Gym Discussion/Speculation

3 gyms are confirmed. The may leak from pokebeach mentioned bug being first, which is correct, and thus the rest of the gyms that it had, fairy and fighting, as 2nd and 4th respectively are likely also correct. In January the first trailer had this big indoor tree that screamed grass gym. That' what I'm speculating on, and I don't see how that's not clear, as its 7 months worth of info.

that giant tree could be a fairy gym bc dont most fairies live in trees?

I'm guessing that Grant is Rock and Clemont is electric. If you look at the background colours on the official website. Note that Viola's is green and she's confirmed as a bug-type.

Grant has rocks in his hair and one of his passions include rock climbing, I have a feeling his gym is a cave, too.

So the Sableye evo is part Rock, too?

Fair enough. The Lumiose Tower is also the only structure tall enough to hold it. There still would be six gyms confirmed/leaked though. After the tree was that funky gym with the walls, which would make it psychic. Something tells me flying for sure with either dark water or ice the final one.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but did anyone notice that Grant's name sounds similar to the word granite? So yeah, Grant is almost certainly Rock type.

^It also keeps the Pomegranite reference more or less intact, the same as Clement's keep the lemon reference, which is downright brilliant translation work IMO. Go English translation team!

The tree that people were talking about earlier seems to be outside; you can see a river and a flowerbed. Also the lack of trainers makes me think it isn't a gym.

What can it be then? It was shown amongst 2 other gyms don't forget. And the river and flowerbed can be artificial. More importantly, it makes the case of it being the fairy gym even stronger. The river going into Lumiose could feed into the gym. Not to mention if such a tree existed outside it would be on the map.
In fact I do believe we've danced this dance onlyta week ago. I still want an answer to my question.

At least, I can speculate that it´s the only notable tree in Mountain Kalos. Yeah, the one in the southeast. It even has two rivers running near it.

There's a giant tree in north most town and weird bush thing in south-east.

You just want to dance with me for longer. Admit it.

The northmost town has a satelite disk not a tree. And I would admit that the southeast one could fit, if it wasn't, like you said, shrub like. I get that it could be outside, but I kinda want it to be a gym cause it would be cool to get something so different.

I just hope there's no Ice or Dragon gym and that there's a Dark gym.

Dragon is one of those types rare gym types, doubt they're gonna give us another one.
Dark might just happen though. I was thinking about the box legends and the gyms in each region, and bar Johto and Kanto, the legendary Pokemon types all have a gym or E4 specialist.

I don't recall a ground-type gym leader or Elite 4 member in Hoenn for Groudon. And of course, there was no ice gym leader by the time Kyurem became a mascot, and the fire gym leader disappeared as well.

Time ago I posted in another thread this Gyms (not in this order) :

" *The gyms to be: Rock-f, Psychic-m, Steel-f, Bug-f,Ice-m, New type(if there would be the rumored one)-both/double,Fighting-m and DARK TYPE GYM-m or f.
*A gym wich battle in Double battlles.
*The elite four to be: Water (male) , Grass (female) , Fire(female) , Flying(male).
*The Champion (male) : Various/The new type/Ghost/Dark "
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now what I think :

So I guessed about the Bug Type and having a female Bug type gym leader too.

We have:

1) Viola-Bug Gym
2) The new gym leader from Corocoro, Grant.
I first thought about him to be a Dark Type Specialist, but there are some details that made me change my mind and treat him as a Rock type gym leader.
First, if you look his hair, they look like some rock, and that little balls with diff colors may be considered as some jewelleries, like that in Clay's gym in B2W2.
Also his name Grant-Is similar to Granite. While searching in google for Granite I found this -Granite, Rock type--Granite is a common type of intrusive, felsic, igneous rock which is granular and phaneritic in texture. This rock consists mainly of quartz, mica, and feldspar.
So he is in my opinion a Rock Type Gym Leader. Which completes another time my Speculation(only that I speculated him to be female.).
3) We have Clemont , the another Corocoro Revieled gym leader.
He seems to be a technician, passionate about technology and inventions. His colors of his appearance make me think of having again an Electric Type Gym.
But if you look carefully there is a relation in all the 5 region's gym. We had an Electric Gym in Gen.3, Volkner in Gen.4 and Elessa in Gen.5. So I doubt havin another Electric Type Gym. In my opinion He specialises in Psychic Type.

And finally my GYMs for the Kalos region and this 6th Gen. should be (not in this order) :

1) Viola-Bug
2) Grant-Rock
3) Clemont-Psychic
4) Female Leader-Steel
5) Male Leader-Ice
6) Female Leader-Fairy Type/ or another one; maybe poison-male leader.
7) Male Leader-Fighting Type
8) Both Male and Female Leaders-DARK TYPE/ Double battles.

Elite Four: (the four important elemental elements of life??)
1)Water (male)
2)Grass (female)
3)Fire(female)
4)Flying(male).

5)The Champion (male) : Various/Fairy type-if it will not be a gym/Ghost"

Honest mistake, I keep forgetting its not fire. Ice still existed in gen 5 so it works. And you can argue with gen 3 that flint is fire and Flannery is more of a volcano gym, which fits in with groundon. A big stretch I know, but still.

If "it's a stretch" just so you can ignore concrete evidence to fit your theory, then I can keep the weaker evidence that Kyurem was never a game mascot at the same time an Ice gym was in commission in Unova. And if you're going to stretch it that far, technically the box legendaries of Gen II were represented by all gym leaders and Elite 4 members between the two regions (which, of course it would be).

Fine then. It was a flimsy attempt at best, so why don't we just drop it.
