Fakemon Dex Ideas

I'm starting to work on a fakemon region based off of the "Great Lakes Region" of the US and Canada. I need some ideas for older Pokemon that would be in this region. Also, some ideas for fakemon would be nice.

(the great lakes region includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin)

Lots of freaking fish... fresh water fish too... bass, perch, salmon... Robins are big in Michigan so Talonflame... Bears are prominent too in the UP and upper part of the LP... ursaluna would fit heavily thanks to the great bear sand dunes... Pine trees too... so theres abombasnow... wolverine being the state "thing" i think would fit for the pokemon closest to that and that would be IMO sandslash and cyndaquil lines... cherrim as well since traverse city is known for the cherry festival... revaroom for detroit and the auto industry...
