Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

I can't really imagine myself commanding Monorpale !
It feel weird that the Sword Floating & fighting on his own while trainer standing far away commanding it.
I can't even imagine Monorpale battling and unleashing move like Hyper Beam , Night Shade , Slash , Psyco Cut , Will-o-wist etc !
It doesn't feel cool .
Sword aren't meant to float & fight on its own , Sword are meant to be wield !!!
Therefore , I don't this Pokemon might a successfully Marketable Pokemon .
Unless Somebody wield Monorpale and engage in a fight !
My Opinion after seeing this- ''I want to watch/Read an Anime/Manga where Monorpale is a ''Talking Pokemon'' with Love & Hate relationship with The Protagonist and The Protagonist will wield Monorpale like an actual sword to fight Enemies !
For Example , If there is a Movie Where At the climax Ash wield Monorpale and use ''Sacred Sword'' to Cute a Fake Pokemon in half then Monorpale will be a huge success and the Movie will be super hit .

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

It becomes two swords!
It could be Duorpale. And its final evolution could be a pile of swords!

How many pokemons undergo the 1 2 3 evolution? LOL

By the way, the new pokemons reminds me of cursed swords you see in stories.

And... also, there was a flying sword that attacked on its own in Rune Factory 3. You could own it as your pet or something...

I love the new Sword Pokémon and the new Steel/Ghost Typing makes me love it even more, I really don't understand all the hate it's been getting around the interwebz. People must be aware by now that every New Generation has atleast a few Inorganic Pokémon, so this shouldn't come as so much of a surprise by now XD.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

Hm... If Monorpale is stupid and unoriginal, what is cool and original then? More boring dogs, cats, bird and fish-based Pokémon? Really, I don't understand how Monorpale, Vanillite, Klink, Chandelure, Cofagrigus and others are unoriginal while Pokémon based on the repetitive animals are super original. Feel free to dislike the swordmon, but no, it isn't unoriginal or stupid.

As a matter of fact, I don't hate animal-based Pokémon or anything like that, as you can note looking to my avatar. I am just legitimately trying to understand the logic behind comments like Force Fire's.

I agree. People can hate on it as much as they want, however, there's nothing about it that's unoriginal. How is a Pokemon based on a Sword unoriginal?? It hasn't ever been done before, so it seems pretty original to me. It even has a unique typing no other Pokemon currently have.

I am actually thinking it could get a evo line split with different typing. Assuming it does evolve, as it seems to me like a one-stager in a way.
Honestly, I'm not really feeling this one's design. It looks more like a weapon from a Zelda game initially to me than a Pokemon. It might grow on me after awhile or when we see it in a battle scene, but I don't quite like its design. Steel/Ghost is a really good type combination though.
I actually think contrary to your opinion: a more fantasy-esque route is what the series needs IMO. This kind of design is what I wanted out of fairy type, although at the moment they disappoint me. This does not and is an excellent candidate for my story team.

Sword aren't meant to float & fight on its own , Sword are meant to be wield !!!

Except this is NOT a sword. It's a Pokémon that happens to look like a sword. Also, it isn't meant to be a marketable Pokémon; the starters, mascots and Sylveon already fill that role.

Foxes aren't mean to breath fire either, yet we have Vulpix, Fennekin, etc...

Monorpale isn't the sword, people, it is a spirit possessing it or else it wouldn't be a Ghost-type Pokémon. I guess the blue eye and that blue thingy holding the sheath is what Monorpale itself really is.

Wow, the sword ghost pokemon seems really nice. And it probably has Levitate as one of it's abilities. I definitely want to catch it.

I hope it has an evolution though.

I too hope Monorpale has an evolution. It's a frigging sword. Imagine the awesomeness of an evolved version :D
Reminds me of Black Adventures.

Monorpale has more impact if it is standalone. I'd rather not see them take the Litwick route and have it become a different weapon or even a larger sword. I'm not against Litwick's line, but the way they evolve feels silly in the case of Monorpale. Also, I expect that this Pokemon will have a skyrocketing Attack stat. In fact, I'll find it amusing if Haxorus has more Attack than it. It is clearly nothing to mess around with.

Oh, it has an actual blade?

Kinda reminds me of that one Sinnoh myth...what if the guy was smiting Pokemon with a Pokemon? D:

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

Talonflame! Finally a bird-like Pokémon that I REALLY like. I'm probably not going with Fennekin, so Talonflame is gonna be a nice replacement for the Fire-type on my team. Noivern is awesome too, a really great design.

Also, I had expected that at least one person would vote "None, I hate them all!" (I could never discard every Pokémon of a generation myself, though). Seems I was wrong.
