I guess they were just doing it to go with the song's flow, but it's odd how they said Ampharos was fucking hard to get... a 3rd stage Pokemon that evolves through level-up (probably the simplest type of evolution there is, with this particular Pokemon needing a level no higher than a 3rd stage starter), and its unevolved form is hardly a chore to capture either (nor is it hard to battle with and levels slowly, like Magikarp). Now if the song mentioned a promo legendary, or something that needs trading and some obscure item (especially Gorebyss and Huntail in generation 3), that would've made more sense.

actually, notice the song said "we added 200 more". That seems like a rough condensing of both generations 2 and 3 (which would be about 235 new Pokemon in total). The point is, the original 150 (or 151) was expanded on.
