Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

I'm gonna go and say it right now but watch as Yancham (the Panda) gains Dark as a Secondary Type. His look and the fact that he is classified as the Naughty Pokémon assures this for me. As for his ability I'm gonna say Sap Sipper I don't know why but I just have a feeling. Also watch as that leaf somehow turns into a bamboo fighting stick that or either he'll gain a bamboo fighting stick and still retain the leaf in his mouth. Should I maybe sig this?

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

like several others have mentioned, i hope the lizard evolves into a frilled lizard and his necktie ears multiply into a full frill to mach the aforementioned parabola solar satellite. only then might i actually like it. i'd actually love it then.

although if he evolves into a bipedal theropod like reptile with a frill... mimicking the SUPER ERRONEOUS AND MISINFORMATION SPREADING DILOPHOSAURUS FROM JURASSIC PARK I WILL BE LIVID.

i'm a little bummed none of the gen 6 noobs were bugs. i'll keep my fingers crossed for my water/bug though. xD

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

I'm not really a fan of the new lizard, either, but I could change my mind depending on its evolution (assuming it gets one). And Electric normal is a strange combination. Apparently it turns sunlight into it's electricity? Maybe it has an alternate form that is just normal type, and in sunlight, it gains the electric part? That would be interesting and not to out-there of an idea.

The robin I was kind of meh about, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. The panda is great, and yeah it totally looks like it would be dark type, rather than fighting, and it's new move, Smart Remark, also sounds dark type, like Nasty Plot, etc. The goat I think is pretty cool, and I have a feeling it won't have an evo or pre-evo and is more of a gimmick thing. Like when you get to town you have to go catch one to ride around on, or something. It's more of a game function than designed for use in competitive battle.

Nah. The people at Deviantart are way more talented than Game Freak's design team.

Fixed. Ken doesn't design the Pokémon, he just draws the final artworks.

Yep, I also think it will gain the Dark-typing. From the way it looks down to its classification, its name meaning and even the new move it's advertising everything seems like a Dark-type. Also if it does go ahead with the theme that I think it's running with (banchō [the delinquent meaning, not the government one]/mobster) then yes, a bamboo stick also seems likely to me; GatoRage suggested earlier that its evolutions could use a bamboo stick similar to how mobster's use baseball bats in most media. I think it would work.

I wonder if Gogoat will have a pre-evolution or if it is a standalone Pokémon.

Hmm, no, they absolutely aren't.

Honestly, I've never liked pretty much any fakemon from any site (I can count the ones I do one one hand). They're always way too cluttered and just overall...meh.

Also, I'm very disappointed we didn't get any news on Sylveon or Xerneas/Yvetal. If they don't show their types on Pokemon Smash, I'm gonna go crazy.

I'm still sort of wondering why our new lizard pokemon has ears.

The top of the lizard's head reminds me of the end of a propeller. It also looks like its wearing one of those vintage pilot caps. But then I go back to my earlier thoughts about it possibly evolving into a frilled lizard and I really have no idea what it's drawing inspiration from. Maybe the English (or other language) name will help clear it up.

Instead of an airplane propeller, it could be like a turbine. Those are used to generate electricity.

It's got that pointy head too, that actually does kind of remind me of a propeller.

How did this not occur to me? It is the "Generator Pokemon" after all! xD A turbine propeller makes more sense than aeroplane propeller too.

I do love the panda. I have been waiting for a panda pokemon forever. I'm thinking Yayakoma, the bird is my fav though. I swear to God, the more I look at the it more I love it. It's just so quirky looking. I'm totally catching on in the game. First one I see, that bitch is mine. That it knows flame charge is cool, too. Fire moves are always useful in the early game.

Of them, the most interested I'm in is probably the lizard, electric/normal is a unique typing and there's some unique ideas they can pull off with that. Of them, I like the idea of solar panels idea the most, which would fit the "Generator Pokemon" description and plays into lizards being cold blooded and absorbing heat.

I personally believe Erikiteru may have been partially inspired by the Spotted Salamander, as that species was discovered recently to be capable of absorbing sunlight and converting it as its own energy.

I want to think that its a lizard, but we've never had a normal type reptile/amphibian in all 5 generations so that would just be something really wierd. I really want to see it become one of those big lizards with the big fan around its head but its normal type just seems to make that improbable. Maybe it'll be like some generic beast thing with an electric twist then??

ALSO, since we know it absorbs light to make electricity this pretty much rules out the chance of a literal "LIGHT" type, right? I mean we can still have a Light type based on goodness and fairies... UNLESSS Normal type is a placeholder for now??? HMMMMMM???

- but these are just my conspiracy theories afterall...

Oh! I think that's a great theory! The spotted Salamander also happens to be yellow and black as well, like the new pokemon.

Re: Revealed Gen VI Pokemon Discussion/Speculation Thread

Sorry to dip back into the Sylveon fiasco, but Smash just had a skit

"Sylveon" was using nunchucks, and then she had a brown bag thrown on her by a wrestler that knocked her down (rock smash?), then she was show breaking a sheet of ice. She was also show pulling a long antennae out of a phone with a rose at the top and talking on it.

I know it's not much, but still.
