Gyarados joins the fray in Pokémon UNITE alongside Holowear themed for the upcoming start of the Chinese Year of the Dragon

The long wait is now over, and Gyarados has finally joined the fray in Pokémon UNITE, being released together with Holowear themed for the Chinese New Year. Initial response from the userbase appears to be largely negative. For once though, these complaints are not for a newly released Pokémon being overpowered, but rather for it being too weak!

Specifically, community negativity has focused on the Pokémon being too weak in its first phase as Magikarp. As of the time of the writing of this post, there has been no response from the Pokémon UNITE developers, via the game's official X (formerly Twitter) account or elsewhere, to these complaints. Nor has there been any news posted about any upcoming patches to potentially resolve these claimed balance issues.

As usual for a new Pokémon's release, a set of Holowear has also been made available. New Years Style: Gyarados is now available in Zirco Trading for 1,050 Aeos Gems. This Holowear features Audio/Visual FX for Movement, and is available for a limited time until March 1st.
