... has a similar climax and ending to Jirachi: Wish Maker, also the first movie of its series and released on July 19.
  • The generation's red version mascot appears and starts a rampage in which it absorbs energy from plants, people and Pokémon, including Team Rocket and the movie's antagonist or antagonists.
  • Riot suggested to Merilyn that they forget about Diancie and comforted her just before Yveltal petrified them with Oblivion Wing, similar to how Diane said as the fake Groudon sucked her up that if this was the end, she was glad Butler was the last thing she saw. Both Riot and Butler were voiced by Kōichi Yamadera in Japanese, and realised their feelings for Merilyn and Diane respectively.
  • Xerneas calmed Yveltal and revived everyone and everything it petrified, similar to how Jirachi destroyed the fake Groudon and released everyone it absorbed. Both Xerneas and Jirachi then went to sleep.
