Favorite Starter from Each Trio?

Gen 1: Bulbasaur

Something about Bulbasaur makes me smile. Every time I've played a Kanto Game, I've used Bulbasaur. He just hits

gen 4 Turtwig

Gen 5 Tepig

Gen 3: very hard to pick I love them all so much, treecko just a little more than the other 2
Gen 4: none, I end up picking chimchar anyways
Gen 5: bounces between snivy and oshawott, though most of the time I pick oshawott
Gen 6: froakie
Gen 7: Same as hoenn, I prefer poplio just a little more
Gen 8(and all gens): sobble

Kanto: Squirtle (I'd say Bulbasaur, but I just do not like Venusaur and it almost ruins the whole line knowing that's what Bulbasaur will turn into)
Johto: Chikorita
Hoenn: Torchic
Sinnoh: Turtwig
Unova: Oshawott
Kalos: Fennekin
Alola: Popplio
Galar: Sobble

Sinnoh is the hardest to choose from because it has probably the strongest starter designs (from the first form all the way to the final evolution) from any region IMO. Also just want to say that Popplio was robbed in Gen 7 by getting overshadowed so much by the other two that gen. Primarina for life, baby.

I guess for me its mainly fire

• Gen 1: picked Charmander, since I dislike the other two choices
• Gen 2: love o mustelids, Cyndquil doesn't fit in, buts evolutions do
• Gen 3 and 4: I hate all the starters equally didn't pick any, as soon I got a Pokemon I loved, the starter got boxed instantly
• Gen 5: Snivy, love it, and its evoutions
• Gen 6: Fennekin!! my most favorite of all starters, love foxes
• Gen 7: Litten, love felines a lot, so easy choice
Gen 8: only starting 1st stage do like Scorbunny, horrible evolutions

My favourite of each starter trio:

Kanto - Bulbasaur (I like its design better than the others)
Johto - Cyndaquil (Chose it in SS, and didn't disappoint)
Hoenn - Mudkip (It was my very first starter after all)
Sinnoh - Chimchar (As someone born in the Year of the Monkey, it's fitting)
Unova - Oshawott (My mascot, duh!)
Kalos - Froakie (I love the ninja theme for the line, plus Greninja is awesome)
Alola - Popplio (Primarina is my second favourite final stage for all the starters)
Galar - Sobble (Cute even if I don't like Inteleon)

So, around half of my picks are the Water-types.

1. Charmander. Yes, I know 'Zard has been a bit too much in the spotlight to the expense of the others, but I still like the Charmander line most of the three. I've just always liked dragons, and Charizard is pretty clearly a dragon in spirit if not always in type.
2. Cyndaquil. I mostly like Cyndaquil and Quilava over Typhlosion, they're so cute.
3. Treecko. Tricky decision this time, I love all three gen 3 starters but I think Treecko just edges out the others by virtue of Mystery Dungeon.
4. Chimchar. Once again, a difficult decision, so I've got to go with my first Pokemon ever as my favourite from what, in my opinion, is a really good set of starters.
5. Oshawott. Cute Pokemon, and also samurai otters with swords in biological sheathes on their legs are really cool.
6. Fennekin. I'm aware Delphox isn't that great, but Fennekin is just so adorable.
7. Rowlet. Mostly because of Decidueye being cool, though I guess Rowlet's pretty cute.
8. Scorbunny. To be honest, I didn't really use a starter in my gen 8 playthrough, but I picked Scorbunny to begin with (even if I boxed him ASAP) and I do like how his name is a pun on both scorch and score, tying in his football theme with his fire-typing.

Kalos: Chespin > Fennekin > Froakie (this was also a super hard decision!)

Gen VI/Kalos: Fennekin...only because of Delphox which is one of my favourite Pokemon.

Gen VII/Alola: Rowlet

Gan VIII/Galar: Sobble...half like it's final evo and that's it.

Statistically I have gone for the Grass starter three times, the Fire starter only once, and the Water starter four times. This doesn't mean anything however, the single Fire starter from my picks happens to be my overall favourite. Evolved forms don't alter any of these either.

Gen 1 - Charmander: I do find that the games have been shoving Charizard in our faces way too much, but I can't help still liking it.

Gen 2 - Chikorita:

Gen 3 - Treecko: This is probably the region with the hardest decision for me. But I have a soft spot for Treecko since it's the first Pokemon I ever had.

Gen 4 - Piplup: My favorite starter overall. It helps that I don't like Torterra or Infernape all that much.

Gen 5 - Snivy: I don't like the gen 5 starters all that much, tbh.

Gen 6 - Froakie: I like ninjas

Gen 7 - Rowlet: He's round and Decidueye is a Ghost type, so it's an instant first choice for me

Gen 8 - Sobble: I like Sobble and Drizzile, Inteleon is growing on me.

I seem to not pick fire-type starters that often, huh?
