tbf, at least in terms of plot, Sinnoh basically just Dynamaxed the Ruby & Sapphire storyline :p so somewhere in there is an instinct to blow things up to absurd scale

We're revolting if they so much try to make everything turn into some Stadium. Sinnoh stands for mysteries, not hurr durr big Pokémon fights
Yeah. It would strip Sinnoh of its own identity and turn it into a copy of Galar. I don't think they would do that.

I made a list of Pokemon I think would fit Sinnoh and this comes out to 445 if I counted right, throw in 5 more to round it out to 450 and I think you've got a pretty decent Sinnoh Dex:

I think that's too large, especially considering that there's most likely not going to be something like the Wild Area in this game.

There were 386 Pokemon in the og Hoenn dex. Conparitively, there are only 211 Pokemon in the remake Hoenn dex. The number went down between remakes.

How many times do we have to go over this? All Pokemon in the game have to be in the Sinnoh Dex to even be usable in the game. 450 is pretty reasonable for the full roster of Pokemon in the game. Maybe a bit too conservative even, people would probably be upset if only 450 Pokemon were usable in this game and there were 400ish that outright couldn't be traded. That's about how many were in the original DPPt. Most likely all of the Pokemon except Sylveon are going to be post game Pokemon, and they have more than enough places to put them. You have the post game routes, swarms, Pokeradar, and post game additions to the Trophy Garden and Great Marsh that they can fill with post game Pokemon, and they can always come up with new methods to catch post game Pokemon too. They should have no trouble fitting this many Pokemon in the game.

Some of that stuff will most likely be gone, such as the PokeRadar.

Do you always fly so low to the ground?
I don't think that the PokeRadar will work because they abandoned random encounters in grass patches in favor of Pokemon appearing in the overworld. In order for the PokeRadar to return they will have to regress and bring back random encounters.

They could have both. Or you could toggle them. It can't be that hard, can it? Wait, don't answer that, any time someone who knows nothing about coding asks that question the answer is yes.

All right, so to drive the point home, I did an analysis of what some of the older dexes would be like if this policy were in place back when they were released:

FRLG: 151 Pokemon in the original dex + 71 Pokemon in post game = 222 Pokmeon
Emerald: 202 Pokemon in the original dex + 34 Pokemon in post game = 236 Pokemon
DP: 151 Pokemon in the original dex + 294 Pokemon in post game + 4 Pokemon needed to obtain 4th gen Pokemon (the Regis and Tangela) = 449 Pokemon
Platinum: 210 Pokemon in the original dex + 235 Pokemon in post game = 445 Pokemon (If you're wondering why Platinum is actually less, it's because the Trapinch lines and Clamperl lines are unavailable. Add those in and it would be 451)
HGSS: 256 Pokemon in the original dex + 198 Pokemon in post game = 454 Pokemon
BW: 156 Pokemon in the original dex + 313 Pokemon in post game = 469 Pokemon
BW2: 300 Pokemon in the original dex + 190 Pokemon in post game = 490 Pokemon
XY: 454 Pokemon in the original dex + 142 Pokemon in post game = 596 Pokemon
ORAS: 211 Pokemon in the original dex + 269 Pokemon in post game = 480 Pokemon
SM: 302 Pokemon in the original dex + 66 Pokemon in post game = 388 Pokemon
USUM: 403 Pokemon in the original dex +164 Pokemon in post game = 567 Pokemon

400-500 is about average for the total Pokemon in a game, so that should be the expected range for the Sinnoh Dex.

They can't fit that many Pokemon in Sinnoh, not even with the Battle Zone, without heavily redesigning it.

Yes they can. There are any number of ways they could fit more Pokemon in. They have the Pokeradar (and no, overworld encounters does not mean they can't bring it back, the Pokeradar could just cause the new species to spawn in the overworld). They have swarms. They have post game Safari Zone and Trophy Garden Pokemon. And they could always come up with new methods, like letting you travel to different worlds with Dialga/Palkia/Giratina like you do with Ultra Warp Ride in USUM.
