Didn't one of the higher-ups mention having reservations about the Switch?

That was Ishihara and he's the pres of TPC and isn't a part of GF. So regardless of how he felt that really doesn't make much a difference. They were always going to have to make a Switch game. That's kind of end of story.

@TechSkylander1518 Oh maybe my brain was mixing thing up after all. Sorry about that. For some reason my eyes skipped over the "Ultra" part in the tweet. In that case maybe they figured they could squeeze them into USUM to give the game an extra little something since obviously USUM was just to pad things out. Otherwise other than the new Necrozma forms there wouldn't be much added to the game to entice people to buy them. USUM was clearly meant to fill space as otherwise they'd have a gen with only one set of games in it. USUM was an easy way to make the gen last for at least one more year. That all said I'd say if the USUM UBs were in fact intended to be in gen 8 that just means that UBs will be continuously important in the next gen too.

The new UBs weren't tied to USUM that strongly at all. Blacephalon and Stakataka just took a brief video cameo from Buzzwhole and Pheremosa. Naganadel had no part in the story at all and Poipole was just used is some battles then given to you

@TechSkylander1518 something being similar, by definition, means it is not exactly the same. "they will never do ... Because they've never done it before " doesn't hold as logical anymore after gens 5, 6 and 7.

One upon a time no one thought they'd add new Pokemon mid gens, yes they added New Mega's in Gen 6 and New forms in Gen 4 and 5 but to quote you, "they were not the same"

Although not the same one thing often leads to another.

No one ever though they'd kick off a new console with a remake! Oops, too soon? Yeah. Be back in a year.

P.S. Unless you count Crystal being a GBC-only game. Or Yellow having additional visuals if used in a GBC compared to RB.

They'll still complain. Also more time doesn't always help. They took a lot more time to make DP and that game turned it a mess with it being incredibly slow and terribly paced.

In other news supposedly this guy has some credibility. Nothing too crazy here, but it's something to keep an eye on

What type of credibility does he have? Does anyone know where he sources from?
I'm not being skeptical, I just want to do some research before making a video.

What he said doesn't sound impossible to me.

I did some back tracking on his twitter and apparently he said that the new wild guns game that came out on every other platform in 2017 would come to the switch and It seemed to be just a statement out of the blue but six days later, Wild guns Reloaded for the Switch was officially announced.

Looks like things got a little more interesting...

What are the odds that getting plausible rumors circulating means we're getting closer to a reveal?

I am willing to bet that an actual leak has been online on like 4chan or 2ch but just slid on through just like the Wishlist leak for USUM, posted 3 months in advance to the announcement of USUM. But wasn't brought up till a few weeks later after the announcement.

It is totally true some important Pokémon related individual said he thought the Switch was going to be a failure, but it wasn't someone from Game Freak — it was The Pokémon Company president, Tsunekazu Ishihara... To be honest, I still mantain my point that Game Freak really didn't have more realistic choices that developing a Switch game.
Ah, okay. Thanks for the clarification. I do agree that the Switch is the right direction. I know Nintendo released some sort of statement about continuing to support the system, but that console has been out for, like, seven years now. There's really not a lot more you can do with it. It's time for bigger and better things.

It's been deleted but I had his page up from before and never closed it.

It looks like Marcus is a game reviewer and industry insider. The fact that he's deleted that tweet tells me it was probably real. Speaking of, what analyst guy was it again that predicted a March reveal for the game?

Thanks for doing some leg work there. After I posted the tweet here it got late and I needed to go to bed so I couldn't find anything to back him up

I don't recall their name, but I wanna say they were from Nikkei which has a news organization. So essentially a industry reporter is who they are. Wish I could remember their name

On the flipside, it's difficult to respect an allegedly powerful opponent when their team just can't pose a threat to you. Pokemon doesn't need to have a Dark Souls style difficulty mantra to it, but the satisfaction of victory often is proportional to the amount of actual difficulty experienced to get there.
you pretend me tell me something? i was curious i want understand you tell me only i understand in all sentences its my way of playing "its you go overpower and dont know how feel someone beat hard opponents in minus level" and you put darks souls because fits in everything because appareantly its something far you know in your life and its much possible seems like difficult and compares dark souls in this context are bizarre not his difficulty its for his over leveling... everyone have his habits playing some players wants challenges and another wants dont think and frustrates so much thats way evoid games make easily trigger me so much like i wanna be the guy or something like that i have patiencie but i dont know control my outrages in my most hight aspie level and yes i am

Now that we know he's the one who leaked Wild Guns Reloaded for the Switch 6 days before it's announcement, can you contact your sources and let us know what they think of this guy and if anything here lines up with what they've been told? I'd love to see a video from you soon about your source's thoughts. This guy seems very credible to me. Though lot of people are dissing because they deem his leaks "too safe" or "anyone could of guessed that".

It's fine!! When there's only a one-word difference in titles, it's really easy for things to get mixed up!
While I can certainly see the logic here, there's a few things that don't quite sit with me.
  • USUM did still include a number of new features, including totem stickers, wormhole exploring, Rainbow Rocket, Mantine surfing, and the photo club. While most people don't consider it enough to merit a new game, it's pretty near the standard for sister games. Platinum is pretty similar-its only major differences from DP were a new form for Giratina (similar to Necrozma's form), a new location in the Distortion world (similar to USUM's Ultrapolis), and new features. So it seems a bit odd that a few new Pokemon would be considered necessary.
  • James Turner, the creator of the Poipole line, said he designed them for USUM.

On his model sheet for Poipole, you can see Dusk form Lycanroc above it, so it certainly seems to back up this claim.
  • Zeraora seems to fit this purpose far better than the Ultra Beasts-it's a Mythical, so the Mystery Gift event could come at a time a good deal after the games' release, and it's only in USUM, so players would have to buy the games to get it. Pixel didn't say anything about Zeraora, so, as far as we know, it was designed for USUM. So why pull more Pokemon from a later game when you already have a Pokemon meeting that purpose?

That all said I'd say if the USUM UBs were in fact intended to be in gen 8 that just means that UBs will be continuously important in the next gen too.
I certainly do hope that's the case! The UBs are a genuinely fun concept, and I hope to see more from them! My arguments are just in regards to Pixel's credibility, not the hope of more UBs!

James Turner, the creator of the Poipole line, said he designed them for USUM.

To be fair he's not gonna tell us he made it for the Switch game, but they decided it would be in USUM. That'd be a ridiculous thing for him to say. I get what you're saying, bit considering Pixelpar has at least one form of credibility I don't think it's wise to throw what he said away without giving it the time of day. Anything that comes from GF at this point will only be PR talk. The won't reveal anything about the Switch game with the game being fully announced first. That includes even lying to the general public and being misleading.

As for the new things again I think they added more stuff to USUM because they likely knew it wouldn't have been a worthwhile purchase for most a year after SM came out. Thus they gave the younger crew easy things to add in like the stickers and the photo club to entice people into buying it. Also given that Zeraora is in fact a mythical there's no intiial value to it until they announce it. So that's why they'd need to have the new UBs. They're in the story and even if they're not entirely necessary they give people a reason to by the game at face value.
