We'll get it in due time, just learn to be patient. Unfortunately, the downside to releasing games year after year since Gen 5 has caused people to be impatient for info dumps and whatnot.
Which is a big issue. I wouldn’t mind more time between them to save money since I’m one of those special edition peoples.

There's really nothing bad about Ishihara making that announcement when he did. There's most likely a good reason for why they did it when they did, so with that said I highly doubt that we'll get the first reveal of the titles as late as E3. I also wouldn't say that the Ishihara announcement was random either, because they usually plan and record that stuff a couple weeks in advance or so.

I think they announced it because people were mad about USUM being on the 3ds

Unlikely. Again they plan these things out well in advance. Why would they rush to record something just because their fan base is full of spoiled brats? If they won't acknowledge (real) leaks and people dataming stuff why would they put in the work? It makes little sense for them and Nintendo to put something together like that. Because even if TPC wanted to do that they'd still need clearance from Nintendo. Then Nintendo would need to make space in the E3 direct and re-order stuff potentially. That would mess them up. This stuff is planned out weeks in advance if not months. They don't freak out just because people are idiots.

talking about datamining the datamine its a difficult practice but year a year happen the same thing finally everything its spoiled for someone expert this is not question for you its on the air ¿someday the measures anti datamine are present in pokemon? i mean you dont know anything wihout shows in trailers because in other case you dont notice nothing

The only way to avoid spoilers in this fandom is to get away from anything associated to pokemon for a few days. If you're talking about the pre-release info dumps, that is a lot harder to avoid, since you'd have to do it for several months. I've never seen anyone accomplish it. And today's info is a lot more spoilery than it once was. They almost reveal the entire dex and everything else in the game before anyone has it. You want discovery? You want to be surprised and awed? Take the no spoilers challenge. I guarantee you it's harder than any Nuzlocke in existence.

That’s honestly one of the reasons I kinda hate this fandom. There’s just an uncalled-for obsession to know everything. Like, what do people even gain from leaking? What are you even doing with your life? I would probably enjoy these games a lot more if nothing were revealed at all before the games (both officially and leaked).

Idk. This current “leak season” just seems to early for anything anyway. What do we even have from it? A few “sources” that don’t really say much? And people are all over it like gospel. It’s nothing. We literally have nothing, people.

Sorry, feeling kinda negative. Wasn’t calling anyone out personally, if it seemed like I was.

To be fair, the new stuff is the only thing that brings most of us back. We love to see new things and stuff being done in ways we haven't seen before in Pokemon. If they didn't change things and show us new stuff, I doubt any of us would be interested in the slightest. Just...don't spoil the entire fucking game. I could do with one or two really well done trailers, maybe showing a few pokemon, the starters, the box legends, the region (just a few highlights please, don't even give us a map), and whatever story you might have in mind along with your new features. I guarantee you, I was several times more impressed with games and movies when I saw very little about them.

Actually I like that they show us the map. Helps us see just what we're in for region design wise, you can tell things like how linear a region is or how much content was added. And after the USUM's pre-release and the "new areas" they showed off then, I can't really trust them to do teasers. Teasers like that can be deceptive.

TBH this all over.

We literally got a paragraph from Ishihara about these games being a thing, and that's it .

Nothing else. No titles. No release date, nothing.

And yet, here we are, 112 pages later, into the leaks thread, without anything being revealed yet.

And honestly, most of the leaks that are out there are probably all 100% fake anyways

I've tried doing the "No spoiler challenge" for SM and even USUM, and I agree that it is pretty hard. But, I think at least on my end the best way to do it is to avoid the Internet all together and just stick to checking the weather and email only. I think that's why Gens 3 and 4 have stuck in my mind so well compared to other Generations is that during those times, there were less spoilers to be had.

Once we get a title drop and release date, I'm gonna cut myself off and see how it flies.

I hope we get a nice medium- enough information, but don’t spoil the entire game. Both ends of the spectrum- too low information and too much information are bad.

Reveal the starters and the legends, some Pokemon, whatever the new gimmick (or some Megas/Z-Moves but not all) is. Keep (one of) the battle facilities under wraps.

I can understand the hesitation given the direction they've gone in since gen 5. I can see it in many ways. So they give us a map. If it is supposed to be open world, it won't be readily visible. People will draw lines over it, speculating what the road you'll be "forced" along will be. Then you find out where we're going, there are no roads. It's not something you can easily make apparent unless you outright say it. I only saw one or two trailers for Odyssey, and was shocked and surprised when the game itself was open world. I could be dense, but the trailers didn't make that apparent at all to me.

