Silver's animation was..Wow. How dramatic /sarcasm
Well,at least we know he has the same personality.

They changed the images in the egg scene,so I guess the first ones were placeholders.

Who was in that gym?

I like the look of the PC design. Having full touch controll might make storage/movement very easy to do. I also liked the fact that when you get off the bike, your Pokemon comes out of its Pokeball in a little poof. Its little things like that that always excite me the most. It shows thought.

Oh yea is it me or that they changed the Arceus cut scene.

I don't think so, I think they just cut out some of the scenes and shortened it for time, just like when we saw the cut-scene of the Arceus creating Egg, maybe it was shortened as well for time.

Then there was the suggestion that the cut scene would be different if you selected different Pokemon, so maybe that's it. The first one was Giratina right? Maybe this one is for Palkia/Dialga.

Your maybe right, I actually like that one better.

Ahhh I'm so excited! Just thinking of this long journey we've been on. At first we were just looking for hints that maybe there would be an eventual GSC remake, and I wasn't expecting much more than FRLG. But now it looks like more than I ever could have asked for. I try to not usually get overhyped but this game looks so epic, they're doing everything right. Favorite gen being made into the best Pokemon game so far, it's a great feeling, especially with my old cartridges having died out.

Can't wait ^^

I really disliked the fact that over one minute was spent on showcasing the PokéWalker, but I suppose that the Pokémon Company knows what they're doing as far as marketing is concerned.

Yeah. Me too. They could show more epic footage instead of that gimmicky Walker thingy (not to mention that it wasn't anything that we didn't knew before).

On the other hand, I thought that the acknowledgement of Kanto towards the very end was beatifully done, and not because of the new graphics which aren't a priority to me in the least. The last line of text that showed up said "Then the adventure continues...", which to me is a sign of great things to come that weren't in the original games. Remember that the mere inclusion of Kanto in Gold and Silver was a surprise on its own right, but the continued adventure boiled down to little more than having more battles (the Gym Leaders, Silver and most importantly, Red). This time around, the Pokémon Company wants us to know that Kanto will make a return (even though there is a new generation of players who would otherwise be as surprised by it as we were 10 years ago). The real question is what sort of new adventure awaits us, and this is where I expect the remakes will diverge most from the Generation II games.

The GSC-like Kanto quest, though not very long, could be easily labelled as "New Adventure" for advertisement reasons. I think that seeing some kind of bigger plan here is an overhype.

Of course, this is not to say that Johto itself will be devoid of surprises. We know based on previous coverage that there is going to be a story climax preceding the Ho-Oh/Lugia encounter, and I think most of us agree that the Radio Tower event wouldn't be called that. Furthermore, the narrator in the video says "The curtain to this endless story will now lift. Follow the Legendary Pokémon to a new adventure!", which to me suggests yet again that Ho-Oh and Lugia will play an important role in the story.

I'm okay with everything unless the story has Rockets chasing the birds... If it has, I'll be really mad.

Um what?

Speak for yourself. I've experienced both RBGY and GSC, and I also knew Kanto was intended to be in these games before it was even confirmed because of LOGIC, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the Kanto clips and find it special.

Huh? I wasn't at all insinuating that those of us who already expected Kanto to be in the games wouldn't have found the teaser at the end special. I even stated in my second paragraph that, although some fans like Ciaranite may not have found it all that special (which I totally understand due to different tastes etc), others of us who have already experienced it in RBY and GSC like me and your good self will have "rejoiced" at the footage. I know I did. :D And yes, just like you I knew that it would be included because I used logic.

I don't get why you thought I said players of the 1st and 2nd wouldn't have found it special when I said I enjoyed the Kanto footage myself (and I too have been a Pokemon gamer since Red and Blue).

EDIT: Ok, i've just realised how you may have misinterpreted my earlier post, Raine. While I did say that Ciaranite may not have found it all that special cos he knew that Kanto would be included, I wasn't applying that rule to everyone who has experienced Kanto in GSC. I even went on to say in my second paragraph (which you didn't quote by the way hehe) that more seasoned gamers like me, Unown Lord and yourself will have felt nostalgic about the footage and Route 1 music. Just clearing it up for you my friend.:)

Lol, it's quite alright Raine. I knew you didn't mean it :). I guess everyone's just really excited to see Kanto in DS graphics for the first time xD. The Route 1 music nearly brought a nostalgic tear to my eye. I like how it sounds truer to the RBY/GSC rendition than the FRLG one.

@ Magmaster 12 and Raine:

I don't think that it's the time to be worrying about levels yet. I mean, the footage for trailers comes from the beta testers. I could imagine that Nintendo gave them copies with different levels or stronger pokemon to not force them to grind or anything. And I doubt that Kanto will be completely filled with low-level pokemon too. It's a little early IMO to be judging this stuff.

Have we figured out if GenIV evolutions of GenII Pokemon will be available pre-E4 yet? I wants my Honchcrow.

I think that the video footage of the pokedex showed some of the pokemon (It was Lapras or Growlithe...) being 5 slots down in the Dex from it's original GSC position. They probably put in some of the Johto Gen IV evolutions. The question is which ones.

OMG, I go away for a few days and miss something AGAIN. Ah well, this looks AWESOME. Pallet Town looks 10000% better than in FRLG. Oh, I want these games so much. I'm even playing GSC now, in response to the 'will you play GSC when HGSS come out?' thread.

I simply cannot wait for this. I am definitely getting the Japanese version. Only thing to decide now is which version to get.....

That's jumping the gun a bit. I can't remember for sure, but there are two slots between Togetic and Ekans in Serebii's HGSS Johto Dex. Back in GS, these slots were filled with Sandshrew and Sandslash. If the same happens this time, Togekiss wouldn't be next to its evolutionary family. Since 4th Gen Pokemon aren't native to Johto and evos and prevos weren't included in FrLg, there's a lot more evidence pointing against than towards.

It's too soon to make any assumptions.

Well, you're probably right about jumping the gun. But some of the slots DID change from what we saw of the Pokedex. I believe that Growlithe was moved 5 slots down from what it was in GSC's Dex. They might not have included Togekiss, but they could have included somehting.

Yes but Serebiis dex was just made that way because of assumptions that it wouldn't change between GSC and HGSS and the ones that were known to be in the places were added and many left out that we didn't know. ANd FR/LG only had: Crobat, Elekid, Blissy and Smoochum for Gen II evo/pre evos of Gen I pokemon but in Gen IV there is: Likiliki, Rhyperior, Togekiss, Cleffa, Whynaut, Azurall, Munchlax, Electivire, Mamoswine, tangrowth, Yanmega, Ambipom Leafeon, Glaceon (last two I can see being National Dex only) but for 5 pokemon on Johto dex added I can see; Togekiss, Ambipon, Whynaut, Azurall and Likiliky or Mamoswine

Why should Cleffa be added? It's a Johto-pokémon already. But Ambipom works. I doubt it'll be Togekiss, since there's no room for it, as we've seen. Azurill and Wynaut can work, so can Lickylicky, but it's probably just the five that evolve through learning moves, Yanma, Piloswine, Lickitung, Aipom and Tangela. All of these are before Lapras (the poké that moved five places, Growlithe moved two), and considering Aipom and Yanma is before Growlithe, that moved two places backwards does certainly ring a bell. But that doesn't mean it's going to be like that. But it's certainly one of the best answers based on what we've got now. Or simply they decided to move Lapras.
