Do you have any Pokemon Anime headcanons?

He's also in a much smaller ranking pool. If battles are pre-set we can assume that they aren't as common and if the battles are high enough....

For example let's say Volkner battled the 51st ranked trainer. If 51 drops via the loss they'd go to 68, and that would bump 52-67/8 while Ash wouldn't be effected.

Yeah, but when Ash won against Iris, he was position 99, so he should have dropped rank by default in those 12 episodes, because no way nobody else is battling.

Thats yet one of the other issues with the PWC they didn't seem to have thought about properly.

That would be in regards to people rising or dropping ranks. You could probably fill in how it works if you tried, though had to say if the show has.

Ambipom changed her mind again and gave up on playing ping pong ages ago. Since then she's traveling around the world, working under different masters, working for and giving up on various types of sports. As they say, jack of all trades, master of none.

That's completely in character for her.

The PWC should've just had a scoring system, ranking systems are confusing and pretty much require there being protagonist bias.

Ash's Lucario is partially a shout out to the Lucario that appears in Smash Bros. It shares three of its moves (Aura Sphere, Force Palm, and Double Team) with Smash Lucario, and the fourth one, Reversal, could be seen as a reference to how Smash Lucario's attacks get stronger the more damage it takes, since Reversal works exactly the same way.

Since I remembered this thread existed, I'd like to declare that I personally headcanon Pikachu as bisexual. As well as every other one of Ash's pokemon being on the LGBTQ+ spectrum as well. :wynaut:
Well, if we're mentioning that:
At some point I figured Meowth was bisexual in the 4Kids version, and his VA from that era, the late Maddie Blaustein, seemed to confirm she was portraying him that way when she answered questions on serebii, saying that she acted him as flirting with lots of characters and at one point mentioned liking him with both James and Pikachu.
(This was a long time ago so some details might be off).

Seeing how discussions about Paul have flared up recently, here's a headcanon about him that I've had since Gen 6:

If Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, and Dynamax/Gigantamax had existed when Paul was around, he would look down on any trainers who use them, feeling that they're just cheap tricks to make weak Pokemon undeservedly strong with no cost or effort. Naturally, Paul would refuse to use these mechanics at all.

Paul is still around he just hasn't been brought back into the show if that day ever comes.Him looking down on trainers who use Mega Evolution sounds silly considering that was XY's biggest gimmick, damn near every trainer had a keystone. And if you look back in early DP Paul was willing to do almost anything to obtain power whether it be capturing the strongest species of pokemon in the wild, training them to their limits or using other opponent's pokemon of the same type to power up his own.Why would using Mega Evolution or Z-Move be any different?

Logically if he came back in an enviroment that involved trainers using powerups he'd take full advantage of them the same way he did with Type Advantage/Abilities/Status Moves/Switching/Entry Hazards. The guy was so obsessed with trying to unlock Chimchar's Hax Blaze ability he put it through the most intense situations, imagine if he put that same effort into his Aggron with Mega Evoluton.

And lastly Paul likes his opponents to be powerful, anything less than that would've disappointed him,you saw how he spoke to gym leader Maylene after he defeated her along with his reaction to when Ash said he was going to challenge Volkner at the Sunyshore gym,at the time Volkner was not motivated and was just giving out badges for free which Paul looked down upon while Barry said it was the best.

As a battle strategy I think he would be okay with it. He values strength more than anything, no matter where it comes from, for him it would be similar to using strong moves or status hazards. Besides, he was okay with the idea of finding Pokemon with "potential" on the wild as opposed of training those Pokemon himself.

As a battle style it's up to interpretation, but I don't remember he saying anything negative about other battle styles like contests and he did participate in a Poke Ringer.

It's a very popular headcanon but....

Ash's Lucario is the Reincarnation of Sir Aaron's Lucario..

Some other headcanons

- Also Goh's Cinderace has a crush on Ash's Lucario

- Inteleon gets along very well with mostly everyone but he secretly isn't very fond of Grookey's or Darmanitan's antics. He's not too big on Gengar's pranks either

- Dracovish and Dragonite are BFFs

- Iris and Dawn still keep in touch with each other. Dawn already knew Iris was Unova Champion before Ash did

Concetta has a twin sister called Kiri with the discernible trait being their hair. On Concetta the side piece is on her left whereas on Kiri it's on her right. There are a couple of animation errors that support this, the primary one being Concetta shown in the back watching Kiri's round despite both being the same character in the Japanese version, but there is also a scene of Jessie looking in a mirror with Concetta in the background, however Concetta's hair is not mirrored despite it supposedly being what Jessie is seeing in the mirror, so we can therefore conclude that it was a brief appearance by Kiri who had been allowed into the Master Class backstage area to wish her sister well.
