted by a newscast; with the calamity over – sans for a few reported ‘time echoes’ here and there – New Fizz City looked primed to return to its former glory. Several neighbourhoods in identified danger zones had been forced to evacuate when the gate first opened, leaving a shell of stubborn citizens behind to tide the city’s economic depression. Today businessowners were unboarding their shopfronts for the first time in years in preparation for renewed tourisism, perhaps giving the City a chance to rise from the ashes yet again. While his time in the metropolis was tainted with bad memories, Emp wondered if New Fizz City could offer a new start for him and his companions.

With a few powerful fighting and ground typed moves bringing Dialga down, as well as the stars themselves in the form of Draco Meteor, Dialga was on its last legs. It was time for the finale. Mustering up all of the strength within its body, the transformed Ditto did the one thing that Dialga had been all raid. It was time for Dialga itself to get a taste of its own medicine.


Taking one step forwards, the transformed Ditto channeled the very power of time. It could feel and see all futures, possibilities, and alternate timelines at once. Timelines where Dialga emerged victorious, and Dialga ruled over the universe. Timelines that were pruned away, never meant to have happened. Visions of everything here. Of their births, their lives, their deaths. Even visions of everyone dying by Dialga’s hands. It also saw the true horrors of what happened to Palkia. This was the power of time that Dialga controlled, and it was all accumulated with one final move. And with that, the Ditto let out a massive Roar of Time. Concentrating everything into one final attack, that even time was not on the corrupted Pokemon’s side.


The attack hit Dialga, exploding into a vibrant, explosive display of colors. Voices and images could be seen all across the singularity as an image of Dialga, in its normal walking alongside Palkia, fades away. The corrupted Primal Dialga gets pushed out from its rocky outcropping and into the black hole Palkia’s corpse created. The singularity then started to collapse within itself, and everyone was grabbed by Hatterene. Using her power, she safely pulled everyone out from the singularity and back to where Dialga’s Gate once stood. A loud boom could be heard all across Fizzytopia, the big crunch finally complete. And in that time, Hatterene was gone, but a gift basket for everyone remained. This was truly the end of Dialga’s Gate. Life could move back into New Fizz City. The echoes of time would still linger, but the world was saved. Congratulations!

Leo's mind was constantly racing during the battle. So many thoughts and possibilities that he felt his mind just... blank. He couldn't properly focus with all of the chaos within the singularity, and just wanted to make sure the world wasn't doomed. Custard was trying his hardest, but even his Togetic fell in time. But, with him falling, something of a miracle happened. Hatterene re-appeared. That witch that took over the island and then suddenly disappeared. Why was she here? To prove a point? That she was the most powerful being in the universe? He didn't know, but something churned within him when he saw her.

But, it was because of her that they were alive. She kept the world together and made sure everyone reached safety. And she even left everyone gifts. Why? He couldn't understand why. But, that only caused the fire in his heart to rise.

"One day she's going to be mine," Leo said sternly, looking towards where she last was before she disappeared.

Custard gently flies over towards Leo, the Togetic trying to offer his trainer some comfort. If anyone was deeply affected by the loss Hatterene dolled out, it was Leo. Custard just set the gift basket in front of Leo and tugged him towards the city. They did need to head back to the Arcane Realm after all.

As Leo headed into New Fizz City, he noticed things were a lot more lively despite them just getting back. It seemed that it was finally stable here and safe for people to return. The boy enjoyed that, and relished in the happiness that everyone here was experiencing. The gate was finally closed. The people here were safe. He'd have to visit one day, once things with the cafe were al lsettled.

As he made his way towards the bus stop, he saw Ethan looking towards the sky. He seemed to have been muttering something to himself. His Raichu, Lucas, noticed Leo and Custard and ran up to greet them.

"Hi there, did ya do well?" Leo asked while giving the Riachu a head rub. The electric rodent smiled and gave him some reassuring happy noises.

"Hey, you ready to head back?" Leo question his room mate, a little puzzled why he was just standing there.

"Yeah, let's go."

The trainers make one last final push to get this settled once and for all. With a few powerful fighting and ground typed moves bringing Dialga down, as well as the stars themselves in the form of Draco Meteor, Dialga was on its last legs. It was time for the finale. Mustering up all of the strength within its body, the transformed Ditto did the one thing that Dialga had been all raid. It was time for Dialga itself to get a taste of its own medicine.


Taking one step forwards, the transformed Ditto channeled the very power of time. It could feel and see all futures, possibilities, and alternate timelines at once. Timelines where Dialga emerged victorious, and Dialga ruled over the universe. Timelines that were pruned away, never meant to have happened. Visions of everything here. Of their births, their lives, their deaths. Even visions of everyone dying by Dialga’s hands. It also saw the true horrors of what happened to Palkia. This was the power of time that Dialga controlled, and it was all accumulated with one final move. And with that, the Ditto let out a massive Roar of Time. Concentrating everything into one final attack, that even time was not on the corrupted Pokemon’s side.


