Glastrier and Spectrier appearing in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield until October 23rd

Glastrier and Spectrier are appearing more frequently in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield until October 23rd, at 4:59pm (PDT). Players who defeat them can receive many useful items that wouldn't normally be earned in Max Raid Battles. This event may possibly be the final Wild Area News to be released for Sword and Shield, with the impending release of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. A notice on the Nintendo Switch News Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield channel last week stated that Wild Area News will not be updated after November 1st.

To encounter these Pokémon in a Max Raid Battle, you'll need to connect your Nintendo Switch system to the internet through the Y-Comm or by selecting Mystery Gift in the X menu, then selecting Get the Wild Area News. After that, whenever you see a pillar of light shining from a Pokémon Den in the Wild Area, you can walk up to the Pokémon Den and interact with it to start a Max Raid Battle. This event does not affect the Pokémon encountered within Dynamax Adventures.
