Do you have any Pokemon Anime headcanons?

  • Cilan, Bonnie, and Clemont talked about Ash for a while before Cilan had to go.
  • One of Ash's ancestors lived in Sinnoh in a village next to Lake Valor.
  • Ash, his Alolan Pokemon, and his friends from Alola got to meet and interact with Ash's other Pokemon, but we didn't see it since there's already a lot going on and the show can only focus on so many things in one time.
  • There are plans to renovate Ceurlean gym, but because of earthquakes caused by the the coincidental plate that Sinnoh, Johto, and Kanto is on breaking in between Sinnoh and Johto during the Team Galactic incident, it's one of the many buildings that collapsed. Luckily no one was inside the gym when it happened.

Here's some theories that Birdkeeper Toby had made, little something to think about.

  • Lana got her Poplio when it was only a few days old.
  • Team Skull have been causing trouble to everyone in Alola, they just haven't caused trouble to Ash and his friends in a long time since they never got around to it.
  • After Ash, Lillie, and Gladion left the Aether foundation, Faba got a very serious talking to, and spends the next few days feeling guilty for what he done. During this time, he felt sore for getting tackled by a 10 year old, and being slammed in to a wall by Nilhilego.
  • The Nihilego that smacked Faba into a wall is likely the same some from a few years back.

-Misty achieved her goal of being a famous Water-type trainer, at least within Kanto and its neighouring regions. This earned her a lot of fame and fortune, which was the reason behind the Cerulean Gym's remodelation. She got her Mega Ring after defeating Siebold. This inspired Brock to get one for himself, and Misty helped him with her influences. Then, both went to a trasure hunt in Mt. Moon and found their mega stones, Steelix did most of the job.
-Lillie only entered Pokemon School three weeks before Ash did, and she was very shy, she was only able to hold a conversation with Mallow.
-When they are not attacking the group, TR does a lot of tourism around the islands of Alola, but also a lot of evil schemes. Some of them are stopped by Bewear, but some don't, which is the reason why we don't see Officer Jenny often...

Lumiose Airport is so large that it has several terminals, and one has to take a train between them. After the Team Flare attack, Clemont decided to be the new voiceover for that train as part of his efforts to rebuild the city, and the group got to hear him while they rode from Security to their respective gates.

He decided to add in some musical jingles that play when the doors are closing and when a train is arriving, as well as a new line that plays if somebody blocks the closing doors to hop on at the last second: “Please keep clear of the doors - YOU are delaying the departure of this train.”

Just like Hawaii, the residents of Alola received a false missile warning sometime between the events of SM055 and SM061. Ash and friends were at school when it happened, but those terrifying 30 minutes of their lives was not made into an episode so as to keep the show kid friendly.

Unlike Hawaii though, in Alola’s case this turned out to be some sick officer’s idea of a joke. Needless to say he was relieved of his duties.

  • Stoutland was Litten's father. Under normal circumstances, Litten doesn't learn Fire Fang until level 14 (15 in original SM), not far from its evolution to Torracat. But Fire Fang is also an egg move, with the Lillipup line among those that can pass it along.
  • Steenee will finally become closer to Rowlet when he evolves into Dartrix. Perhaps as a Rescue Romance. But the romance will fall apart next time either evolves. I think there could be a good bit of comedy in Tsareena rejecting Dartrix the way Meowth was rejected by Purugly in DP.
I was kinda hoping for a time skip before Alola. I like the idea even more for the first mainline Switch game. Perhaps with a new but already familiar set of protagonists. (I'm thinking of Max and Bonnie.)

Bewear is a human ninja in a suit.
Nah. But it probably does have human disciples, like that one trainer on Route 11 in USUM.

Time to bring back some life into this thread with some old headcanons of mine:

Jimmy from the "The Legend of Thunder" special is the older brother of Ethan, who appeared in the opening sequence of "Zoroark: Master of Illusions". And before anyone remarks the latter is actually Jimmy: the art gallery for the Japanese DVD of Zoroark: Master of Illusions identifies him as "Hibiki" (while Jimmy's Japanese name is Kenta). So they are canonically different characters. Ethan started out his journey later than his brother Jimmy, whom he greatly admires, and after traveling Johto he went to Sinnoh where he met and battled Ash.

Ethan started out his journey the same year as Lyra, and they became friendly rivals. Silver (who appeared in the Japanese opening of Legend of Thunder is not a rival of Ethan, but of his brother Jimmy. Silver did not steal a Starter from Professor Elm however, they were already taken by Jimmy, Marina and Jackson/Vincent. He IS still the estranged son of Giovanni though.

