Or maybe all after beating elite four? Interesting if all E4 members will use it or D-max?
I was going to suggest the E4 would use Gigantamax, but as Knightwolf09 said, there might not be a traditional E4. If there was, I'd imagine they'd all use Gigantamax.

If the E4 ends up only being an assortment of trainers, I could see them using a mix of Dynamax and Gigantamax.

Well if the official site is correct, there might not be an actual elite 4. More so 4 tournament contenders
If that's the case then I think that all the rivals (including Hop) specialize in specific types.

I think the opposite, actually. And it’ll be a disappointment if they went for the tournament-style league and still maintained the old monotype element.

I 100% agree. They have never had mono-type Rivals before.

However, we can't say that something can't happen because it never happened before.

Sure, but i just doubt they do it, since we have mono type Gym leaders already and a mono type rival is a walk-over rival imo, since you know which typings he will bring based on the starter pick.

I think that a new Gym Leader will most likely be revealed tomorrow.

That’s true. The League itself in SwSh works differently then any League we had in the games. The problem is that it’ll decrease the difficulty of the games, instead of increasing it if the rivals have all different Pokémon types in their roster.

Well, we didn't get a new Gym Leader revealed yesterday.

Am I the only one that it's not getting a good vibe from the Gym Leaders?
I don't like soccer, I hate all this corporations related to Pkjobs and endorsements, and this certainly contributes to my feeling. I feel that the Gym Leaders seem fake...like hiding some stuff or are part of a bigger plot, kinda like how some Leaders were part of Team Rocket in Adventures (?). They look like corporate puppets.
I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are evil and start facing other GL that do not abide by their goals.

I hope I'm not overlooking something, but the style of the Pokemon League Challenge in this game gives me mad anime vibes and leads me to believe that a traditional E4 might not be present, rather, the tournament structure used in the anime could be adopted instead. If there's 16 competitors at the Pokemon League, all going for Leon's title, that's four battles right there, a top 16 battle, a top 8 battle, a semifinal battle, and a final battle. Perhaps after winning that tournament, you get your battle against Leon. So basically, the Pokemon League is the Battle Dome, at least that's what I think would be ideal. Obviously Bede, Marnie, Hop, and any other notable characters that show up along your journey would be in this tournament bracket, that's what I would hope for, anyways.

Oh, and on the topic of mono-type trainers, there's no way they use these for trainers in that tournament setting. I can guarantee you that. I think they're really pushing for the anime Pokemon League style with these games, and I REALLY like that, I just hope it doesn't fall short of my admittedly high expectations.

It’s already happening as the championship cup.

Some believe that there’ll still be an E4 to face before the Champion, but yeah, it seems unlikely at this point.

I personally like them, based on their looks. I don’t mind the way the sponsorships seem to work in Galar. It is true that it’s more soccer-relared, compared to other team sports (although in Italy at least basketball teams as well are sponsored, to the point that the team’s name is often partially based on the sponsor), but F1 and MotoGP are also heavily sponsored.

I said before that the outfit itself full of sponsors aren’t visually appealing to me, but if there’s a sponsorship system in the game It might be quite interesting, although I can see how it might be disliked by others.

For the gym leaders, I don’t think they might be puppets or evil (none of the ones shown so far look that way to me), but it some/all are and are involved with the plot, I don’t mind that at all. It’s definitely better for me to have them involved in the story, regardless of the role, then not.

I don't think that the Gym Leaders will be evil because that would mean that Ash would have no Gym Leader companions in the anime.

Yeah, it probably is more of a tournament, but I feel they won't abandon the tradtional forumula. My guess is that instead four E4 members, we'll battle maybe some random character just to start things off, Hop, Bede, and Marnie, and then finally Leon. That way we'll have the tradtional system of 4 end game major battles and then the champion.

Even if there’s going to be a gym leaders are evil plot, not all of them will be evil. Or they might just retcon the character slightly. Lusamine was made much more likeable in SM anime and Gladion isn’t a Team Skull member.

Well, it's been awhile since we saw a new Gym Leader revealed, so do you think we will see more of them in future trailers, or will GF keep most of them a secret?

Either way, I'm going to make a bold prediction here and say that the Fairy-type Gym Leader will have pink hair. I think Galar could definitely use some more characters with those anime-style hair colors, and we have yet to see a pink-haired Fairy-type specialist in the series, despite the Fairy type being pretty strongly associated with the color pink.

Well, if I recall correctly, we only know his name, his puzzle and that he's the fourth leader, so no, there's no type given.

EDIT: Maybe someone knows where Kabu's name comes from? That might help guessing what type they use.
