Favorite Dark Type?

This is a tough one for me as dark is one of my favorite types. I would lean towards Liepard since it's based on my favorite animal. Umbreon, Mightyena, Houndoom and Absol are close behind.

Houndour/doom. No questions. No contest. The most badass non (pseudo) Legendary Dark type that has ever been created. Also much better designed than that piece of shit Darkrai.

Tyranitar, Umbreon, Hydreigon, Pangoro, and Absol are also excellent Pokemon, and I gotta give a shoutout to my boy Shiftry as well.

Dark Types never interested me much. Zoroark on the other hand..........is one awesome Dark Type Pokemon.

While I'm not the biggest fan of the Dark-type, it is a three-way tie between Absol, Mightyena, and Weavile. I love Absol's design, Mightyena's wolf-ish nature (though I know it's based off of a hyena, but it acts more like a canine in the anime), and Weavile's cool (no pun intended) typing (along with Ice being my favorite type). However, as they say in the biz: "Absol, I choose you!"

Same as my fav ice type: Sneasel! Though I really like a lot of the others too, dark type is one of my favourite types.

I appreciate the Dark type
Absol, Umbreon, Drapion, Zoroark, Greninja and Spiritomb are all awesome and Yveltal gets an honourable mention as well.
But they must all recognize their superior in the sparkling piece of brilliance that is Sableye :3

I really like a lot of dark-types, but I think Houndoom has to be my absolute favorite. It has such an awesome design (and I hate dobermans in real life) and concept. I also used one in SoulSilver and he was one of my most used team members. Houndour's pretty cute too. And let's not forget that badass, amazing Mega. Yeah, nothing but positives for Houndoom.

Some lesser loved dark-types of mine include the Purrloin family, Poochyena family, Tyranitar, Weavile, Umbreon, and Absol.

I always say dark is my favourite type. I like the darkness. There's not much more relaxing than a nice, cloudy winter evening. Or perhaps a cloudless night with a good moon. Somewhere remote, far from anywhere, not a light around. It settles my soul somehow. Ahhhh.

Type-wise, I have mixed feelings about it. I like the whole 'sneaky fighting' theme, and Foul Play would definitely be my personal signature move if I had one. I don't really like the strong association/assumption that dark must be evil though. That's not really Pokemon's fault, but it didn't exactly challenge that stereotype either. There's no reason why dark-elemental powers or sneaky tactics can't be used by a good side, but that didn't stop them from labelling the type as evil in Japan, and trying to imply evil in the translations.

In terms of the pokemon themselves, I find the type is rather polarising. A lot of dark types strike me as rather unpleasant to say the least. This includes but is not limited to the likes of cacturne, crawdaunt, skuntank, scrafty and so on. But then a lot more of them are just lovely, like liepard, mightyena absol, houndoom, zoroark and weavile. Counting the rest of the evolution lines as well here.

Oh wait, I forget to mention umbreon. How could I? Such a lovely, sweet, adorable little creature as umbreon (*cough*Eclipse*cough*), and I forgot her!

But, yeah, I like the dark type. So, that's a thing.

Spiritomb is my favorite, and Drapion is a close second. I also love Houndoom, Honchkrow, and Malamar. There really aren't any dark type Pokemon that I don't like, though.

I voted for Tyranitar but Sableye, Nuzleaf and Houndoom are really super close.

Actually all the dark types are. I don't know what made me like it after it's debut in gen II, but ever since then it beat out Ice, Water, and Poison as my favorite type. I may even make my secret base "gym" dark type depending on the AI strength and level of customization.

I am not really a fan of Dark type Pokemon but they are the most challenging type to use competitively. These are the reasons:

1. Limited high damaged moves- If you are looking for high damaged moves, then Dark is not your type. With the highest damage of 80(solid damage) and two moves that varies the damage(Fling and Punishment), they are the weakest move type in all Pokemon types.
2. Tricky Moves- In terms of tricks, Dark type moves has everything. From Torment, Topsy Turvy to Snatch, it got everything. But the part it became tricky is how are you going to use it in a right way.
3. Attack type- Most Dark type Pokemon are Atk type specialist, giving you a limited strategy if you choose Dark type Pokemon to be your main offensive unit.

Thankfully, we have Weavile. Attack type specialist with access to both Fake Out and Ice Shard and with the help of Night Slash, it can be used as a quickest offensive dark type unit.

Mega Gyarados, Mega Houndoom, Greninja, Shiftry, Liepard, Mega Tyranitar, Sableye, Weavile, Hydreigon and Pangoro are amongst my favourite Dark-types.

But Krookodile is my absolute favourite. I've had one on every main game team since BW, it has an amazing design, great abilities + stats and it's always been one of the best Pokemon on my teams. (Moxie is amazing in-game.) It's pretty good competitively too, which is another positive.

Choosing Krookodile is pretty much a no-brainer for me.

Sharpedo. Also really like Umbreon, Purrloin, Tyranitar, Zorua, Darkrai, Yveltal and Greninja

I voted for Sableye, since it has that evil grin and sneaky attitude about him. But what can you expect from a little gremlin? I loved him from the moment I saw him in my Sapphire version all those years ago, and having no weaknesses was just awesome too.
Those stats are crappy, but who cares when you have Prankster to cause all kinds of mayhem? Gotta try out his mega form when I get ORAS though, looks too good not to try!

Drapion would have been my other choice, since he was my favourite Pokémon from Generation IV. And seeing Hunter J using one to almost kill Ash was just too perfect for me not to love him!
Being the centerpiece of my Battle Tower team in Platinum thanks to Acupressure and Battle Armor was just icing on the cake!

My favorite Pokémon, Greninja, is a dark type, so he is my favorite dark type. I also like Sableye, in second, and Tyranitar, in third.

I'm not a big fan of Dark types, but I like Liepard, Absol, Sneasel/Weavile, and Houndoom. Bisharp and Cacturne are pretty awesome too.
