Is that why the anime has confirmed that Palmer is Sinnoh's Tower Tycoon, rather than Johto's? That certainly wouldn't make it easier for HGSS players to fathom his presence in Johto.

Either way, they have made it so the anime only has to do 1 not 2, it will either be in Johto or in Sinnoh. Personally, I think it will be set in Johto, just like it is in HGSS, but that is my personal opinion of what will happen and nothing more, I'm not stating it as fact.

For anime, I don't mind what happens, just as long as the storyline is good and we see some of Ash older pokemon if there is a BF arc. Just don't like why the region they are in gets screwed over in terms of a BF.

Damn, that's disappointing. I hope they at least have new Frontier Brains, or at the VERY least new teams.
I could never figure out why Dahlia used Pokemon subsceptible to burns, paralysis and poison..........
That's my favourite part of the game ruined, then.

Does this stop the argument that Game Freak don't think for the anime?
If there was a 2nd BF, it would be hard for the anime to explain, so they put in the same one, so the anime only had to do one Bf.

I'm disapointed that it's the same one, but a little relieved that it has put an end to the argument "the games have nothing to do with the anime" well they are catering for the anime right now.

What the hell are you talking about? The games are not catering to the anime in any fashion. The show is intended for little kids, none of whom are going to thinkthere is some sort of plot hole because Johto has a seperate battle frontier. They kept
the platinum frontier, as UL said, to keep compatibility with Platinum.

I'm a little pissed. It seems like that issue could have been solved. I would have likedto be at least excited for the Battle Frontier. I'd rather they even ported the Emerald Frontier, it sucks we now have to face the exact same one we just all got burned out on.

That's what I'm saying. Why the hell would Platinum players (the ones who play purely for competitive and not for story) bother buying this? If they're like me (who do both) they might be tempted, but if they didnt want HGSS for nostalgia, Nintendo might be losing a lot of customers.

I'm sure there's something we don't know about, after thinking about it. I can't believe Game Freak would be so stupid. I'm sure they'll be something to entice Platinum players.

you misunderstand. They cant do a BF in Sinnoh, followed immediately by a BF in Johto. So this way, they only have to do one Bf in the anime.

...There's plenty of material in HGSS, and the Battle Frontier is just one feature.

I'll disappointed if the exact same BF from Platinum is reused, but it defintely won't prevent me from buying the game. Plus, who says they couldn't "spice" up the BF, change it a little, and make it a little more difficult.

I doubt there's anyone who would solely buy the game for the Battle Frontier.

EDIT-I got an idea from the DPPt's character's Dad thread, what if the Frontier Brain for the BF is Lucas/Dawn's father to parallel Palmer?

Also the gts is west of goldenrod. And the frontier does not surprise me. But hey whatever Jasmine's gym. i believe that is just her alter area thingy and that you have to do a puzzle or two.

just something I noticed

basis_game_gameimg3.jpg

dunno if this pic is new or not, but unless the developers neglected to capture any Pokemon for a while, this would suggest that one of the Youngsters near the beginning gets an increase in party count.

Can anybody translate the text so we can figure out which Youngster it is?

He's not any of the Youngsters from the beginning.

That's Youngster Kouta (Samuel) from Route 34.

He has: Rattata (Lv. 7), Sandshrew (Lv. 10) and two Spearows (both Lv. 8).

Seems like Beta Testers don't bother catching Pokemon.

And why is it that the anime absolutely has to do the Johto frontier? It's a simply ridiculous notion that they would screw us over with an old frontier just to appease borderline crazy anime fanatics. The anime can do whatever they want, they are not obligated to go to both frontiers, so stop pretending like that is a legit reason.

A part of me still believes that the interview was about the anime, which will show the same Brains from Platinum but in Johto Return Saga... But it seems to be a naive part of me.

It's really sad that caring about anime and/or useless Vs. Recorder compatibility is a reason to screw us over with the exactly same Frontier again.

I think that what just happened is the worst-case scenario. It's even worse than including Battle Tower solely. If they included just BT, they would always put some new rules to it and add a New Brain, not to mention that it would be more faithful to the original, at least. Having the same Frontier is an alternation that doesn't bring anything new. It's completely useless.

If I want to Battle in Platinum BF with my Johto Team, I can TRADE IT OVER TO PLATINUM, really!

The tower is the GTS? Well that makes sense.

Jasmines got a simple gym? Great.

The Battle Frontier is the same...

Whoa. Maybe same facilities, but guys, honestly, I don't think we're getting the same brains. But if we do, is it really going to be that bad?

...It's not THAT bad.

Plus, all we know is that the Battle Hall is returning, it might not be exactly the same as Platinum's.

I love Palmer and the other Frontier Brains to bits, but not enough to see them again. If they have to include Palmer for some bizzare reason, they need to change his dialouge or it will be a huge Mind Screw.

Palmer: Bravo! I feel inspired in my heart! It brings back a memory of that day long ago... I went out to the lake with your father that day... We were attacked by a wild Pokémon. We fended it off, but I don't recall how..

Gold:...Wait WHAT?!

and

"Hi! My name's Palmer. I remember you from when you were in Twinleaf, <player>. You were always playing with my son <name>, right? You’ve grown up since then, and most impressively, too! So, I'd like you to show me. Show me the bond you’ve built with your Pokémon. Show me the skill you've acquired as a Trainer!"

I thought the Battle Frontier art was speculated to be a placeholder? Has the Sinnoh BF facilities been confirmed as definately returning?
