ttue, but seriously, does it really matter that much that the BF is kept the same? There was never more than one BF in a generation of main games before, so they decided not change it this time and only keep the same BF. I happened to like the Platinum one anyway so whats the harm in having it the same? Its not part of the main storyline so it does not affect anything really, but I had my theory and wanted to say it, we don't even know if the Platinum brains are used, and if they are, my theory would stand I think. so now lets move on.

I agree with Maxim, compatibility<Laziness.

But still,
Cool Features > Compatibility

Compatibility also shouldn't be the excuse to screw game up...

You know, we might not get Kurt's Balls because of compatibility (as we all know that they aren't available in DPPt). But we did get them, so that means that Compatibility also isn't GF's main priority... So, why are we getting recycled Battle Frontier, then?

I guess that GF doesn't have always the same principles. I guess that when they were programming BF, they thought mainly about compatibility, while when they were programming items, they didn't care about it as much...

you know, we really don't KNOW if it's a recycled BF. One building being the same doesn't really mean two whole facilities are alike.

For all we know they could simply change Kurts balls to normal pokeballs when a pokemon thats been caught in one is traded to D/P/Pt and like the grecious orb, remove them when a pokemon is traded while holding one.

Your right, I just assumed with what people were saying, the whole BF was going to be the same, what with the same artwork being there as well.

Once again: Compatibility has obviously been figured out. Not much of a point to speculating about it.

Speaking of compatibility, Poké Beach says the new HGSS site confirms that it will have a Pal Park. But I can't really see it anywhere on it so I'm not sure.

It says it's compatible, but doesn't mention a Pal Park.

This just keeps on getting better and better.

So Time Capsule now has to be in. But if it is the TC does that mean you can just trade normally instead of capturing the Pokémon again? That would be much better.

Well, I just hope if its a Time capsule, its just a direct transfer rather than going through all that hassle of trading.

No. It doesn't mean you can trade with GBA games, it means you can transfer Pokémon from them via the TC. They'll change its wasy of working, but since the main purpose is the same, it's still the Time Capsule.

I just realized that if the Time Capsule is in, then that would officially confirm that RSE is contemporary with FrLg.

I know, many people have assumed this for the longest time because you can trade between the two regions without issue, but you can also trade to Colosseum/XD which take place several years after GSC, so that's wasn't a very solid reason.

If the Time Capsule is in, we'd get official confirmation of the timeline, which would be awesome

^I don't agree. It would be a new hint, but not the definitive proof. Between FRLG and HGSS there's a 3-year period, so RSE might fall somewhere in between (one or two years after FRLG).

Or the future, since it is a Time capsule.

This. Just have it transfer my Pokemon directly into the PC and I'd be happy. Things would be so much simpler that way.

Well yeah, but Bill described it as only being able to trade to the past. I can see them retconning it though. But for now, I'll go by what the GSC Time Capsule could do.

@Veggie: Of course. I never expected Brendan/May and Red/Leaf to go through their respective adventures at the exact same time, but what I'm saying is that it would finally clear up Hoenn's place in the timeline. It happened before HGSS/DPPt and in or around the same time as FrLg

Yes, trade to the past, that's why the future trainers in the RSE timeline use the time capsule to trade to the past to GSC :p

in FR/LG you have to get a ruby and Sapphire to get the network center to work on one island. Once done you can trade with Hoenn RSE with no mention of any time difference, so that would most likely mean RSE takes place at the same time or around the same time as FR/LG as does D/P/Pt and GSC. These games are set 3 years in future of FR/LG and RSE.

I thought Colosseum took place during RBGYFRLGRSE or Colo took place before then and XD occurred during RBGYFRLGRSE?

An official confirmation would be great, but I sorta doubt it. It might not be the Time Capsule, it might be something completely different. It could be a replacement that's similar, but doesn't allow you to "trade with the past".

Johto is the most awesome region! Oh, and the nintendo version has 2 EXTRA ISLANDS! If you go on Bulbapedia, I'm sure you could find it somewhere. I found out about it there. ^__^
