Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

I really like most of the New Pokemon conceptually and look forward to seeing them in the show and such, but I honestly can't say any have struck me as being ones that I'd necessarily use on a team. But that'll change once we see evolutions and such.

Is anyone else bothered by Inkay being Dark/Psychic? It works for Malimar, but...it just doesn't fit Inkay in any way, really. I can kinda see Psychic, but it's not Dark whatsoever. I think Inkay should've been pure-Psychic.

Posting for new page:
Exclusive Pokemon are also based on life and destruction. Details in my previous post.Nothing is random.
Forgot to mention the rest. LOVE the bancho panda, even if the cape is silly. Ridiculous typing on that squid, I love it! That and honedge are definetely on my team.

Agreed. I would prefer it being Psychic/Water or just plain Psychic. Its design doesn't give off that Dark-type feel.

I wonder what it's Pokedex entry will say. The Frillish line is rather cute too, for being ghost type and killing ship crews :u

Their Ghost-type was added in really late according to interviews, I imagine the PokeDex was made darker to reflect that and they added glowing eyes. Probably why Dream World gives them "Damp" too.

I think it does give off that Dark-type feel more than Vullaby's design and Psychic/Water would be really lame, one of the best things about the squids is that they are based on sea animals, but aren't Water-types. Not to mention that having an awesome unique type is way better than having the Slowbro and Slowking's type. I wouldn't mind if the first stage (Maika) was pure Water, though.

Huh?

Vullaby is, well, a carrion bird using bones as a diaper.

Oh, woops! I thought Inkay was referring to the first stage (Maika). The second stage (Karamanero) certainly gives off the Dark/Psychic vibe.

It's gonna take me awhile to get the names down :p

So? Cubone uses a skull as a helmet, yet it doesn't give a Dark-type vibe to me. The closest thing to a Dark Pokémon I see in Vullaby is its colors.

I could honestly see Cubone and Marowak being Ground/Dark had they come about Gen II.

Vultures are often stereotypically portrayed as the starving flock of birds, watching closely for any dying animal, waiting for them to die so they can feast on them. I guess in a way that can be seen as dark.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

My team will definitely consist of Fennekin, Pangoro, Honedge (Which is likely to get an evolution considering it's classified as the Dagger Pokemon when it's clearly a sword), and Noivern. I'll likely add Ryhorn and maybe Skrelp if nothing else.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

Out of the new Pokemon revealed in this month, Maika and Karamanero are my favorites. Maika is just so cute and then it evolves into such a cool tough looking Pokemon like Karamanero. Their typing is great and it is kind of refreshing that they're based on sea animals, but they aren't Water types. A Water/Dark type would have been cool though, but this works fine. Shushup is a close second because it is so adorable. I really hope that it evolves into a Fairy/Flying type. I'm surprised that it hasn't been revealed yet. Goronda is a great evolved form for Pancham. The design works and the typing is great. Peroppafu is cute, but doesn't do much for me.

Xerneas and Yveltal's typing are good, even though I thought that Xerneas would at least be part Grass. Still, they work fine.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

Am I the only one who isn't all in on Karamanero because it's too similar to Calamarimon? That's why I'm praying that Pokemon don't start fusing together, because that would be blatantly ripping off Digimon, considering the english name for the newest series of Digimon Anime and that's all that they do is fuse together.

Here's hoping!

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

I'm surprised how (mostly) everyone is thrilled with the psychic/dark-mon. Imo it's the worst in gen VI besides that candy thingy -mon.

But opinions are divers and maybe next month will be more pokes for me.

BTW we are exactly 3 months away from the RELEASE! 92 days counting down.

I'd say, the 13th. That's when the CoroCoro issue is officially released, which is when the international announcement should be.
