Then again now that they are going to add aesthetic differences for each and every parent ...

I kind of doubt that. I know the DS cards can have a lot of space on them, but we're already talking about 2+ full regions, improved graphics, and more weather effects - the number of combinations that would come from adding more alternate shapes would seemingly balloon exponentially into something completely unmanageable.

They could be random differences. Some-what like spinda.

I'd be just like, a real world animal, species look mostly the same, but there are minute difference between each and every individual

BTW, Does anyone know what month the next Cororo is, and what the cover looks like? I'm gonna go get it, so We can have some full HQ scans.
I imagine it'll be the June issue, but I'm not 100% sure

Even then it hints that there will be 2-3 different looks for each Pokémon at the very least.
If the programmers are smart enough they will be able to compress all the sprites or even dictate their looks just by programming code alone. Lip syncing in Valve's more recent games is doing by programming alone and the Dark World in Zelda ALttP is done just by changing a few values in the overworld data instead of pasting a complete second world into it.
Besides sprites shouldn't take up that much space.

I dunno - personally, that would drive me insane. Because I like collecting. I'm not completely obsessive about it, but I'd still want to get the different forms. ._. It might end up being a workable and well-done idea, though - it's another one of those wait-and-see things. But from my standpoint, it's looking much more like a meaningless gimmick than anything else - what's even the point of it? Shinies are a similar gimmick, but at least incredibly rare, so that has some value - if we've got common variations, what's the point besides minor aesthetic difference, and is it worth devoting the space to over other possible features?

The point would be that after so much talk in both games and anime about how every Pokémon even inside their own species is different this will be finally clearly shown in the games.

Yeah. I would love to walk around with a notch ear pichu. So then in vein of this news:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=15787262&postcount=730
Who do you think breeds to create it?

From that post, I suspect that the "cross-breeding" thing everyone wanted for so long will probably amount to each Pokemon having a number of visual differences either based on the secondary egg group of the father or the father's individual species, or perhaps what sort of item or berry the father is holding. I'm very glad to see Pokemon variation confirmed to increase beyond Shiny/notShiny and Male/Female. FINALLY.

I'm not sure but I keep thinking it comes out every month on the 15th, but I could be wrong. If I'm wrong I only chose 15 because it's the middle of the month. As for leaks, probably very soon.

I just want to say that if cross breeding is used/introduced in heart gold and soul silver i will be very happy. IT would be great to see a few new forms of normal pokemon. It would take much more time to design but game freak could get it done.

Nobody has agreed with me yet, but I like the idea of having your pokemon out of the ball, but I hope that more than your starter is allowed to walk around!

No I agree with you, I want to let my pokemon out, and when I surf, and fly, I want it to look like the pokemon I'm actually using, and not some generic blob.

I too think it would be cool if all 493 Pokemon could follow you around as well. I'd like to see Mewtwo following you around maybe with it's hands occasionally glowing or something.

I was quite shocked to find out that your starter can come out and walk with you. I would've thought it sounds strange, since this would be copied from Yellow, but hey it's awesome!

Now me and Cyndaquil can catch up. :D

Even with all the new stuff they are doing, do you think the space on a DS cart is going to allow all the new stuff they are doing, plus current Gen IV stuff, storyline, game events, Johto and Kanto and even all 493 pokemon having a few sprites each for them walking behind a player or NPC?

They added a few more in Platinum from D/P, just hope the ones they have in these games don't look as odd as grotle did. It looked too small IMO.

I don't know is PMD that horrible quality that they could afford it. Plus what about the icons in the Pokemon Party screen and the crappy icons in the Poketch, is it so impossible that they could do it, even if all the Pokemon have the same motion as Chikorita? That also excludes shiny, alternate versions, gender differences, and possibly different formes.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's only limited to starter Pokemon and Amity Square-compatible Pokemon. I don't think having Groudon following you around will be possible. (Ooh, or a Rayquaza. Being a huge long snake thing, it would be pretty interesting to see it casually hovering around Johto and Kanto.)
