More reason for people to buy Sun/Moon, basically. I doubt there's tech limitations as both Gen VI and Sun/Moon are on 3DS.

That and with older Pokemon coming from them with old Gen I TM moves, the metagame will likely get a big shakeup. Best off tying that in to a new generation, with all the new mons and changes, than doing it at the end of an old one.

If so, I'm hoping that this has given them more time to focus on other aspects of the games other than the graphics. I did like Kalos, and as much as I wanted a Zygarde-centered plot, XY were kind of forgettable for me altogether.

I can't believe they are doing gen 7 without adding Zygarde forms in one last gen 6 game. This is a mistake and I am disappointed. My dislike towards Sun and Moon has started to increase. Zygarde's neglect is unforgivable.

So, Game Freak's big surprise was abandoning any attempt to flesh out Kalos? I kind of have a bad feeling about this. Regulating Zygarde to an anime-only thing seems like a step in the wrong direction to me. I hope we at least get its new formes in S/M somehow. Game Freak better not make 7th Gen as unfinished and bare-bones as XY was, or that'll prove that Game Freak has given up on finishing what they started in order to compete with mobile games.

Yeeeeessssssss.... now I don't have to stress saving for a new console until Gen 8.

And again, hopefully this means there is more quality work done to the other aspects of the games, region and story wise. They got their feet wet with XY and ORAS, so we'll see.

I'm not sure if there is too much they can do with graphics. They are most likely using the same engine with some updates. I expect to see the same 3D as XY/ORAS, but more polished. Basically, I don't expect some big change in terms of graphics.

With that in mind, they really do have more time to dedicate to the story and other features. This case is a little similar to Gen V. I don't want to put my expectations high, but I think they will put some more effort into the game. Not to mention this would be a huge disappointment if the games don't deliver considering they were announce during the 20th Anniversary and all that.

Pleased with this new announcement very much, excited for Sun and Moon. So far from what we've seen, it looks like a very beautiful region. ♥ This was a great way to kick off Pokemon's 2oth anniversary; can't wait for more news! ;D

Didn't stop Game Freak from turning New York City into the Unova region, so it's not impossible.

I don't mind the tropics, but I'm hoping that we get a region that has a lot of diversity in terms of climate and terrain. I really liked how Kalos had diverse routes in that sense, but the routes were pretty linear and clear-cut with not a whole lot of exploration options.

These images that we've seen in the video is starting to give me the impression that the region might be a pretty good size(fire-trucks and ambulances? C'mon, how is that NOT awesome?), but sadly we don't have enough information yet to determine that. I'm really hoping we see some footage sometime within the next 7 days or so, I wouldn't be surprised if Pokenchi gives us something this weekend.

I still think there will be some sort of teaser or something to come later in the day, the Japnese site is only linking to the direct, when it usually has a site for the next games when announced almost instantaneously. Why not in the direct I have no idea, maybe to start off the celebration?

As someone said above, they turned part of NYC into a region, no reason Singapore couldn't be made to work. It could extend to the whole of Malayia, who knows.

I've never really understood why some people are so adamant about a Dark-type gym. There have been 3 E4 Dark specialists, plus the evil teams are almost always Dark overloaded.
