Speculation Head Canon personalities for the player characters in the main series games

Red is a silent jerk.

Ethan is a clumsy dork.

Brendan is an arrogant-know-nothing-know-it-all.

Lucas is humble but wise.

Hilbert is stern and clever.

X is an asshole.

Sun is actually one of the nicest people on the planet but due to his smile everybody thinks he is a psychopath which makes poor little Sun-kun rather sad.

I tend to see Red as both fairly quiet normally, but also really hotheaded, competitive and maybe a bit aggressive, personally.

I have t h o u g h t s about this subject and an annoying lack of time to write them down lmao.

I've always seen Red as just the quite and reserved type, who just feels kind of overwhelmed with the world around him soetimes, and since he doesn't know of how to handle that, he travels to the top of Mt. Silver to deal with his emotions on his own. The reason why we finally see him in Alola is because he has now reached adulthood (stupid hormones begone!) and is no longer struggling with these problems because he has a great friend in Blue to help him out.

Gold's a Red wannabee, but honestly his personality just doesn't match. He's enthusiastic over everything Pokemon and battling, and looks up to Trainer Red as his hero.

Lyra is just super, super timid who always questions every move she makes and can't really make a decision. Like honestly if the adults in her world had more sense they would not allow her to go on a Pokemon journey.

On the contrary, Crystal has everything figured out. She knows what she wants, and that's greatness. she's fierce, competitive, strong, and kind of aggressive personality wise. Visibly, she'll take a loss, but mentally she will be blaming herself for hours on end after it.

Brendan's a big dork. He loves all things, food, pokemon, and of course, having fun. He's always cracking jokes and playing little trick on people.

May is similar, almost like a twin sister to Brendan. She loves laughing and having a good time. she's a super social person, you'll always see her in the big crowd.

Lucas is stubborn and stern, and a bit of a smarty pants. He's always one step ahead of you. He doesn't want to battle unless it is needed. He's the kind of guy who walks around trainers out on a route to avoid battling them.

Dawn is klutzy, when executing, but like Lucas she's also pretty smart. She's calculating and will always form out an idea beforehand. Often though, something goes wrong in execution, and she struggles to find where her mistake was.

Nate is also a goofball, but he can tone that down in serious situations. He puts up the foogy attitude though to hide his own emotional struggles. He's super gentle and caring around Pokemon.

Rosa is confident and reserved. She loves battle, loves competition, but she'll never outright say that. honestly, she doesn't like talking to people much either. she'll avoid conversations the moment they are sprung up on her.

Calem has an ego problem. Like he is super competitive, and he cant stand a loss, to the point where he won't admit to his own mistakes. But in dangerous situations he'll step forward to protect what he loves, even if he puts his own self in danger.

Serena is pretty innocent, and is very easy to rush into things, not knowing what's coming for her. She's not into the whole having friends and companionship thing, and is used to being treated like a princess. The adjustment to trainer life is hard for her

Sun is cocky, but not to the same extent as Calem. He thinks he can win his battles, but he's sad when he doesn't. He doesn't go on about it for too long though, and he sure enjoys spending time with his friends.

Moon is quite, but not necessarily reserved. She enjoys spending time with others, and she is super overprotective of her friends. She's a great listener too, and will always lend an ear and a shoulder when one of her friends needs to voice their troubles to her.

Melancholic Dawn.

But if I had to go into more detail:

Red- Reserved but very easygoing and friendly.

Ethan- Competitive, hotheaded, but is far from stupid.

May- Somewhat egotistical but is otherwise very social.

Dawn- Opposite of May: modest, patient, and very reserved.

Serena- Intelligent, hardworking, but also has a short temper.

Selene- Similar to Red, but she's a little more focused and analytical.
