SwSh Gyms Speculation Thread

I doubt this will ever happen, since they don't only need to change the lvls, but also the movesets.
Move sets would need to be considered like you say, but this shouldn’t be all that difficult I would have thought. All the data on levels attacks are learned and evolution occurs is in the game already. All they would need to do is override some moves with the Gym Leaders gimmick, TM to be distributed etc.

Not making all Gym order fully open should help make it somewhat easier to implement. If all 8 gyms were interchangeable then it would be hard to pull off I can imagine.

They'll probably have some roads closed off until you get a specific badge. Ever since the announcement of no National Dex, people have been analyzing the in-game footage and noting how lazy Game Freak was in terms of graphics and animation because that was the excuse Masuda made about cutting the National Dex. Would they really be prioritizing gym levels over the important stuff?

If the leak continues to be proven correct (which I think it will be at this point, given how much has already been confirmed) then I'm guessing Opal will end up being kind of like a cross between Valerie & Brycen. I'm curious if there'll end up being something like Pokestar Studios but with Shakespeare-style plays, and Opal will be a star there much like Brycen in the Pokestar Studios movies.

I was really hoping for a male Fairy-type specialist and/or Elite Four member, but oh well...

Also, I'm going to make a prediction and say that Ryuki will turn out to be from Galar, and will be the Dragon-type Gym Leader. Knowing what we now know about the how the Gym Challenge works in Galar with the Stadiums and what he says in the Kantonian Gym in USUM about being from another region & wanting to see other regions' takes on Pokémon Gyms, I'm starting to feel like GameFreak wouldn't have put all that in there without a reason.

I’d be very happy if they did that, simply because it means that Game Freak have put a lot of thought into the Galar region as a whole. Any point where it seems like Game Freak put effort in more than mere aesthetics is welcome in my point of view!

Also light blue ice would be half invisible so I think it means that the ice was reflecting that black color

Silktree said: What about the forest gym? Purple could reference to poison or fairy

Silktree said: What?
An isolated inhabited land in the middle of nowhere

Silktree said: Explain the windows if the gym has nothing to do with the environment.
I didn't say the gym has NOTHING to do with the environment. And what windows?

Btw, I know some people who've theorized that gym leaders will have unique battle themes due to music sounding different in the demo and in the direct with Milo. But I learned that's not the case as the music in Nessa's battle has the same part in the direct. So I think theme we know now is the theme for all gym leaders.

Remember when they thought the Switch would fail hence why they didn't jump on it immediately?
That sounds like the opposite of ambitious to me lol but I don’t remember a time when anyone really thought the Switch would fail tbh.

Also in the interest of remaining on-topic: I’m hoping we don’t get a Fairy-gym this gen if only because I’d rather see a Fairy E4 member instead bc it hasn’t been done yet.

There hasn't been any Normal, Grass or Electric Elite Four members either.

Yup, those would be cool too but we already know that Grass is a gym unfortunately.
could be both. But league member can use more mixed dual types.
Or it could turn out that a gym leader or his relative became a E4 member and left them the gym.

Outside of GS (which is an exception due to its sequel status) they've never had a Gym Leader and Elite 4 member specialize in the same type.
