They aren't giving an evolution to something that has possibly over 100 design combos itself, IMO. Same reason Spinda, Furfrou, etc don't evolve.

That and it already has a Gigantamax form, which I'm sure follows the rules of Megas that only final forms or single stage get them.

This isn't the discussion that should be had here. Now, back to the topic. What do you guys expect the types of the other Gyms to be?

I think the remaining gyms will be

Fire or steel version exclusive. - industrial city
Fairy or dark - forest town
Ice - northern snowy town
Dragon - northern midieval town
Normal or Flying - Modern city

I think there may be 2 more sets of version exclusive gyms because the offical website says " Certain towns will have different Gyms "

I take that to mean more than one town not just a town with diffrent names based on the version.

Like bea and allistar it seems only the gym look and leader will be version dependent not the town itself

I think that the Gym in the city up top is Electric, but good point anyways.

Side note i wonder if there is a town hidden in the forest near the players house or its of some other significance story.

As the leak continues to be proven correct time and time again I've been thinking more about the forest city and the alleged Fairy-type Gym Leader Opal.

My first thought was that the area looked a lot like a stereotypical fairy forest, but Champion Cynthia, a member of this board who is from the UK and knows the geographic location references of each area of Galar, said that the forest area is almost certainly based on Sherwood Forest, which is well known for its association with the Robin Hood legend. And as a lot of people have pointed out, the color of the Stadium there is more purple than pink, which hints that it might actually be a Poison-type Gym.

So I'm gonna go ahead and predict that the Gym in the forest city will be another version-dependent Gym, and we'll see a male Poison-type Gym Leader with a Robin Hood motif in Sword (because the Gym in the rocky area in the Galar map is brown & hence Bea's Gym), while Opal will be exclusive to Shield & be a Shakespearian-style actress with a Titania motif. And that's how GameFreak gets that win-win situation as to which shout-outs to make.

So I've been wondering, where does everyone think all of the gyms are supposed to be? Of course we've got Milo, Nessa, Bea/Allister, the purple gym behind Bea/Allister's gym, and the black gym in the ice city. I've also heard people think there will be gyms in the industrial city and the dragon based city, which I can believe.

But where is the 8th gym? I assumed that big area in the north was meant to be the league, but could that also be a gym? Or is there one in perfect view on the map and I'm just blind?

I think that the big city at the top of the map will have a Gym, which I think will probably be Electric-type.

Judging from the Galar map, an Ice and Fairy gyms looks fairly set to appear at least.

The leak did say that the Fairy type gym is a woman named Opal and that the fire type gym leader is Kabu(?). I'm personally hoping for that robin hood motif gym leader that JFrombaugh brought up a few posts upward.

The rumor does not state Kabu's speciality type.
