Well, that would kill my only one Pokémon challenges since sometimes, at least in the case of Rock gyms, I have to spend time boosting myself to prevent them from OHK'ing me.

Yeah. I don't think that these games will focus too much on sports, especially with the gyms.I certainly hope so.
I am a big soccer fan myself, but I am an even bigger fan of Pokémon. And I don't think these two things (Pokémon and sports) mix too well together. Unless it's for some side activity like Pokeathlon (which is great). But not as a central concept of a Pokémon game.
I like to eat fish, and I like to eat chocolate. I just don't like to mix them
This is off-topic but I think your arguments are flawed. That’s going to be even more easier than a single typed gym, since common weakness are even more certain in such a matchup with less options to cover them.Sooner or later I think Game Freak can eventually design 2-element gyms, all they need to do is add a few bielemental pokemon.
For example, Grass/Ghost gym that looks like a haunted forest.
So if a gym master has 4 pokemon, it would be Grass, Grass/Ghost, Ghost/Grass, and Ghost.
Then there would be countless gym designs.
This is off-topic but I think your arguments are flawed.
1. Yes, some double-elemented pokemon can now have 4x weaknesses, but that's just with some having 4x resistances without having 4x weaknesses.
2. Some double-elemented pokemon have double the weaknesses, but then have double the resistances.
3. Some double-elemented pokemon have most of their weaknesses cancelled, and then can therefore only have few resistances.
4. Your arguments about common weaknesses, but don't forget double-elemented pokemon have double the STABs.
Anyways, going back to my argument. I wasn't implying I wanted a double-elemented gym because it would be easier, or harder. But for the sake of aesthetics.
Yeah. I highly doubt that Gym Leaders would ever specialize in a single type combination.I was not talking about 4x weaknesses but common weaknesses of a Pokemon in that post.
For example:
Gym A- Fire type: has a Fire/Electric, Fire/Flying and a Fire/Water (hypothetical Pokemon). You just cannot sweep this area with a water or ground type.
Gym B: Grass/Ghost, Grass/Ghost, Grass/Ghost. If you have even a single Pokemon strong against this combination you’ll have an easy time here since all the Pokemon here have identical weakness.
Secondary type diversity becomes important when someone specialises in a type, and when the specialisation is in a single type combination it’s lost.
I don't see any place in the game that could be a Fire-type gym.My prediction:
1 - 3: Fire, Water, Grass, free choice in which order you challenge them
4: Ice
5: Ground
6: Fairy
Cant identify any more than that
I don't see any place in the game that could be a Fire-type gym.
That could also be Steel.I was thinking the first big city (not the one near the top, the other, which looks more industrial).
They could always do something different for the first gym. Although, it has to be reasonable.First gym is gonna be either Flying, Rock, Normal or Bug like always, because these are the most easy and doable types for the first gym. I can't see any other type being used as the first gym type. Grass, Fire and water are already a bit to strong.
I know that Cilan, Chili and Cress used Pokemon of those types, but that was only one Pokemon. The rest of the gym was pretty much normal type and you get a monkey as a gift to make it easier to beat them.
I predict normal or flying for the first gym. Normal is a bit overused lately, so I prefer a flying gym and that tower with the pokeball symbol on it in the first (probably) gym city could very well be one.
