Genesis​

We all hear stories about those heroes that defend the world from threats, get accolades for their achievements, and live as the beacons of public safety. Then, you have those unsung upholders of the law who, against all odds, save the day. TV is rife with those. It makes for good drama.

In the world of the supernatural, it's far more complex than that. It's impossible to conceal everything from people, but it's equally impossible for everyone to be fully aware. This balance has allowed various groups to perform their duties with relative ease.

They go by different names everywhere: hunters, saviors, vanguards, scions, etc. Whatever the name, they function as one thing primarily: guardians. They deal with the bigger threats that make their way into the world.

You're probably thinking that you'll be a high-flying hero who saves thousands of lives.

Well, you're... almost right.

Oh look, another one. This one's called Genesis.

In short, you play one of those humans with the fancy powers that lets you help take down big bad threats. Whether they're experienced, and why they do it is entirely up to you, but your kind is the only one that can.

Your character can be well-acquainted with the life of fighting, or just be a normal person thrown into a rather bad situation. It's all your choice.

Rules

3. Do not attempt to overlap a character's abilities.
5. The GM's word is law, and the Moderator's law is even higher. If one of these two tell you to do something, please don't make a fuss.

Powers

All characters have the following powers:

• Superhuman condition, which lets them perform extraordinary physical feats. The degree to which they can do this differs from person to person, but there won't be any Captain Marvel levels of strength anytime soon.
• Bypassing supernatural defenses, that lets them take down big - otherwise invulnerable or immortal - threats more easily.
• Psychic linking to their group, which lets them both feel when they are in danger and project themselves to one another.

NOTE: These powers are, at the moment, the limit to what will be allowed. Nothing flashy, like fireballs and summoning, is available. Yet.

Appearance: Kalyani has caramel skin, green eyes, and long black hair usually tied back into a ponytail. She stands at 5'09" in height, having some shades of athleticism in her.

Skills
Rather skilled at hand-to-hand fighting, but finds her true calling in strategy, research, and tactics. Oftentimes panics when things starts to go south, but maintains a calculated view of any situation.

Equipment
Has a rifle and a blade that she uses to fight. She's moderately capable with both, though there are definitely better fighters out there.

Name: Yuezheng Xin
Sex: Female
Age: 17

Appearance: Xin is of obvious Asian descent, with distinctly Chinese features - slightly tanned skin, black eyes, and long black hair usually held up in a ponytail or braid of sorts. Traditionally, she wears semi-formal clothing, though most of the time her outfit consists of a cardigan sweater, dress shirt, and a pleated skirt. She occasionally wears glasses if she forgets her contacts. She has a typically gaunt build, as such her clothes tend to hang off her frame quite a bit, though whether this is from a lack of nutrients or otherwise remains to be seen.

Xin also has a tattoo that runs up the length of her arm, though it is generally covered by the cardigan sweater.

Skills: Extremely smart in academic terms - despite keeping up appearances as a normal school girl, Xin has a rather extensive knowledge of bladed weapons. Riddles and mysteries come rather easily to her, as she is extremely perceptive.
Equipment: An assortment of sharpened weapons, from katana to kusarigama blades. She also carries around heavy college textbooks.
Other: Despite her age, Xin attends college full time, and spends most her time in psychology and music classes. She is fluent in five languages besides English.

She also does not know how to use a screwdriver, for all her intelligence is worth.

Appearance: Duncan's a fairly muscular guy, as is to be expected from one with his activities. He likes to keep his brown hair fairly short, he learned that lesson the hard way. He likes to wear fairly loose fitting stuff, often a t-shirt and long pants of some kind. Blue sneakers are his most common footwear.

Skills: He's a fighter, plain and simple. He knows plenty of martial arts, both lethal and non. He's never really thought about saving the world or anything, up until now he's just fought to fight. That looks like it could change now though.
Equipment: Whenever he uses a weapon for his martial arts, it's always a pair of tonfas. The fact that it's still a lot of punching means it's more personal than swiging around some sword or just shooting them.
Other: He's a cocky shit

Appearance:

Barry is a shortish young man (standing just over 5'10'') who is lean and athletic. He has dark black hair that he prefers to leave a bit on the long and wild side and dark eyes that almost look like the color of soot. He dresses casually as he wants to be on the go.

Skills: Barry's most notable skill is that he races cars as a hobby. Drift cars, carts, stock cars... doesn't matter. If you need to get somewhere fast, you want Barry behind the wheel. Given his car obsession, he's quite a skilled mechanic and engineer.
Equipment: His two most prized possessions are a Nissan GT-R and a Dodge Viper. Both are black and yellow and he's done quite a bit of custom work on both of these cars.
Other: Has an affection for the colors black and yellow.

Name: Carlos Andrade

Sex: Male

Appearance: Carlos stands at 5'9 with a slender built and gentle features, he's not particularly athletic but he does try to stay in good shape as much as he can. He has short combed back black hair along with brown eyes and olive skin along with a mole under his right eye. He prefers to dress casually as he feels more comfortable that way but will adhere to any dress codes he's given or clothes that suit the situation best.

Skills: Carlos is kind of a jack of all trades, while he's not particularly good or experienced at anything he has gone through a lot of different clubs and teams throughout his life. He's got average skills in soccer and swimming as well as dancing which makes him pretty agile and nimble, his coordination's also pretty good and he's able to stay on his feet. He's able to think quick on his feet even if he gets thrown off easily when things don't go his way and can be close minded to certain things.

Equiptment: A gun that he's still trying to get the license for.

Other: spicy chicken tacos are his life.

Appearance: Standing at 5'2", April is a fairly petite young woman. Her hair is dark brown in color, and is cropped to be a short, stylish bob. April has olive skin and hazel eyes; she wears makeup everyday. Her outfits tend to be fashion forward, hipster-like even.

Skills: Makes a mean coffee. Has sturdy hands and good aim. An artistic eye.

Equipment: April has no preference whatsoever in terms of equipment. The most dangerous thing she has ever carried around is some pepper spray and a taser.

Other: She's a college drop out. Having once majored in Film & Media, she now has no idea what she wants to do. She's a fairly lazy woman who's just content working as a barista for the rest of her life.

Appearance: Hopper has short chestnut blond hair and emerald green eyes. He has an athletic build and stands just above average in height. He is slightly tanned from time in the sun and there is a golden lily tattoo on his left cheek. For clothing he wears a large variety from comfortable and casual to business ready.

Skills: Flirting Hopper can speak multiple languages, and is quite knowledgeable in chemicals to the point he can make mixtures for all sorts of things. Such as destroying dead bodies. He is also of course quite physically capable and always alert, having trained as a kind of guardian from young.
Equipment: Hopper carries around all kinds of chemicals and concoctions for all kinds of use, none that are the best for physical harm. For that he uses a special silver stake that can change into a sword and heat up, thus burning the enemy (Not enough to easily kill though)
Other: I should not be making sus when sick and half asleep.
