Actually it wouldnt be change for the sake of change, it would be progress. Since the begining they have been trying to make things more lively and real. When color finally came out, sprites where no longer colourless. Then sprites gradually improved and finally in Black and White they where animated. Then X and Y made the leap to 3D models and since its been future proofed, it is likely to stay. Right now graphics in Pokemon are at its peak, they cant progress much farther with it (unless they want to make super realistic models), now its time to make battles more lively. They did that with weather and terrain, then in X and Y with in battle form changes, then in Sun and Moon with super flashy moves. Dropping the turn based system would be the next step and would create a much more lively Pokemon...

The battle system has been the same for the last 20 years, I think right now would be the perfect time for an upgrade
That's the thing though. It's not the same for everyone. A real time battle system may feel livelier however I have never found turn based to be stagnant either. I always though Pokemon, the games at least, was more about decision making than reflexes. In terms of battles, Sun and Moon were pretty lively in my opinion. And another good example would be Persona 5. Even though turn based, it is bursting with style and movement. It is anything but stagnant. I feel a change in aesthetic or some additions like a stamina bar are enough and we don't need to overhaul the entire system to make it fresh. There are other areas which are in need of those. For example, like many have said, the exploration aspect. What I mean to say in that a change in real time direction may be fresh but it might not be necessary for everyone. And in my opinion is certainly not needed.

I feel like I would be ok no-matter if they change the battle system or not
If they don't change it, ok
If they do, I am interested in how they do it, and see if they could make it more interesting

South India makes a lot of sense because Nintendo is currently negotiating Switch games with multiple Indian game devs.
Nintendo wants games for the Switch developed by Indians.
Is this just an educated guess on your part, or confirmed Info? I think it’s confirmed if you're saying it but I want to be sure since it’s exciting after all the time Nintendo has been ignoring India.

Regarding the Indian/Sri Lankan region- The idea is really exciting for me since I'm Indian and Nintendo barely pays any attention to India. An Indian mainland+Sri Lankan island region would be great, and vast since India offers a variety of climates, and had the potential to be the biggest region we've ever seen (snow, and desert in the northern India, forests in the north-east, the rocky central climate, and the tropical climate in the south).

It might also mean that Nintendo (and GameFreak) finally begins to pay attention to India and actually sell their consoles there.

To the people who're saying that the Chinese language option means a south East Asian region- IF GameFreak create a region in south east Asia to just appeal to the Chinese speakers, it isn’t going to be India or Sri Lanka (almost no one speaks Chinese here and India has conflicts with China).

I have a hard time seeing an Indian/Sri Lankan region since Nintendo has been ignoring the areas for ages, but maybe things will change. Here's hoping for the best.

I think that you should stop treating leaks like they're confirmed information to avoid confusing people. An India based region is not confirmed so stop acting like it is.
Why does when everytime your argument has be proven wrong you attack in different way he never said that the leak is confirmed he just shows that IF the regional food is kottu it is definitely sri lanka/india ok?

The only problem I have with this possible Meania region is that the anime will suffer greatly due to similarities with the previous region. The region will probably be exotic and sunny like Alola, kottu will be the new malasada, that fat grass pokemon which serves as a meme will be the new Rowlet and Silvan will be the new Iris.

Which do you mean?
South India region is an educated guess, not confirmed.
But Nintendo Switch recruiting Indian game devs is confirmed.

Just as Malasada is Portuguese but popular in Hawaii, quick bit of research into Kottu or whatever it's called and it's popular in Toronto, Canada.

Toronto/Ontario/Canada could make a really good region.

So in other word, Best wishes 2.0 Oh arceus just please No,
And this Is my opinion But The best wishes anime Is my least favorite Pokemon anime series. I rather have a Alola sequel than a others Best Wishes any day

As for the Pokemon switch leaks, I don't care what leak come true or not at this point I just want to see Pokemon on the switch already XD
But Meania sound like It can be a nice region, If confirmed

You're right. One of the reasons why I hope that this leak is fake is because Melania would be too similar to Alola, and you explained it perfectly.

Has anyone heard of ASB? Anime Style Battling? What if the next games do something similar to that. Supposedly it balances things out when it comes to how good certain Pokémon are. And certain things are changed too. A Pokémon has all of its abilities as once with some adjustments for non compatiable moves, and a turn involves 3 moves. So for example you select flamethrower, flame charge, and ember, and the opponent also chooses 3 moves. Things are better because you don’t have to “predict” every turn, rather you have to do it every 3 turns. I don’t know a better way of explaining it, there are some guides online as to how it works

I just can't see why they would do that. It's still turn-based so it won't attract certain people more, and it certainly won't attract competitive players. Why change a winning battle formula if it doesn't improve on it?

That actually sounds kind of interesting. I wonder if it would defeat the purpose of double battles though, wouldn't it?
