Marmots, including this species, are very average animals to me. Cute enough but not massively so and while they don't have a horrible character it's not great either.
I don't think I've ever seen one before now, but I like them, the white patterns on their faces are interesting. They almost look a little bit feline to me somehow.
I really like them. . . I love most moth caterpillars (very fuzzy!), but these guys are some of the cutest! Another cool thing about them is that they're mostly okay to touch when compared to other fluffy caterpillars - unless you're allergic, you won't have a reaction, because they lack the "stinging" hairs that cause pain when handling other fuzzy caterpillars!
I hadn't heard of them before, and I was surprised by just how incredibly teeny tiny they are. Apparently they're parasitoids and are helpful for biocontrol, which makes any bug a good bug in my book. (there's also a species of fairy wasp called Tinkerbella nana, named after Tinker Bell, which I thought was cute.)
Really cute but also dang [email protected]$$ and ferocious in their own right. Timon has nothing on the real things. I remember watching Meerkat Manor when I was little… Flower!!!
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE creatures. Can't think of anything good to say about them. I had a professor at uni who specialised in them and she used to say that they're nicer than they seem and I used to think that she was such a dubious person.
