Well of the 'ears' are actually a propeller or a turbine, then my bet is that it will evolve into an Electric/Flying. How many Pokémon have that combination?

Sorry to dip back into the Sylveon fiasco, but Smash just had a skit

"Sylveon" was using nunchucks, and then she had a brown bag thrown on her by a wrestler that knocked her down (rock smash?), then she was show breaking a sheet of ice. She was also show pulling a long antennae out of a phone with a rose at the top and talking on it.

I know it's not much, but still.

On Smash there were doing "tests" on the girl in the Sylveon suit to see what type she is:

The hosts tested to see if Sylveon was Fighting – she failed.
Next they tested to see if she was Steel – she failed again!
Then they tested if she was Poison type. Yet again, she failed!

That's all we get for now.

So the only options left are:
Normal
Flying
Ground
Rock
Bug
Dragon
Ghost
New Type

Welp, at that rate I'm keeping my bets on New, Flying, or Ghost.

I concur with you. I'm hedging my bets on new type though just because I don't care for its design for the existing types.

Well, I guess elimination is one way to finally get closer to that Eeveeution's damn typing. Though I can't say I care over how they're milking this and toying with our patience.

And looking at the poll...of course they would rule out the least 3 popular choices. Very helpful, haha :p

Zapdos
Emolga
Fan Rotom
Thundurus

Zapdos - Legendary
Emolga - like most Pikaclones, its poor stats make it a poor joke Pokémon (sadly, I loved its design).
Fan Rotom -form, so it's not permanent.
Thundurus - Legendary

So basically, apart from legendaries (which I don't count because I have a rule of not using legendaries) we have only two Pokémon with that typing, only one of them useful in battle, so I guess one more Electric/Flying wouldn't hurt.

Actually, poison and fighting seemed to me to be at least middlingly popular outside of BG, moreso than ground and rock. But yeah, no really popular types eliminated. Curse you, Smash!

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

If Elikiteru's solar electricity generation is actually an ability or something, I might have a new Pokemon for my sun team. :)

Of course, that depends on stats, evolution, moves and whether it actually has such an ability, but I like it so far anyway. I can't wait to see its evolutions.

As for... Gogoat, the grass only typing is good, that was the main thing I had against Sawsbuck.

Yamchan is cute as Hell and I love it to death already, but I think we have enough fighting type Pokemon. Especially after Gen V. Fighting/Grass might make more sense for it, though... 4x flying weakness would be crippling. Also, I don't see why there are pandas in "Poke-France". Not that there's anything wrong with that, it just seems odd.

And Yayakoma is... while an interesting species of bird with an interesting design... another Flying/Normal type. Not much to get excited about there. -.-;

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

Whilst I like the DESIGN of the four pokemon...
I really dislike the STYLE in which they have been drawn.

Except for Gogoat, the other three look so flat. The change of colours looks plain.
There's absolutely NO layering to their bodies. They're just various curves stuck onto each other.

I'm not bashing, as I do like their concepts, but I'm really not liking the approach in style Sugimori took to these designs.

According to PokeJungle, it went like this.

The hosts tested to see if Sylveon was Fighting – she failed.
Next they tested to see if she was strong against ice – she was!
She was strong against Ice, so they tested if she was Steel by using a poison type on her – She wasn’t resistant

So the only type strong against ice out of that is Rock....so that actually really narrows it down. Sylveon is either some new type that's strong against ice, rock type, or they changed around resistances and weaknesses.

Pokebeach posted information they say they were tipped off by an insider (note: they are still classifying it as uncomfirmed, just wanted the info out there)

  • Fairy will be a new type. It is weak to Poison and Steel, immune to Dragon, and super effective against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting-type Pokemon.
  • Sylveon is Fairy-type. Some older Pokemon will be reclassified to Fairy, such as Mawile (Steel/Fairy).
  • Mewtwo has two new formes, not just one. Both are activated via items.
  • The professor’s English name is Patrice.
  • The Starter final evolutions are, as many people predicted, Fire/Psychic, Grass/Fighting, and Water/Dark.
  • The first Gym is Bug, the second is Fairy, and the fourth is Fighting.
  • A few attacks will be dual-typed.
  • There will be a new type of battling style that Flying-type Pokemon and Pokemon with Levitate can participate in.
  • You will be able to see a Pokemon’s EVs at a certain in-game facility. You will be able to boost the EVs through mini-games. It will take about two hours to get one stat to max EVs.

If Pokejungle's translations are accurate, then we can assume the person who fed Pokebeach this information may be lying.

Well, Pokejungle's source doesn't say fairy isn't SE on ice- they might just be listing the most notable strengths there. Given that they've only got half the relations there (they're missing what resists/is immune to is and what it resists), it's not completely implausible, at least.

Given that this is from a confidential source, and Pokebeach themselves are considering that they may have been fed false information, I'd take the conservative approach with the assumption that Pokejungle's translations are correct.

Perhaps there has been some omission, but we shouldn't look for the rumor's lack of information as a means to validate it. Besides, why would they know some of the strengths, but not others?

Though, Pokebeach has mentioned that the source had previously given them information on the exact effects of Parabola charge....but a new move using the same effects of a pre-existing move (i.e., Giga Drain) with a new type doesn't seem that great a prediction to me yet.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

I kind of hope that information is acurrate, because it sounds pretty cool! Except the dual type attacks. Not happy about that.

Though I do hope that, assuming this is a new type, but this info is just someone making stuff up, that the new type does end up resistant to dragon, because Jesus, I'm sick of uber-dragon pokemon wrecking my team.

If the Clefairy and Snubbull Family are getting Retyped with Fairy since they are classified as the Fairy Pokémon (that's if the rumors are true). Then I will go on to say that I want Horsea and Seadra to get retyped too with Dragon as a Secondary Typing since they are classified as the Dragon Pokémon.

I know a certain friend who is going to be ten times more pissed than she was after hearing about the first forme. Me, I just.... ugh... Reassuring to hear that Mewtwo has returned to the BIG spotlight, not...

As for Fairy, as much as I didn't wanted to, I may as well accept it now.

Well, Kingdra does get the Dragon type, so it's not really necessary.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

I'm still unconvinced of those rumors, largely because of the starters gaining psychic/dark/fighting typings upon their evolution. I don't know how many times it's been speculated those would be the secondary typings for several previous starters because of "hurrr another perfect triangle"
