TBH I like leak season...

Even if they are mostly fake, some of the ideas these leaks have are pretty cool.

Like for example that one leak in Sun/Moons leak season that came up with some “power up” concept for 2nd Evolutions and stuff
I didn't like the SM hype season because the starer leaks (Thats probably just because I don't like them, but still)

I hope the Gen 8 staters don't look humanoid

I don't think I'm too fond of humanoid Pokemon in general. I've noticed that the starters tend to stray away from that though, even the ones that stand on two legs and are part Fighting type.

I'm hoping they do another set of dual-typings that haven't been done on starters before. Alola's starters were pretty good imo.

I think they look too humanoid. Especially incineroar. Like, they look like humans in costumes to me (mabye not primarina but defintally the other 2). I think gen 3,4, and 5 were in the perfect middle where they weren't "Literally my mom's (insert animal here )" and " Literally humans in costumes". The gen 6 starters are a little humanoid but not to the point where its actually a problem

I agree with basically everything you said. Except about primarina. I feel that its hair and mannerism are just too humanoid, but that’s really whatever.

I think one thing that might be contributing to this problem is that lately they’ve been trying to go with specific themes, especially in gen 6, and that’s making them more humanoid to fit the theme. Like, look at gen 6. They’re specifically stated to be based on RPG class elements. A knight, a wizard, a ninja... they’re all types of people. Archer, wrestler, singer, all people. I actually think gen 5 did a great job at using human concepts but keeping the Pokémon less humanoid. Samurott was cleverly done, and Serperior is literally perfect (my opinion, love it). I just do wish they could go back to more concepts that didn’t have to insert some kind of human quality into the Pokémon. Look at Torterra, it’s based off that world turtle thing. And it looks amazing.

Anyway, this is kinda off topic, but I guess there isn’t much of a topic to be on anyway at the moment, so... eh.

See, I don't really see the Gen 6 and 7 starters as humanoid. By humanoid Pokemon, I'm talking about ones like the Machop line, Mr. Mime, Jynx, Sawk, Throh, the Timburr line... those kinds of Pokemon. Those are the ones I'm not too find of.

I could do with one or two really well done trailers, maybe showing a few pokemon, the starters, the box legends, the region (just a few highlights please, don't even give us a map),

I'm not even sure about pokemon anymore. When I went up against the Ultra Beasts in Sun and Moon, I legitimately did not know what to do against them, and had to figure out what their weaknesses were myself. True, I've never been in the situation where I totally do not know what pokemon exist, and I have made my teams beforehand for each of them. The only thing I didn't know is where they are found in the game. I don't like having to waste time faffing about one area until I feel like I've seen every pokemon I can, and even by my methods, I didn't find all of them, but I did find what I needed. If it was one of those pokemon I didn't find, what would I have done then? Granted, Sun and Moon made finding certain pokemon a royal pain, and there's no way I would've thought of doing that in a hundred years. Not to mention it's folly to even believe you can figure out how to evolve pokemon on your own in some situations. You HAVE to have a guide of some sort. For once, I would like to make my own pokemon discoveries, but I guess I'll still have to look up evolution methods where they apply.

@Jukain you seem to be contradicting yourself... You don’t want GameFreak to show all the Pokemon, and you want to know what Pokémon are in an area at the same time? That’s the impression I get.

Infernape isn’t really humanoid.

I don’t think humanoi is that bad unless its something like Jinx. Clothes.it has clothes. So I wouldn’t mind if it somethings like gen VII in the case of decidueye. But clothing is too much. Regardless I want a non bipedal fire type.

Wow, you totally just reminded me that we haven't had a single non-bipedal final evolution in the fire starter family. The closest we've gotten is Typhlosion, but its model has it standing on two legs. That's... well, I don't know whether to call that amazing or shocking. Probably somewhere in between.

I forgot about that part. I don't know how to resolve that either. Then again, I don't have much of a sense for what pokemon should be rare. Not even the pseudo legends are that rare anymore. Playing Digimon Cyber Sleuth: Hacker's Memory has revealed to me exactly what happens when I don't have something planned beforehand: I mess up royally. It's like my first time playing Yellow all over again, where I have to randomly catch things and hope it works out.

My entire reason for questioning my methods was that knowledge of all the pokemon beforehand makes the game way too easy. I already know how to beat every pokemon. Is this knowledge I have regardless? Technically, yes. How did I figure out how to deal with the Ultra Beasts? The old fashioned way, by figuring out the type chart. Does this make it more challenging? Not really, for me, it's just delaying the inevitable.

So can I say that the pokemon themselves are that much of a spoiler? That depends on what exactly it is I am trying to prove, and to be frank, it is just a massive convenience to keep myself from wasting too much time. I should already know how to use and defeat any pokemon in existence. Do I even need a solid team? Everything but the bosses are exp fodder. I will never be one that just overlevels a single pokemon and destroys the entire game with it. Most importantly, I love my pokemon and it is important to me that they are cared for.

I guess there is no avoiding me knowing what the pokemon are and where to find them since it's so important to me. I am also not the best trainer there is, so I don't know what it is I'm trying to prove, it's just how I do things.

Yeah I'm 100% positive Zeraora is coming this month that. As for whether that means a gen 8 announcement is definitely happening soon I'm not sure. I can't see them announcing it this month. If we get it soon(ish) I think it'll be March at the earliest. That said with the new possibility of it being announced at E3 I'm not super sure anymore. We shall have to see what happens. At the very least once Zeraora is out of the way we won't have anything else standing in the way of an announcement.

I think it's likely.
We have Desdar300 who said the Pokemon Center is preparing for a huge event,
and then you have a Chinese leaker saying that Zeraora would be announced around Chinese New Year.

Lavandula, are your sources leaning more to early 2019 or late 2018 for the Pokemon Switch games to be released?
