Galarian Zigzagoon to be featured in Pokémon GO's August 2022 Community Day

Niantic has announced that the Tiny Racoon Pokémon, Galarian Zigzagoon will be the featured Pokémon for August 2022's Pokémon GO Community Day. During this event, Galarian Zigzagoon will be appearing more frequently in the wild, with its Shiny variant also being available. The event will be held on August 13th, from 11:00am to 2:00pm local time. Note that this event will only involve Galarian Zigzagoon and its evolution, and will not involve Hoennian Zigazgoon and its evolution.

Galarian Linoone that are evolved into Obstagoon during the event, or within five hours after it concludes, will learn the Charged Attack Obstruct. This move has 15 power and guaranteed to increase the user's Defense and lower the opponent's Defense. in Trainer Battles and 20 power in Gyms and in raids.

The following event bonuses will also be active throughout the event:

• 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon
• 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
• 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive XL Candy from catching Pokémon
• Lure Modules and Incense activated during the event will last for three hours.
• Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise.
• One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of three for the day
• Trades made during the event and up to five hours afterward will require 50% less Stardust

Players can also work together with other Trainers during this event to unlock the Group Play Bonus. If enough Pokémon are caught with help from a single Lure Module, the 3× Stardust bonus for catching Pokémon near the Lured PokéStop will be increased to a 4× bonus Stardust for 30 minutes.

Additionally, players can get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.

A Community Day-exclusive Special Research story, Field Notes: Galarian Zigzagoon, will be available for purchase at US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency). This Special Research can also be gifted to a friend.

Timed Research tasks focused on Galarian Zigzagoon will be available from 11:00am to 7:00pm. Trainers will need to catch a total of 100 Galarian Zigzagoon to complete this Timed Research in full. As they progress through and complete the research tasks, Trainers will receive the following:

• Obstagoon Hat
• Obstagoon Glasses
• Obstagoon Gloves
• Obstagoon Pose

These items will also be available for purchase in the in-game shop after the event.

From 2:00pm to 7:00pm local time, unique Four-Star Raids will take place. When Trainers defeat the Galarian Linoone Raid Boss, Galarian Zigzagoon will appear in a 300-meter radius around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes. These Raids can only be accessed with Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes. Remote Raid Passes cannot be used. The same Shiny odds as the 3-hour event will apply.
