SwSh Gyms Speculation Thread

Looks like these won't be traditional gyms. There might not even be 8 of them.
It depends what you mean with traditional. I was thinking things could be different in terms of challenges or mechanics involved since the gyms were shown/implied to be stadiums, and the connection between the symbol on the logos and gym’s entrance.

We still have to challenge gyms and beat them to get to the League, and there’s still someone in charge to beat.

As for the number, possibly, but there 5 visible one then map, plus one being almost surely one by the Ohmori’s part of the trailer in the industrial city, and that’s discounting what we might get in the fortified city, and the final one, where a stadium is present already, and there’s a symbol on another building, the same as in the stadiums on the map, except the pink Wembley look-alike.

Here's my predicted Gym Leader list:
Saige (Grass)
Sean (Water)
Cole (Rock)
Tex (Poison)
Ferra (Steel)
Hailey (Ice)
Drakeena (Dragon)
Ellie (Electric)

I'm really hoping the gym in the Manchester (I think? The industrial one) town is fire, and that you can choose what order to challenge that gym, the grass one, and the water one (assuming the port city is water). I'm definitely team "choose your gym order", and it honestly is not hard to code in three different teams depending on how many badges you have.

After that, it kinda looks like ice/dark, rock/ground, and fairy/poison (all three could be either option I think) could be another "choose your own" trio, but I kinda doubt that since it's not as clear as the starter triangle. That'd be awesome, though. Then you have to defeat the dragon one to gain access to the upper map that leads to the final town.... Which probably has the last gym and elite 4.

Unless there's only 7 "gym masters" this time (please no, more is better). Maybe there's an underground gym in an underground section of map? Haha this post has so much wishful thinking.

Here's the bios of my predicted Gym Masters:
Saige (Grass): Saige is a quiet, reserved, young girl. She works at the local garden and she loves nature.
Sean (Water): Sean is a professional swimmer known for his speed. He is one of the fastest swimmers in the Pokemon world.
Ferra (Steel): Ferra is the daughter of a powerful business tycoon, but she does not want to inherit her father's business, wanting to do her own thing instead.
Cole (Rock): Cole is the owner of a massive mine. He is a close friend of Steven Stone in the Hoenn region and he frequently sends him rare stones that he finds in his mine.
Tex (Poison): Tex is a scientist in training. He loves discovering new things and he hopes to become a Pokemon Professor one day.
Hailey (Ice): Hailey is a fashion model who freezes (pun intended) the competition with her eccentric style. She is on the cover of many fashion magazines in the Pokemon world.
Drakeena (Dragon): Drakeena is a princess and heir to the Dragon throne. She became a Gym Master because she does not want to be stuck inside the palace all day.
Ellie (Electric): Ellie is a hyperactive tomboy who has a distaste towards anything feminine.

Sooner or later I think Game Freak can eventually design 2-element gyms, all they need to do is add a few bielemental pokemon.

For example, Grass/Ghost gym that looks like a haunted forest.

So if a gym master has 4 pokemon, it would be Grass, Grass/Ghost, Ghost/Grass, and Ghost.

Then there would be countless gym designs.

i'd like to see theme gyms someday that aren't limited to typing eg. bird gym (blaziken, empoleon, decidueye, etc.)

i'm not sure if it's gonna happen this gen tho..

unless the supposed "grass" gym is "nature" gym instead like a team of forest dwelling mon eg. scolipede, leavanny, trevenant, etc.

That’s going to be even more easier than a single typed gym, since common weakness are even more certain in such a matchup with less options to cover them.

So many people want a Dark-type gym. So we should have one! How could the recently introduced Fairy-type get a Gym before the 20-year-old Dark-type?

I'd like to see a Flying-type Gym Leader, since the only regions that had notable specialists using this type are Johto, Hoenn, Unova and Alola. I'd also like him/her to be a former Sky Trainer,

I am sure that if we ever get a Dark Type Gym, people will still complain it wasn't as good as they expected. XD

I just hope they mix in some gym numbering and E4 types. I am sick of Psychic, Dark, Fighting and Ghost E4 member since they are so freaking overused as E4 types so kudos to Sinnoh, Kalos and Alola to introduce new ones and I hope they at least use some types we haven't seen since generations except for the 4 named ones. We haven't got an Electric type E4 which still annoys me and that for the simple reason that there are 5 Gyms + 1 Trial using the Electric type.

For the gyms, change up the numbering for some types. Ice was mostly the 7th gym, Rock the 1st, Bug always one of the early gyms, Psychic 6th or 7th etc. What's the problem to have Ice as the third or fourth gym? I mean I wouldn't put them as the first but a bit later for sure. We haven't seen a real Fire-Type gym since Gen 3 (and no I doun't count the Striaton gym with Chili as the leader as one), also no Steel type gym since Gen 4 and no freaking Dark gym yet, but Gen 8 may change that.