Sorta related: Brendan who appeared in opening sequences of three different movies is the son of Professor Birch. He started his journey at the same time as May and picked Mudkip (the one that used Water Gun on May). He is an extremely talented and skillful Trainer, which is why he already has an Aggron and a Shiftry at the time of Jirachi: Wish Maker and is battling in a double battle tournament. After losing in the Ever Grande Conference to another skillful Trainer, he traveled to the Sinnoh region and battled Lucas in a tournament (see "Arceus and the Jewel of Life").

Lucas started out his journey one year before Dawn, alongside his friend Barry. Lucas picked Turtwig while Barry obviously picked Piplup (ignore rival type advantage here for a second). Although Lucas decided to qualify for the Sinnoh League, Barry decided to hold off and just traveled around to train, with the goal of eventually battling and defeating his dad. After a year of training, Palmer granted his son a battle against him but easily defeated him. Barry realized he needed to grow and started qualifying for the Sinnoh League the year after.

Although Paul also got a Turtwig from Rowan, he started his journey way before Barry and Lucas did. This makes sense, as Paul has already competed in multiple leagues by the time of DP.

I'm not sure where Kenny fits in in all of this in my headcanon. It's annoying that Barry, Kenny and Dawn are all from Twinleaf and probably started out with a Piplup. I imagine Kenny wanted to get a Piplup from Rowan but missed out and got one from a nearby Nurse Joy instead.

Phew, that's all. For now...

  • Ash's father is a pokemon master and the Ho-Oh in the first episode was his. Ho-Oh was sent to see how his son was doing.
  • When Max becomes a trainer and reunites with the Ralts he befriended, he will eventually evolve it into a Gallade.
  • Todd Snap and Trevor will one day meet and share pokemon photos with eath other.
  • Paul didn't bother with the Orange Gyms or the Orange League because its less about battling and more about how trainer and pokemon interact.
  • Drew's starter is his Roselia (later Roserade).

Even though Ash is still ten years old, time does pass within the Pokemon world, so he has still been out traveling through various regions for years. It's just that no one ages and no one questions it. As strange as it sounds, it is a lot easier for me to believe that than for all of Ash's journeys to take place within a single year.

I have a similar headcanon, Poke-humans age much more slowly than real world humans and whatever age they're given in the show is what they're roughly equivalent to in our years.

If the guy who started with Bulbasaur at as Ash met him, he would be an arrogant glasses wearing "too intelligent for you" type. Where as the guy who started with Charmander is more quick to challenge strages to Pokémon battles than Ash is.

Gambling on Pokémon League matches is illegal but common and the law isn't enforced.

Forget universal secondary education. If you live in the Pokémon world and you want your child to go to 2nd grade you're going to have to force them to if not pay for private school.

Serena and Dawn have met & know each other (through Contests in Hoenn), but neither actually knows that the other also travelled with Ash.

Lusamine has some sort of autism-like social disorder. Her anime self had a much easier time in middle & high school, however, which ultimately averted her descent into being the resentful, self-righteous woman she is in the games.

SM is some crazed dream Ash is having when he ate the wrong berries.

Inspired by this, I'm gonna say that SM is a fanfic written by Oak's Rotom:

-Ash did went to Alola to study, but not in a Pokemon School, but in a Pokemon University. Rotom knew schools better from TV shows so it placed him there, and aged him down, gave him crazier adventures and made lots of references from other shows it loved.
-Ash writes letters to Professor Oak, and that's where Rotom gets most of its inspiration for characters and episodes. The real reason why Ash doesn't sweep through the Island Challenge is because he is busy with the University.
-Samson Oak and Rotom Dex don't exist, they are representations of Professor Oak himself and Oak's Rotom.
-SM042 and SM043 were a close representation of how things actually happened, except that Misty & Brock didn't have Mega evolutions.
-And talking about it, Brock helps Rotom from time to time and reviews its fanfic. Brock filled Rotom in with Team Rocket's real personality, and he developed the character of Professor Kukui based on himself, as someone who cares about Ash and who is succesful with women.
-Rotom wrote the Nebby Arc in a rush after watching too many animes in a row.

M20 is a fanfic written by Oak about what he expected Ash and Pikachu to become in their Kanto journey.
XY is a fanfic written by Serena after she watched Ash in the Unova League, because we all know Ash was at his sexiest then.
