Scarlet & Violet: Temporal Forces - Set Logo
The next Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion in the Scarlet & Violet series, Temporal Forces, has finally been officially announced by The Pokémon Company International. This expansion, which is releasing on March 22nd, will be the international equivalent of Japan's Wild Force and Cyber Judge expansions, which are scheduled for release on January 26th this year. It's not yet known if all of the cards from those sets will make it over to Scarlet & Violet - Temporal Forces internationally, or if some will only see release in later sets.

This expansion features the Pokémon TCG debuts of a variety of Paradox Pokémon that first appeared in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This sets also sees the return of ACE SPEC cards to the Pokémon TCG. In the Black & White Series all ACE SPEC cards were either Item or Pokémon Tool cards, but as of the Scarlet & Violet series, ACE SPEC cards can now also be Special Energy cards.

Players can expect the set to include the following:
  • Over 160 total cards
  • 7 ACE SPEC cards, split between 6 Trainer cards and 1 Special Energy card
  • 13 Pokémon ex and 2 Tera Pokémon ex
  • 22 illustration rare Pokémon cards
  • 10 special illustration rare cards featuring rare Pokémon and Supporter cards
  • 6 hyper rare Pokémon ex, with a new and unique raised foil effect
While a full set list will not be available for at least another couple of weeks, after the release of the equivalent Japanese sets, the press release and official set description on Pokemon.com explicitly confirm Walking Wake, Raging Bolt, Iron Leaves, and Iron Crown will all receive Pokémon ex cards, while Wugtrio and Farigaraf will receive Tera Pokémon ex cards. While these Paradox Pokémon ex cards had already been announced for Wild Force and Cyber Judge in Japan, this is the first we've heard of these two Tera Pokémon ex cards.

As usual, Scarlet & Violet - Temporal Forces will be available for players of the Pokémon TCG Live app one day ahead of the physical release, on March 21st. Players should expect this new set to receive a Battle Pass of its own, though the contents of this are of course yet to be announced.

Scarlet & Violet - Temporal Forces will be available across the typical variety of formats. Two different designs will be available for this set's Elite Trainer Box, featuring Walking Wake and Iron Leaves. As usual, these Elite Trainer Boxes will include nine boosters together with the usual assortment of energy cards, card sleeves, and other gameplay accessories. The Walking Wake boxes will include a Flutter Mane illustration rare card, while the Iron Leaves boxes will include an Iron Thorns illustration rare card. Special versions of these Elite Trainer Boxes will also be available through Pokémon Center in the US, Canada, and the UK. These special versions contain two additional booster packs, and as well as an additional copy of the included illustration rare style promo card featuring the Pokémon Center logo. Pokémon Center preorders will be available until March 13th.
