Morningstar said:I want to see a region/Generation with an Astrological theme, People, Places and especially pokemon themed after constellations within and without the Zodiac (especially since one of those constellations correspond to an animal that GF seem to have never gotten around to.)
Plus I also think that a Zodiac theme would have a unique opportunity gameplay-wise allowing 6 permutations per game (as they aren't gonna abandon he paired game model anytime soon, that measn 12 permutations total) that would determine what season the game would take palce in and which of the 3 gimmicks (Dyna/Gigantamax, Z moves and Mega Evolution) players could access until the post game, among other factors that would help ensure each file has a different experience better than the binary choice of which version one prefers.
The most appropriate names such such a pair of games would be Malefic and Benefic which would refernce the astrology theme and meet the basic duality criteria. Possible settings would be Greece, or Italy inspired (the former being the source of at least half the constellations as we know them and the latter is the epicenter of the Renaissance which was likely a cause for a boom in astrologians). But I wouldn't mind if the regions were based on somewhere with a little more biodiversity such as Australia or India.
Ideally the Pokedex, both new and returning pokemon should have a roster that evokes most of the constellations, while the towns and other locations are namedfor stars and astronomical phenomena, the naming convention for the Gym Leaders would be the Planets (like Team Galactic+Cynthea) and the E4 would reference the brightest of starts. Alternatively they could also be named after the Zodiacal constellation and the champ is named after Ophiuchus.
For consistency with a different zodiac, the Fire Starter line would be based on a serpent, a bull (close enough to an ox) or maybe a Sheep (kinda close to a ram/goat)
Prolly not gonna happen, but a man can dream.
Apologies for the atrocious title. Anyways, I felt like the gen 9 predictions thread had a sizable amount of more fan ideas and wishlist hopes, so I decided to make a dedicated thread for those here just so that we don't have two threads in one (I don't think there was a thread like this already). So here's the place to put all your gen 9 hopes and dreams, no matter how wild or unrealistic they are.
We can all appreciate constructive criticism, but this is definitely not constructive. I can almost guarantee you that GF employees likely work countless nights during development. Now you may not like the final product, but if anything that’s a reflection of the their poor game design choices; not a lack of effort. For modern-day GameFreak to give at least a 1% effort with the games, instead of a -20% effort.
This isn’t really realistic since the games are always meant to cater to the generation of players; but I would love to see Pokémon games that explored different time periods rather than just different places. I would be really interested to see what interactions with Pokémon were like in the 80s or 50s for example.
A region based on an obscure country.
Evolution for Dunsparce where those freaking wings finally grow into something. An evolution for Mimikyu revealing its hidden form in a safe way. A conjunction evolution path (yeah, you read that right.) for Basculin where both evolve into the same exact form when both are leveled up in your party, with the only obvious difference being the eyes.
The starting town not being a simple town but rather, a huge metropolis where the Pokemon League is located and already within reach but cannot be entered due to needing gym badges from other cities. This metropolis would also be at the very center of the region.
The regional professor being named Acacia or Spruce.
Both box art legendary Pokemon being catchable in the same game despite the version, with the version now affecting which you can catch first.
Pokemon fusion mechanically identical to Kyurem/Necrozma/Calyrex, but for many non-legendary Pokemon instead for yet another legendary. Make Venustoise real, Game Freak!
A Gen 5 spiritual sequel set 15 years after the events of Black 2 and White 2 with more heavy focus on Pokemon fusion. Colress finds a way to fuse Black Kyurem with Reshiram/White Kyurem with Zekrom the fusion is still mechanically identical to the other Kyurem fusions. All three members of the Tao trio are catchable regardless of version but much like the first set of Gen 9 games, which one you catch first depends on the version.
How likely do any of you think that is? (It'll take multiple posts to describe the whole thing)
I see where you're going at with the color scheme and would point out that a Red/Blue/Green/White or Grey vs Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Black would make more sense.
