I don't get why Helioptile has those weird lines on its face, though. : / However, I am always glad to see new Pokemon based on Aussie wildelife.

I am starting to like Helioppoasesite, it shows a lot of personality in the trailer.

It's kind of weird we got a fakemon Robin based on Robinhood and later got a real robin Pokemon based on archery.

From the new trailer. People can say what they will about this Pokemon, but it just gets cooler and cooler! I love it! Also the panda looked awesome, as I expected.

Right? Seeing its ears fully expanded is just too cool.

You mean its nostrils and mouth? Or the line connecting his closed eyelids? Every line seems to have a purpose, the uppermost two forming the triangle on his face.

And has anyone else noticed the little fluffs of fur on the back of the panda's neck? That's a pretty cool little addition.

I had a sneaking suspicion that the "ears" were a folded up frill. I have to say I like the lizard a lot more now that I've seen it in action.

I'm mostly talking about the lines between the eyes and on top of the eyes, I don't see why they're there. Is this a reference to solar power dishes I'm not seeing?

It appears the starters learn a move of their own type at level 5.

Raising Pokémon

Edit: Also wouldn't surprise me if Helioptile had Solar Power as one of its abilities.

So the bird is known as "Fletchling" then? (fletch + fledgling) That name is awesome. :)

Fletchling learning flame charge seems both odd and brilliant to me. Perhaps that means its evo's may be fire / flying instead of normal? Would be pretty cool in my opinion.

Not necessarily. Staraptor learns Close Combat, yet it isn't a Flying/Fighting Pokémon, same goes to Noctowl and Psychic-type moves.

i wouldn't be surprised if he turns into a frill lizard. for one, based on his description he is an arid lizard. also, his posture is very similar to an Australian frill. plus, well his ears come out into a frill which is it's biggest giveaway. I hope he keeps his normal typing upon evolution, it leaves many possibilities and a great movepool.

The english names are very good. Gogoat, Helioptile and Pancham are awesome. But I not like Fletchling. It is the worst regional bird name. But I also start to like Helioptile more. Pancham is still my favourite of the new ones though. Actually he and Palpitoad are my favourite pokes.

i think he already can be confirmed as a frilled lizard. he just may get a bigger frill when he evolves!

After seeing the frills and how the helioptile looks in combat, he is now on my team.

Could that little thing on the corner be a pre-evolved form of Gogoat ?

Am I the only person who thinks the Gogoat's cry sounds like an engine revving/starting? (Futher adding to my thoughts that it is based on a motorbike or some form of transport like that.)
