Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's nothing but an effect for the website.

That is the weirdest and most out-of-place effect I've ever seen in my life for a website.

Plus if you extract the image from the source, as someone did on /vp/, it looks suspiciously like a silouhette.

I was able to get rid of the other stuff except for the background, this is what I got.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

I thought that moving thing (leaves??) on the background was part of the silhouette.

I'm thinking I'm either really slow or blind, because I have no idea what any of you are talking about regarding this silhouette thing. I don't see anything except the regular background.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

So it's...nothing? It certainly doesn't look like a Pokemon or person. Maybe it''s hinting at types though? X side has leaves and a forest, Y side has a sky and darkness.

I know there was some symbol spinning around the dark area though, I'll see if I can grab it.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

Well, looking at the proper background picture, it doesn't really look like a new Pokémon silhouette. But as Rainy Day said, perhaps it is a hint related to Xerneas and Yveltal's types? Grass/Fairy and Flying/Dark? Anyway, I would love to see that spinning symbol/thing without the background.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

I like the English names. Pancham is probably the best name, although Helioptile is pretty good. I figured that they'd keep Gogoat's name due to being a novelty Pokemon. Fletching is an okay name. Hopefully, it does evolve into a cool regional bird. Helioptile is still my favorite out of the new Pokemon, but Pancham has grown on me and I could see both of them getting on my teams at some point. The starters learning elemental STAB moves at level five should make the rival battles more of a challenge. Getting them at level one would be surprising, but I doubt that they'd get rid of that tradition.

This is the best I could get (deleting too much stuff caused the swirl to stop spinning). Looks purple-ish...maybe like some sort of smog?

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

They did a decent job naming the Pokemon that have debuted so far. Let's face it, Black and White could've had some better English Names. (I mean, Sawk, Throh, Trubbish...)

I'm thinking in terms of gameplay.

Fennekin's final form will probably be really fast with high attack power, but frail defense, making it an effective sweeper.

Chesepin's final form will probably be a jack of all trades kinda thing, where it won't have any weak points, but it won't excel at anything either. (So it'd probably make a good sub-seeder)

Froakie's final form probably will be a tank where it's kinda slow, but can endure hits and dish the damage back.

Either way, I'm excited for X and Y!

I just see some dark clouds and leaves moving. Some background effects, there is no silouhette in there. I think you are seeing a bit too much into things.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

It's all piecing together now!

So let's say the background does hint at types.
Xerneas = leaves (Grass), forest (Fairy)
Yvetal = purple smog (Poison), sky (Flying)

based on current rumors, Fairy type is suppose to be weak to Poison. So maybe Xerneas is the savior of the forest, while Yvetal is no good and causes pollution in the sky?

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

I guess that would make sense since Xerneaus is all graceful and elegant while Yvetal is all intimidating and looking like it'll snap your head right off...

I wonder it Pancham will get another type upon evolving, like maybe a dark type since it's known as the Naughty Pokemon.

But Froakie learns Quick Attack, which hints at it being the speedster of the trio.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

I retract my last statement, because I just realized that would make Xerneas extremely vulnerable to Yvetal >_>

I think Chespin's gonna be the tank, being a hedgehog and all.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

A lot of Pokemon learn priority attacks that are still slow.

Vaporeon and Glaceon can learn Quick Attack...

Piplup and Oshawot can learn Aqua Jet...

Scraggy and Duskull with Sucker Punch...

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

If WPM is right and the final evos do have the types he says, then Fenne will wall the Fairies and the other two will be vulnerable to them. Then again, I also observed that Hydreigon would be just about dead in the water since on top of it's pile of weaknesses, now it has a quad weakness to Fairy.

It's also shown using acrobatics and is stated to be able to jump three story buildings. Of the three, he has been shown to be the most agile.