The attack hit Dialga, exploding into a vibrant, explosive display of colors. Voices and images could be seen all across the singularity as an image of Dialga, in its normal walking alongside Palkia, fades away. The corrupted Primal Dialga gets pushed out from its rocky outcropping and into the black hole Palkia’s corpse created. The singularity then started to collapse within itself, and everyone was grabbed by Hatterene. Using her power, she safely pulled everyone out from the singularity and back to where Dialga’s Gate once stood. A loud boom could be heard all across Fizzytopia, the big crunch finally complete. And in that time, Hatterene was gone, but a gift basket for everyone remained. This was truly the end of Dialga’s Gate. Life could move back into New Fizz City. The echoes of time would still linger, but the world was saved. Congratulations!

The longer the battle had raged on, the more and more apparent it became that predictability was not something to be expected here. Perhaps Amicae should have predicted the potential of getting stuck in a slow time bubble just long enough for her intended order to fail to reach Fontaine in time, but the strange, titanic hair-mech of a pokemon that showed up as things were starting to look even more dire than they already had from the beginning? How could anybody have predicted that turn of events? As tempting as it was to scan this bizarre interloper with her Pokedex, now was obviously not the right time or place for such frivolous actions- especially with the black hole’s pull getting increasingly powerful to the point of making standing one’s ground difficult even then shockwaves weren’t rocking one’s platform!

Ultimately, it was not the unbelievable nature of this battle that drew Ami the closest to the edge of sanity. No, that came right as the confrontation came to a close: Keith had elected to give Dialga a taste of its own, overwhelmingly powerful medicine, but in doing so he had subjected everyone in the vicinity to visions of what were, and what could be. Those convoluted visions just… lasted far longer for her than they seemed to for everyone else, accompanied by a strange sensation…

...The sensation of falling through time itself, witnessing the many twists and turns of fate that lead her to a diversity of outcomes, of selves.

She lived many humble lives in a marble house, and a multitude of grandiose ones in big cities.

She saw successes as a clothing designer, a saboteur, a revolutionary, a fisher, a teacher... as well as just as many failures in the same fields, and more.

She witnessed many lands in many forms through the temporal lens, yet just as many paths she took stayed settled in their hometowns.

And yet despite all of the myriad twists and turns fate seemed to weave for her many selves, there was one scene that seemed constant throughout most of the threads: a great ring of stone surrounding an azure sky, a light, warm breeze rising up from the sapphire sea that lapped gently at the shore’s edge, and a quiet, soothing voice reciting the tales of this city’s founding over the cries of distant wingull. Though Ami could not remember this place, she nonetheless felt a sense of belonging from it...

...And then, the visions ceased.

By the time she finally regained her senses, it seemed like everyone had made it back to where Dialga’s Gate once stood reasonably safe and sound. Most of the other Trainers had already left to attend their various celebrations over this frankly unbelievable victory of theirs, leaving Ami with only Fontaine to accompany her as she fought through the daze of her overwhelmed senses. The metagross, thankfully still stable despite time’s supposed restabilization, was looking at her great concern in its emerald eyes. “I-I’m okay now,” she tried to reassure them, but her legs told a different tale. A metallic arm caught her as she started to collapse and stayed outstretched for her to lean on. “...Guess not. Just how long was I out of it?” A moment passed with no answer- even with the vast computing ability that metagross were known for, there was simply no way to determine the answer to such a question in this situation. ‘Well, wherever. Let’s just go find the others.”

In complete contrast to the rest of the day(?) so far, the trip back to the little hideout was largely uneventful. Aside from quite a few enterprising and excitably celebratory individuals, it seemed most of the citizenry were still in hiding, still unwilling to trust that the chaotic scenario was mostly over now. Not that anybody could really blame them, of course. Some blocks were clearly different from how they were before the Gate collapsed, and many areas had more of their subtler details altered by the catastrophe as well. It was clear that the distortions had calmed down quite a bit, however, so the city should be able to get back to its usual routine soon. That, at least, was a bit of good news.

Unfortunately, the good news stopped when the pair made it to their destination. Silic seemed to have come out of the ordeal fine enough, but… while the other person was clearly too young to be Chroma, no more than 10 or 11 years old at most, the color of her hair and the familiar outfit hanging loosely from her frame clearly proved otherwise. She appeared to be sound asleep now, resting away the bags that had appeared beneath her eyes. Ami couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt at the sight, knowing that her sister had tired herself out so thoroughly to ensure that they had a fighting chance at ending this calamity.

“I-I’m sorry, Sky,” Silic apologized sincerely, his own guilt edging uncharacteristically into his voice. “She stumbled into one of the distortions when her exhaustion caught up to her, and by the time I noticed, she was already…”

In the end, not everyone would be able to return to the old paradigm.
