Generation IV Remake Speculation

Will there be remakes in Gen VIII?

Sure, but the point I was making is that it would make Game Freak's lives easier and the majority wouldn't mind too much.

ORAS look very grid-based. Where did they deviate apart from the Battle Resort?

Following a template is always easier than coming up with changes. And it isn't just the grid but also the scale and richness of details.

LGPE can get away with a grid style since they compensated by making it look better than SM on the Switch. Reverting to a grid style from the Gen 8 graphics is going to be a much more glaring and noticeable change.

And I doubt the LGPE audience will refuse to buy Sinnoh remakes just because they are not in a grid style.

I agree with you there. The Sinnoh remakes should not have a grid style. It would be jarring to go back to it from Gen 8's graphics, which are most likely going to be a step above SM.

Should and will are two different things. If they prefer to dedicate resources to something else (say, full-fledged Pokemon customization), they will. An annual release schedule takes its toll, but not on their profits.

Agreed on the Underground becoming more MMO-like. It was a lot more fun when you were playing with friends, enhancing that aspect with online would make it even better.

Something I wondered about the underground, could they make it an MMO-like feature?
I'm all up for MMO elements if it'll make unlocking Spiritomb and capturing flags much easier. Secret base trainers and QR bases were a fun concept and should be included too.

My idea for the Underground is turn it into the next multiplayer hub, where you can trade and battle as well as play the flag capturing minigame.

So, after we got FireRed and LeafGreen, HeartGold and SoulSilver, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the next in the pattern would be remakes for Diamond and Pearl. And I think the Sinnoh Pokédex should be expanded upon. Back in the original Diamond and Pearl, 26 new Pokémon were excluded from the Pokédex. Platinum did add on to it, but still left out seven legendaries. You were supposed to see every Pokémon from Sinnoh, so why are some Sinnoh Pokémon left out? And we've noticed how underrepresented the Fire and Electric types were when Volkner and Flint only had two of their specialized types in Diamond and Pearl, which Platinum fixed with the expansion.
The Switch remakes could improve even more by expanding the Pokédex. 250 seems like a good number because that is a reference to Gold and Silver's Pokédex where the Old Pokédex order ends for most people who didn't get Celebi, and Diamond/Pearl sure loved teasing the Johto remakes. The Pokédex should be identical to Platinum's Pokédex up until #170 Glaceon where Sylveon would obviously have to be inserted between Glaceon and Swablu. So Swablu and the others after would have +1 added to their numbers. After #211 Giratina, there'd be the newly added Pokémon. And since expanding the Pokédex is a great reward for completing it, I want them to keep the requirement of seeing all the Pokémon in the Sinnoh Dex. And that includes all the legendaries. Yep, you need to meet Arceus to get the National Dex. You should have seen every Pokémon in the Sinnoh Dex by the time you beat the Elite Four. If your Dex is incomplete after the League, Professor Rowan would point out a trainer you missed or give you a clue to where a Legendary is hiding. Half of the Battle Zone from the Fight Area to Stark Mountain would be accessible after getting the Icicle Badge so that you can get Heatran.
You no longer need the National Pokédex to enter Snowpoint Temple, so you can get Regigigas, and after battling Regigigas, the Hoenn Golems Regirock, Regice and Registeel (who are in the new section of the Pokédex immediately preceding Regigigas) would wake up and the Rock Peak Ruins (which has been moved from Route 228 to the bottom of Stark Mountain), Iceberg Ruins and Iron Ruins would open. And these legendaries wouldn't disappear until you catch them, so you could have multiple tries and luckily you just have to see Pokémon to count towards getting the National Dex. You don't have to catch Regigigas to unlock the Regi ruins. Sailor Eldritch's son gets the nightmares after you earn the Mine Badge, so you would have to go to Fullmoon Island to find Cresselia. When you approach Cresselia, she flies over to Newmoon Island and you will have to get back on the boat. The cutscene automatically registers her in the Pokédex. When you get to Newmoon Island, you will find that Cresselia is losing her battle against Darkrai and is forced to retreat, running around Sinnoh as a roaming Pokémon. But at least she left her Lunar Wing behind. But as soon as you pick it up, Darkrai attacks. You would either catch Darkrai or he will disappear and wait for a rematch when you come back. Cynthia would give you Manaphy as a gift instead of the Togepi egg and she will tell you that leaving Manaphy at the Day-Care with Ditto could produce a Phione egg. Good thing Ditto would be in the new section of the Pokédex.
In Victory Road, Marley would interrupt your path to the League to ask you to help her get to the Flower Paradise where Shaymin is waiting. At Spear Pillar, you battle either Dialga or Palkia, whoever's on the cover of your game, and then Cyrus battles you with the opposite version's legendary on his team. Then Giratina takes you to the Distortion World where you go through an Escher maze to get to him. And after facing Giratina, you end up in the Hall of Origin to face Arceus. Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf are fought in the caves of their respective lakes. Most of the trainers would have the Pokémon they used from Platinum, but there would be new trainers that use Pokémon from the expanded section of the Dex, and trainers who originally used starters would replace those with other Pokémon so the Starter Pokémon would only be used by the Rival trainers: Barry, the impatient boy who threatens fines would have the starter strong against your type; Lucas/Dawn, Professor Rowan's assistant who's based on the player character you didn't pick would have the same starter as you to address a line from the originals where they said they could have had the same Pokémon (but ended up with the disadvantaged one) and to make sure you see all the starters even if you released yours without evolving; and Tina, a new girl in the game who picks the starter with the type disadvantage.
And there would be more rival battles to make sure you face all three at each stage of their starters. So, do you think this should be the way the Sinnoh Pokédex should be and how you get to fill it up?

I feel like you have some good ideas! But maybe... more paragraphs would help with the reading of your post hehe.

Ehhh, I don't think I like this idea. Part of what made DPPt so good was its rich post game, folding all of that into the main game would make the main game feel tedious. Also, Game Freak is almost certainly not going to keep the requirement of seeing every Pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex to get the National Dex. It's not casual friendly as it requires you to battle every single person ever in hopes of finding a Pokemon you haven't seen before. It's basically a game of find the needle in the haystack, which is something that Game Freak wants to avoid and even some hardcore players would find annoying.
