Wasn't Gen IV more about 'Free Will and Emotions'? Since Cyrus wanted to create a world without emotion, thus making people the same and robotic in a sense.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

Idk I don't think Gen VI is going to be about opposing forces...something just tells me that it's not what GF's going for this time. Yveltal and Xerneas just look so different, I'm not even entirely sure these two pokemon will be opposing each other this time. But since they haven't given a single clue to the villains for this gen, I can't figure much out about what they could even represent. I'm sticking to the idea that maybe Yveltal and Xerneas aren't opposing each other.

I can only gather by Masuda's infatuation with the Carnac stones that King Arthur and Merlin might be involved. Meaning Honedge might be GF's take on Excalibur, making possible an evolution named Hexcalibur (I don't take credit for that).

I'm still undecided about Honedge, but I know one thing for certain - if I catch one it's going to be called Hexcalibur. Freaking awesome name.

Only a few more days before CoroCoro will leak...

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

Sword aren't meant to float & fight on its own , Sword are meant to be wield !!!
I have to admit, it would be awesome to see a Pokemon use this as a weapon. And if a Pokemon can, I know exactly who will be given this sword, as he's always been my in-game hero.
Same goes for Shadow Claw; it's just not good enough. Golurk only gets by with Shadow Punch because of Iron Fist.

Funny you mention that, because Shadow Claw is pretty much the strongest physical Ghost move other than Shadow Force.
And not every Ghost can learn it, as apparently my poor Golurk lacks fingernails or something. Yeah, we really do need some stronger Ghost type moves. =/
We have been waiting 10 years for a possessed suit of armor pokemon. If we don't get it now I don't know when we'll be getting it.

Though admittedly it's a possessed suit of clay / super ultra awesome mega mecha go! Pokemon.

Looks like it has some aesthetic potential in doubles and triples:

Golurk may be a better center though.
Before you ask, yes he is.
I envisioned it to be wielded by Golurk as soon as I saw Honedge, because I felt they were suited for each other since I thought Honedge will be a big sword.
You're not the only one. The second I saw it, I thought, "My Golurk would look awesome using that!" I could just see a Golurk tearing into battle, clutching the sword as he struck....

 The fangirl in me is squealing.

Am I the only one who really wants Honedge to have some kind of connection to Golurk?

No.

GAH! You guys are making my inner fangirl go completely insane! Oh those fan arts, those beautiful Golurk/Honedge fan arts...! :XD2:

But in all seriousness, I'd love to see a connection between Golurk and Honedge. I so want my Riser to be able to use that sword in battle, as it would be epic. Even if he can't, there's still going to be a Honedge on my team as a back-up to my Golurk. (Oh yeah, I don't care what it takes. I am having an Automaton with me when I hit Kalos.)

This Gen is shaping up to be epically awesome!

Not thrilled by the new pokes. I really dislike where they are going with the Fairy type. There are no inovations just someting cute, pink-white and fluffy! NOt digging it!

The Goronda looks good! Goronda and it's pre Evo are te Beartic line of Kalos.

The Dark psychic evo is looking OK!

Cotton candy kitty is pretty cute, as well as the flamingo. Inkay and Malimar have a nice typing, I'll have to see how they handle their evolution method. Pangoro is okay. I much prefer Pancham though

Everyone pretty much guessed Xerneas and Yvetal's types right. I though more dual typed for Xerneas, and I feel a bit bad for Yvetal, he's stuck with old types :p

I'm getting both X and Y, but now I don't know which one I want to start first. I love Xerneas, but the flamingo and Skrelp are only in Y...dilemma.

I'm ecstatic that finally the version mascots are not Dragons. This just pumps up my expectations for Fennekin not becoming a Fire/Fighter and this Generation's seudolegendary not being a Dragon.

Also, I always wanted a Dark/Psychic Pokémon.

I hope the bird evolves into something based on a plague doctor. The healing motif and the bird mask looking shape kind of hints at it.

Also I love Pancham's evolution. I was expecting to be disappointed but man I think that might be one of if not my favorite gen 6 mon right there.

The cotton candy thing kind of looks like a poodle.

I knew the shape was vaguely familiar.
Definitely think it's a shout out. We already have a super sentai reference, a mahou shojou one isn't farfetched.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

I'm wondering what type we could get for a plague doctor fairy, if it gains a secondary type. Flying's an obvious one if it sticks more with flamingo, but the healer ability indicates the bird mask is the way it'll go. It could be cool if it's like the doctor itself caught the plague and it becomes fairy/poison.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

I'm not seeing plague doctor. Since it's the perfume pokemon, I think it's shape is more related to a nose and smoke/perfume. If it turns into anything, I'm guessing it will go a Perfume Atomizer route.

The pink CardCaptor Sakura bird and the cotton candy thingy are sooo cute <3 Pancham's evolution looks BAMF, definitely going to be in my team. It makes Beartic and Ursaring look like two little puppies. Man, choosing six Pokémon for a team is gonna be hard this time. I didn't like the evolution of the squid thingy, though, for now it is along Talonflame and Litleo, the only Generation VI Pokémon I don't appreciate.

Speculation: The when the squid Pokémon uses Turn Over, it turns over upside down. If it ends a battle in this state, it evolves.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

We know the squids have two abilities, yet the other three Pokemon only have one listed; would it be safe to think that they only have one ability? Kinda disappointing, if true.

Edit: OK, Pangoro has two. So it's just the fairies that have one then.

Agreed, I'm not really happy with No Guard Honedge. There is still hope for a different hidden ability though.
