It's notable that Breath of the Wild started out as a Wii U game. As did Super Mario Odyssey, which started development in 2013. Masuda did not direct any Gen VII games and has not directed a game since the 2013 release of XY. It's entirely possible he transitioned to a full time Producer instead, but this is a notable absence. I think the Switch games have been in development longer than is being assumed. I doubt Game Freak would leave something this notable up in the air. It's possible, it just seems very unlikely.

Just you watch, Pokemon Ice and Pokemon Fire:

That was really reaching though, sorry. It just struck me as kinda funny because it oddly reminded me of when he posted a picture of the sun and the moon a few days before Sun and Moon were announced.

Roll your eyes at this post all you want, but keep a mental note of this if we get a Hot and Cold version, Ice and Fire version, ect.

I don't know if they would do Pokemon Fire and Ice due to Fire Red and Leaf Green. They have never reused titles outside of remakes, but they are breaking a lot of patterns/traditions. I would like the title thematically, mind you. I just don't think it is likely.

That makes little sense to be a hint. Why would he say specifically Tokyo?

Fire/Ice could work for a Kanto Reboot. Box legends being regional variant Moltres and Articuno or something like that

First I'd say we should be cautious about reading too much into his tweet. Not everything he tweets is gonna be a hint or clue. That said this does feel a tiny little bit like what he did just before SM were announced. Back then he tweeted twice. Once with a pic of the globe that they have in their front lobby along with their logo. Then another time of the full moon in the sky. It was very cryptic stuff and only really made sense as clues after the fact, but in the end he was definitely hinting at SM. Again be careful about reading too much into his tweets, but do keep an eye on him too lol

Also I doubt they'd use "Fire" in a title again since they've already used it in Fire Red. Even if it represented heat in some way they'd use a different word.

Plus and minus could work with a Postive and Negative degreese theme

Come to think of it, didn't Team Rocket in one of the manga fuse the Legendary Birds? If we get a Kanto revisit sometime down the line in Gen 8, I wonder if they would try going that route or something. Other than the 2nd movie, we didn't get much lore about the Birds.

Temperatures in the negatives are always cold, but temperatures in the positives aren't always hot. 10 degrees Fahrenheit is still pretty dang cold.

What about Heat and Freeze? Could those work for potential names?

Unless they're Kanto reboots/sequels. :p
