I couldn't help but notice that in the Genesect article, its name is in bold, before the Japanese name. Like, it's like:

Genesect (Japanese: ゲノセクト Genesect) is a dual-type Bug/Steel legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

Usually where the English name isn't revealed yet, it's just

(Japanese: ゲノセクト Genesect) is a dual-type Bug/Steel legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

Is this an error? Or did I miss something?

There's no bolded English name because there's no confirmed English. Therefore, there's just the kana and fake romanization of the Japanese name.

Yeah, but here, there IS the bolded English name. That's what I was saying. Does this mean that Genesect was somehow confirmed as the English name, or did someone make a mistake?

It's fixed now. :D

Most likely someone misunderstood.

*cough*Sol*cough*.

It was Argy who put the bold name on originally. All I did was change all instances of Genosect to Genesect. do your research pls

How is it Genesect instead of Genosect? The second character is "no"

Nintendo registered the site name.

Believe me. We don't pull these things out of our asses. Same reason the Japanese name of Celebi is Celebi, not the name of a certain rival site which is closer to the actual Hepburn romanization of セレビィ as Serebyi.
