Do you battle Eusine? Hmm... but maybe the Rocket Executives will have the banner. I'm pretty sure the Galactic Commanders have banners. But, there are more Executives than there are Commanders, and each Commander is unique. All the male and female Executives look the same.

In Platinum, VS Banners were limited to Gym Leaders, Elite Four and Frontier Brains. Villains haven't got them. And Galactic Commanders didn't even get animated sprites.

Seems that they improved it for HGSS, by putting Banners for major characters also.

The character that should (in my opinion) get banners: Johto Gym Leaders, Elite Four, Kanto Gym Leaders, Frontier Brains (*cough*new*cough*ones*cough*), Hibiki/Kotone (in linked Battles, guess they'll use the same sprites as we've seen in the intro), Rival, Rocket Executives, Kimono Girls (if they look different), Eusine, Karate King Kiyo (why not? he's a Gym Leader... somewhat), Cal (if he appears), Red.

I personally hope the sprite of Silver with his arm outstretched is beta, the one with his hands in his pockets is much more him. And it suits him having a small, bored animation. That's who he is. He doesn't jump around.

I agree with Maxim about the banners/animations, but I don't think that many characters will get them. Never know though....

I have to say that I found those choices to be out of place. Those characters were neither a challenge nor were they important to the story in any way. Let's not give them any more attention than they deserve.

Out of Frontier Brains, only Palmer had plot role.

I don't see the harm of giving them VS Banners, as they are kind of Bosses as well.

But I dunno... Knowing GF, they will probably not give them their love.

I thought of banner animations for the Johto leaders:
Falkner-Feathers!
Bugsy-Spider String...
Whitney-Uh...welll...confetti?
Morty-Spirits
Chuck-Flaming fists of Fury!
Jasmine-A slick steel look no stupid prints.
Pryce-An icy gloss look. Like Jasmine awesome
Clair-A dragon spurting fire!
Now then on the music connection between the mysterious broadcast of ruins an alph and Arceus' theme. What if the Pokemon statue is Arceus because well it is the Pokemon the Unown created to protect the world? Like Arceus is the alpha Pokemon but before that Unown.

I like the banner ideas :)
Hmmm, I guess your idea about Ruins of Alph sounds cool. What I'd like would be if the Unown were mentioned to be like Arceus, as if they were made from it. Kind of like it's babies or something...

What if the Pokemon statue is Arceus
As I've said many times before, the statue isn't based on Arceus any more than it is based on Suicune. If it were supposed to be Arceus, Game Freak wouldn't pass up the chance to actually make it look somewhat similar to Arceus, which they did not even though Arceus is no longer a secret. The first video that showed us the Shinto Ruins also gave us a peek into what is almost undoubtedly the DS rendition of the statues. Suffice to say, the statues are no longer generic, and whatever creatures they represent are clearly not quadrupled.

Conveniently enough, that video is only available in low quality now (see at 1:36). Here's a particularly blurry screenshot, which should be enough:

because well it is the Pokemon the Unown created to protect the world?
I think, too, that the Unown had lived in chaos before the universe was created. The creation of Arceus' egg was their doing, as implied by their involvement in the creation of the Dragon trio's eggs.

But if only Unown inhabited the chaos that preceded the universe, what would the world have to be protected from? The answer is obviously not Arceus, but the Fist and Meadow Plates do provide us a hint: “The power of defeated giants infuses this Plate.” Now, the Fighting and Grass types most likely don't have any connection to the text, as evidenced by the Plates whose text is in reference to the Dragon and Lake trios (Zap, Toxic, Dread and Iron). Likewise, the plural form giants might not have been intended by Game Freak, since Japanese doesn't have that distinction. That said, just who are these giants?

I firmly believe that the giants, or quite possibly just one giant, are the Pokémon depicted in the Ruins of Alph and Shinto Ruins. The Unown created Arceus for the purpose of overcoming the chaos induced by these giants, allowing for the creation of the world. What any of these Pokémon have been doing since the dawn of the universe is a mystery, but I suspect that Arceus fulfilled its purpose as early as then and that the Unown's connection to Suicune (if not Ho-Oh, as well) has been more meaningful in recent history.

Couldn't it be some random holy statue or a terrible attempt at making it look like Arceus?

A lot of the statues in Pokemon look nothing like what they're supposed to resemble.

They created an entire new location just for an event centered around Arceus. There is little excuse for not at least making the statue quadrupled.

Such as? The Generation II Bellsprout and Persian statues were about as accurate as possible. More recently, the Eterna City statue was obviously a meshing of Dialga and Palkia, as was the the Snowpoint Temple statue a representation of all four Regis.

If you look at those statue things its definitely something on legs. Or not. But what if it is looking like an entirely new Pokemon which would be a 5th gen pokemon? That not only is a legendary but the legendary. The giants leader. Pondering and more pondering later...

While I agree with your theory Unkown Lord, is it not strange that the Unkown could exist in such a chaotic pre-universe if they are said to be be weak. Maybe it is something like the scientific theories going on right now about how the laws of nature slowly shift overtime, or maybe it is just because the unkown when in large numbers are known to become powerful. My problem with this is that since these giants probably exist/existed, then what does that mean to the Pokemon universe? What is it's significance besides providing an interesting back story? Because if the unkown are more concerned about the interaction between humans nature and Pokemon now, it can be inferred that these giants are no longer a problem.

Wow. Unown Lord is so obsessed with his favorite Pokemon he wants them to retcon them into being God.

Now allow me to argue about how my favorite Pokemon, Snorlax, created the Earth in seven days and overcame a gigantic dragon that he cut in two to create the heaven and the earth and that's why he's forever tired and sleepy.

How many times have we brought up this topic with the same results? It's getting tired by this point. Wer'e only 11 days ahead of the release, I suggest it's time to be a little patient and wait.

So, what to talk about now?
The BF is the same as in Platinum... oh, wait.
The Notched-Ear Pichu event..... oh, wait.
Is Soul really KRIS?!?!?!?!..... oh, wait.

:p I'm just saying, if you go by that logic, what will we discuss? That's what the forum's for.

We've already seen Silver's animation. In one of the many recent trailers, we see his animation in the segment that shows him and Route... 29 I think.

I meant, he should have two animations, due to him having two sprites in the originals. The FRLG remakes kept the animation changes. I wonder what Green will look like.

Don't get me wrong. What I meant is that everytime certain points are touched (Kris, UL's hypothesis) we end up fighting each other. My point was not to avoid repeated topics, but to avoid topics that have been discussed ad nauseam and lead into no conclusion but trollish fights.
