Lavandula, are your sources leaning more to early 2019 or late 2018 for the Pokemon Switch games to be released?
Desdar300 believes it's going to be 2019 right at the beginning.
Then we have our Chinese sources who said they believed in 2018, but now, they are saying it might get delayed to 2019.

Well, that's disheartening, but I can disappear for a year or so.

Is it selfish of me to want it in 2019 b/c I don't have the extra money lying around for a Switch and don't want to scoop up this game four months after everyone else? Probably. ^^;

I hope your sources and Desdar300 and his sources are right about it getting delayed to 2019. I would honestly prefer 2019 instead of this year because I don't want the majority of the fanbase to complain that the games were rushed and I want them to also take their time as well and make the games the best they can be. I believe you though when you said the Chinese team finished their translations ages ago and that they were naming Generation 8 Pokémon last year. But many people I know are probably way more skeptical about these claims because of how Mr. Ishihara worded the announcement at E3 2017 and made it sound like the games were only just in the beginning stages. He probably just worded it that way to make fans not expect it right away. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Please keep us posted with more rumors/leaks from your sources as they become available.

They'll still complain. Also more time doesn't always help. They took a lot more time to make DP and that game turned it a mess with it being incredibly slow and terribly paced.

In other news supposedly this guy has some credibility. Nothing too crazy here, but it's something to keep an eye on

Yeah. I think people will still complain too. But hopefully if it is pushed to 2019, less people than before will complain about it and it won't be as rushed and bad. And this is very interesting. Has this person leaked stuff correctly before in the past? If so, can you give some proof with an example? And do you have any idea what he means by "online P2P"?

Supposedly. To be honest idk much about them other than that. I'll do some digging to see what specifically gives them credibility. Just thought it was good to bring them into sight just in case they do leak anything for real

Online P2P means "Peer to Peer" and is a type of game server apparrently that is commonly used in real-time strategy games which gives this guy even further support for credibility because it lines up with what Lavandula and Desdar300 have been told about the battle system being changed to a Digimon World or Pokkén Tournament type of game.

>Cel shaded art style
thank you...this is all i wanted..
Eh, to each their own, but that'd be a mixed bag for me, personally. If they can make it look like BotW, then I'm on board, I suppose. But that's a tall order.

I just didnt want a realistic art style (ex: pokemon go) It just doesnt fit pokemon for me

Trust me, realistic styles in pokemon don't work. They either don't blend well with real people, and realistic versions of them look downright terrifying or jarring. Honestly the perfect balance of realism is in Pokken. I love the textures of the modles.

I fount it reasonable.
I really didn't want USUM to be a Switch game because I didn't feel like spending so much money on a console + a game so I just saved a bit more money, for example.

EDIT: about the new leaks.
I'm pretty okay about it tbh. Seems fair and not going over the top. A SM's style in HD is something Pokémon can get along pretty well so I'm happy with it.

And, phew, I really expected them to use Switch's touch screen so.

Intrigued about the new Ultra Beasts concept being pushed into Alola, though.

Oh no, I totally understand. That would be... way too jarring. I just feel like there's this tendency to equate cell shading with cartoony (and a lack of it means "realistic" by default). Like I said, if they do it right, I'm sure it'll look vibrant and colorful and gorgeous.

How much into 2019 though? Are we talking Jan/Feb or something later (Oct/Nov) or perhaps summer?
It makes no sense for the anime to speed up to such a breakneck pace and then try and pad it out for another 1 year and 9 months

If I remember correctly, anime episodes are made 3 months in advance. If their initial goal is this year and they finally delay it we'll probably start noticing some slowed path rather later than sooner. But is just a conjecture.

Personally, I think that if they end with delaying the games to 2019 we'll probably see them before summer — they wanted to release them in 2018, I don't think they would really need another full year of development if that's the case.

I mean, it sounds reasonable, but it also sounds a little too much like guessing. "Parts of the UI will be animated" and "touch screen will be used" aren't exactly hard things to predict. I don't really see why they have any credibility, either-their twitter account has only been around for a year, their description is super vague, and most of their news tweets are from other sources. There's not really a lot to indicate that they have any more reason to be believed than any other anonymous person on the internet.
Bonus tidbit:
The Ultra Beasts in Ultra Sun/Moon were originally intended for Switch.
So...Game Freak spent time on a Switch game, then suddenly decided to release another 3DS game instead? Sounds an awful lot like Eurogamer's claims...