I still see a massive drawback in this where you instantly know everything that is going to be in the region. Then again, from what I remember, the features of the region were moot next to identifying where our gyms are going to be. Even for Alola, everything seemed to be a trial but that was not the case. It is different to see what's on the map compared to what it looks like in game. As I wrote this, I was looking over previous maps and forgot how great they are. They even look better than the game itself does, until Alola pretty much gave us a perfect representation of what was in the game. True, they no longer detail the routes, but you still see everything. Yes, the map will never be a full representation of the game, but would it mean more if you all of a sudden came upon something you've never seen before? Something you haven't seen on a map? You totally did not know it was there and you have no idea what it looks like?

TBH I like leak season...

Even if they are mostly fake, some of the ideas these leaks have are pretty cool.

Like for example that one leak in Sun/Moons leak season that came up with some “power up” concept for 2nd Evolutions and stuff

For a guy like me who uses the Internet every day, including YouTube, avoiding spoilers can be near impossible. Especially when some YouTubers I've subscribed to sometimes don't seem to give a damn about spoiler-free titles or thumbnails. The frustration is real at those moments of apparent inconsiderance.

Exactly! I couldn't agree more with what you just said. That's why I don't find myself subscribing to a lot of PokéTubers. I remember when Pokémon Sun and Moon copies (or rather, software pirates) were leaked a week early, I found myself clearing out my YouTube home page which was full of a ton of suggested videos that contained leaks for the games. I cleared them out pretty good, I must of spent an hour cleaning up leak suggestions. So then when the time when Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon was leaked a few days early, I hardly got any video suggestions containing leaked stuff from that game. Though that didn't stop me from checking other places on my own accord. Lol. I hope I can better control myself for the Switch games. I really want to avoid spoilers as much as possible. I think that I will find myself enjoying the Pokémon games much better that way. Though I like to always know what the Pokémon are in the games, just so I can plan a team around my Starter. Those type of leaks I find okay to look at. But videos containing the story and other spoilers, I am against.

I don't mind spoilers about in-game data. I need to know all the pokemon in advance to build my team etc.

But I hate storyline spoilers. When I found Iris was the Champion before b2w2 came out i was devastated.

Custom firmware for the Switch is already well into development so if the game does come out end of this year or like early 2019, a Datamine might be possible as the peeps at Project Pokemon still have to learn about the game's files being in a new console and unfamiliar territory so compared to ORAS, SM and USUM, it won't happen straight away.
If the game is late 2019 and we get a spin off this year, custom firmware will be flowing and a Datamine was probably happen as soon as they get it.

This was something I did notice about the anime: As the soon as the switch game was announced, that's when the anime began to rush.

Just a little pick I saw but yeh, regarding a datamine, it's going to happen regardless.

I'm not even sure about pokemon anymore. When I went up against the Ultra Beasts in Sun and Moon, I legitimately did not know what to do against them, and had to figure out what their weaknesses were myself. True, I've never been in the situation where I totally do not know what pokemon exist, and I have made my teams beforehand for each of them. The only thing I didn't know is where they are found in the game. I don't like having to waste time faffing about one area until I feel like I've seen every pokemon I can, and even by my methods, I didn't find all of them, but I did find what I needed. If it was one of those pokemon I didn't find, what would I have done then? Granted, Sun and Moon made finding certain pokemon a royal pain, and there's no way I would've thought of doing that in a hundred years. Not to mention it's folly to even believe you can figure out how to evolve pokemon on your own in some situations. You HAVE to have a guide of some sort. For once, I would like to make my own pokemon discoveries, but I guess I'll still have to look up evolution methods where they apply.

you have good point its like almost like holiday for something its like happy hour its like infinite eixamples related for leak its something defines fandom so strongly because i find cases people complains because needs leaks like drugs people know things because people can do that in moment anyone cant have acess in information and awaiting until release i tell you people leaves for have obssesion the essence of obsession as you tell its repeat the same thing over over again because make feel something but you awake someday and this thing dont make the same thing and that day you regret all time you do the same thing along so much years in your life thats it

its difficult but not impossible

About responses to leaks within the fandom: I don't think it's unique to Pokemon. That is internet culture, by and large. I think movies are the only thing that avoid it as of late, and sometimes that's not even successful. But music, television, games: it's all data and there's going to be a fan or person looking for a quick hit that'll know how to interpret it. I think you really do just have to do an Internet blackout at that point. If I'm remembering right, there might be extensions to block certain sites. Even ones that change words into something of your choosing. So there are tools to avoid these things if people need them. We just have to accept that it happens, study how we learned about the leaks ourselves, and keep that in mind when stuff actually starts happening. It's silly, but having a plan mapped out beforehand can help so much.

That's my plan, although hahhhhhhhh. I have no self-control with these things.
