I'm not trying to debate, it's just that the math didn't add up.

I'm predicting that Obama will pull out of Afghanistan in full when the time comes. The war will be unpopular right during a tough election, and he will likely want to accomodate whatever voters he can. I certainly don't think a shift such as this mid-course will lead to a stunning victory in time for Obama to use it politically.
