I don't understand why people say "Pokémon Sunday wasn't that great" every week.

Back in May, we jumped for joy at any snippet of gameplay or music we could get our hands on - remember the Sunday when all we saw was the trainer walking around the outside of Slowpoke Well and picking a starter?

Exactly. :) If we rewind back to April 2009, I believe that about 90% (or perhaps slightly less) of the Pokemon fanbase were unaware of the show itself. I had personally known about it since about 2006 but that was because of its preview of the D/P anime series after AG had finished. I think this sort of sets the standards of the show to be honest - a nice show that compliments the franchise well by giving the Japanese fandom snippets of information relevant to what The Pokemon Company wants to be promoted. That's why many hadn't heard of Pokemon Sunday before May 09.

I reckon the nature of the HG/SS coverage since it's announcement (i.e. snippets of information in each CoroCoro issue and little else) has really brought out the impatience in people. The fact that Pokemon Sunday itself was the first source to provide us info on the games probably meant that fans began to put too much fath in it to give us extensive information each week when, in reality, it is only meant to serve to relay what we already know about (or on the most part). The show wasn't high profile to non-Japanese fans before HG/SS, and I believe that many will forget its existence after the craze is over until the next big game scoop is revealed.

Everything (or mostly) that Sunday shows is gameplay. What's wrong with seeing gameplay? Most of what we have is screenshots.

Is their going to be the lottery thing in HG/SS like in D/P/Pt with the Cleafairy and stuff?

Do you mean a Game Corner possibly?

Meh. Being European, I know I won't get the next game corner. Unless I import the US version - will that work with my Euro PBR, Leafgreen, Emerald, Platinum etc?

I hope they have some decent prizes this time. Wobbufet?! Cubone was OK, as was Abra, but not Wobbufet. DPP's TMs were really good ones, so I hope HGSS matches them.

I'd pay any amount of money if I could get Larvitar early on. But I doubt it.

Talking of which, Larvitar (or whatever rare Pokemon they have, if any) will undoubtedly be something like 9,999 coins. Great. That'll take weeks if the system is like Platinums.

I'm almost starting to think the idea behind the Game Corner might just get trashed. Europe's banned the actual games and it's like people would complain if the Game Corner was taken out, since the prizes would then come in a different, more enjoyable fashion.

Well, Dratinin was after all available early on, but then again, you could find it wild in Johto too. I doubt Larvitar would be that expensive, it's just to look at the price for Dratini in GS and FRLG. Hope they have both, actually.

Exactly. :]

I've known about Sunday since about 2004 only because it replaced the timeslot held by Hōsō, which played many of the special episodes previously. Had it not been for Hōsō, I probably wouldn't had known about it until 2006 either.

Honestly, I'd love a clip of the trainer walking around Ecruteak for five seconds if I got to hear some music too. :]

I'd like the slot machines to stay.

If Europe has a problem with them, let them deal with it. Everyone else in the world realizes it's harmless fun.

Besides, what they did to the game corner in Platinum was a horrible cop-out. I don't want to have to "find" small amounts of coins once a day when I can play one slot machine and win thousands of coins in one go.

What's with Europe objecting over the stupidest things lately? They told Microsoft to remove IE from Windows (which isn't even possible. If you took out IE completely, Windows wouldn't work), which basically leaves a new computer without a Web browser (unless the OEM includes one.)

And now they're removing the slots? Why all of a sudden? Slots have been in the Pokemon games since Gen I.

You mate, are cruising for a bruising.

Seriously, the culprit to blame is most likely Germany. I can't be arsed to go look up the shooting media name.

Anyway, I would like Houndour, Murkrow and Slugma to be catchable earlier on in the game.

It's called giving too much power to the European Union. WE WANT OUT.

Hopefully, they don't point a gun at you and say "if you insist" (Sorry, that was meant to be a Batman Beyond reference).

Well, as much as I am for fans trying to influence the franchise as long as it directly benefits both the series and mankind, I definitely wouldn't think that the Japanese removing the Game Corner just because of a law passed in Europe that prohibits Gambling is a good idea. I mean, not only is it not a good idea to do that in a remake, but it's been a long standing tradition in Pokemon. I mean, I can imagine the European version having it completely wiped off the map, but to not include it even in the Japanese version?
