DP Manga to be released in the U.S.!

Jesus, I know, right? Don't get me wrong, I love Special a lot, but... yeah.

This is another shot at Pokemon manga in the US, guys!! And I'm definitely appreciatin' this opportunity.

Well, thing is, you can already get PokeSupe in english through ChuangYi (which can be bought through Ebay and whatnot) and it has volumes 1 to 7 already out in the US. Sure, I wish they'd complete it, but ehhh. They'd have to re-visit the Johto and Hoenn eras of the manga to catch up to D/P, which I think they might be iffy to try doing.

I just don't see it happening, even if it is quite popular still. I think Viz would rather try out something that's easier like 'Pokemon DP' since it's a) relatively new, b) unconnected to any previous series, and c) based on the most recent Pokemon games released. We'll see how it does. Maybe (and don't get your hopes up) if that does well, we might see more of PokeSupe.

Yes, but I think they were trying to test the waters with the 'Best of' books. Since they probably didn't make the amount Viz expected, they probably gave up on any ideas to continue releasing the series.

If that was a "sampler", they did a sucky job of it. (Besides, given Viz puts out Shonen Jump samplers on Free Comics Day. If that was their intent, they could give Pokemon the same treatment)

Of course. They're totally going to risk trying to sell the thing to a fandom that would 'rather read the scans/summaries at Serebii.net'. I think they wanted to test the waters even with a 'book chopped to pieces'.

And hey, maybe it worked, because we're getting some new Pokemon manga soon. :/

and about DP being released in the states, i don't know, if its a comedy manga like I think it is then it may not be worth buying...
I'm more into the action-y side of pokemon (thats why I likes PokeSupe so much)

and mabey by some chance is DP sells well they might bring back PokeSupe! but even if they do I'm probably going to continue buying manga from Grimsg, because quite honestly Chuang Yi manga are much better quality than Viz so, I think its worht the extra few bucks )

You know, it's not like I didn't release the first chapter or anything...so people already saw the manga. It's action with bits of comedy in it.

Who doesn't? The amount of wanking over PokeSupe is almost overwhelming. Not that it isn't good, but there are either, equally valid forms of presenting the Pokemon World. I think it's a great thing that we're getting a different manga here in the states and look forward to purchasing the first volume when it comes out.

Exactly.

And don't get me wrong, I love PokeSupe, it's in my top three favorites along with Electric Tale and MPJ. It's just that I really hate how people are refusing to acknowledge or try out a different manga series (reminds me of people who hate any other medium that isn't the Pokemon Anime) and throwing fits over how Viz is translating other stuff. I mean, I'd like for them to continue Adventures (and MPJ for that matter), but I can understand why they are looking for different venues in the Pokemon manga market.

I just think DP needs to be given a chance. It could surprise some people.
