Hmm... oh well. Mildly annoying considering the fandom's obsession with continuity and timelines of games, as this doesn't help. In terms of gameplay, however, Battle Frontier is not the most important part of the game.

And why is it that the anime absolutely has to do the Johto frontier? It's a simply ridiculous notion that they would screw us over with an old frontier just to appease borderline crazy anime fanatics. The anime can do whatever they want, they are not obligated to go to both frontiers, so stop pretending like that is a legit reason.

Actually, they try and stay true to the games more now.

I thought the Battle Frontier art was speculated to be a placeholder? Has the Sinnoh BF facilities been confirmed as definately returning?

No one explicitly said so, but we saw the Battle Hall on the website, so it's likely.

It's unlikely, but the Battle Hall could just be a returning Facility like the Factory probably will be.

I second this. Like i've said elsewhere, i've showered eternal praise on Game Freak for literally every aspect of these games (the vast aesthetic improvements, retention of some of GSC's most redeeming features etc), but i'll be extremely disappointed if they do take this shortcut with the Battle Frontier. As you say, it'd be bad for continuity's sake, and I was honestly relishing the prospect of some new and innovative facilities in this Frontier, along with some brand new Brains. Alas, it's not to be. It's especially disappointing though as it makes Platinum slightly redundant.

That said, i'm really impressed with Game Freak's work on these games as a whole. Many of us have been awaiting these remakes for years now, so I am really grateful that GF have responded to customer demand in the highest order. :) The Battle Frontier will probably be the biggest disappointment if everything from Platinum's one is copied over.

Ah, the Sinnoh BF returns.

Kinda lazy, but I'll excuse it with a good Kanto.

Look on the bright side. It's not a BAD Frontier.

you misunderstand. They cant do a BF in Sinnoh, followed immediately by a BF in Johto. So this way, they only have to do one Bf in the anime.

I don't think it matters to the anime. Especially with the suggestion that Ash would do the Sinnoh BF before the Sinnoh League, and whatever happens with the Johto BF happens after the league.

Plus I don't see how it makes sense in-anime that Ash would only do one BF. I think Ash would challenge any BF he heard of, so in that case why would it matter, once he beats Palmer, Palmer tells him of the Johto BF, and he heads on over there.

And if a BF one after another is really a problem, they could create a 20 episode transitioning arc, maybe something along the lines that Ash goes to Johto for some other reason only to find Johto has a BF as well and so why would he refuse the challenge?
---------------------------------

I really think that if the frontier brains are the same it's mostly due to compatibility with Platinum and the VS Recoder rather than because of the anime. Because coming up with an anime solution for two BF released in the same gen is much easier to solve for than a game compatibility solution.

I have patched the whole in the continuity. The Frontier is the same, owned by the same people as the one in Sinnoh, with the same facilites, and when a Trainer is doing well, that's when the Brain gets called and decides to visit the Froniter, like, in Platinum, you see Dahlia appear at the bottom, and just walk in. Maybe she's heard the player is doing well so came to challenge him, then she might stick around for a bit, until someone is doing well in the Johto one when she will leave and go there. So the Brains are in charge of their facility in both regions, and have to travel between the two.

Meh. I don't want Sinnoh's Frontier, but I haven't played it, so I can't really complain.

And on the Battle Brains, it doesn't matter that much if they're used again or not. I mean, all it really comes down to is a couple extra sprites and some text.

Amazing how one person thinks positive and the rest assume the worst.

Hey, he wasn't the only person to think that the Battle Hall could simply be returning. xD

Maybe we could encounter Lucas/Dawn if we travel to the Fight Area.

And artworks.

Also, Battle Frontier is a good place to cast some familliar characters as Brains. That would certainly do well in a remake...

I think that there are grounds to assume the worst because the official HGSS site contains official art of a replica of Sinnoh's Frontier. I'd suggest it's too much of a stretch to believe that the Battle Hall is the only returning facility taking this into consideration.

Thinking about it though, I wouldn't be too distressed if the Platinum Frontier does return, as the Battle Frontier isn't exactly my scene anyway. I guess it'd just be cool to have a new one with new facilities for the sake of completion.

Let's see what kind of Frontier Brains they can come up with.

Battle Tower: Leaf or someone completely different.

Battle Castle: A Prince type of guy or a King and Queen duo.

Battle Factory: A female technician?

Battle Stage: Famous celeb? Singer/actor? A magician?

Battle Roulette: No idea.

As long as they at least fix the BP, or make it so you get more BP. I mean seriously 10 Battle Hall matches for a measly 1 Battle Point.

Same with the arcade. I don't care if there are other methods to getting more BP in those facilities, it takes too long otherwise. With the hall you have to amass a record to get a lot of BP, and for the Arcade you have to be lucky enough to run into BP "roulette" square.

Can't see them doing that. I hate it too, but the BF is meant to be hard. Like the Rackemup record person says in Platinum, BP is supposed to be harder to obtain than money.

I watch the TV in platinum more often than i should, lol. XD

Even so, 1 measly point is too little, of course I'm not talking about 10 BP every seven people, but 2-3 at the minimum. I mean beating the Fronter Brains is really the only way to earn a lot of BP.

And it's also the fact that everything costs to much, I mean why would a certain item cost 80 BP without any easy way to get that much BP? I mean couldn't they at least make it so 100,000 Pokedollar lets you buy 1 BP (or if that's too little max money for 1 BP)? Especially since the vitamins cost only one BP. I mean if normally they 9800 that would mean (TM) Earthquake is roughly 784000 Pokedollars. That's a lot for one TM. Yes it may supposed to be hard, but that's not hard that's just Tedious.

Hold on, I may be getting the games mixed up with something else, but wasn't there a Never mind that was Brawl. But it would be neat if they allowed you to bet BP so you gain BP.
