Hello, everyone!

Long has Bulbagarden been unapologetically supportive of the LGBTQ+ community. We've decided to go one step further with this, and open up an entire section dedicated to discussing LGBTQ+ topics (named Ho-Oh's Rainbow) and matters that are relevant and important to the community as a trial to gauge interest.

The LGBTQ+ community has, needless to say, endured unnecessary hardship in the world. There are those that are struggling with their identity, there are those that want to talk about it in safe spaces, there are those who want to find like-minded people to share experiences with, or to seek advice. This forum is designed for that purpose. That said, for the safety of the users in this section, we've decided make it semi-private. in other words, it will be an opt-in section that you will be able to adjust in your preferences. Here's a video about it here:

Due to the sensitive nature of the section, there will be zero tolerance for any kind of intolerance or bigotry.

Support & Advice Changes

There's also been changes to Support & Advice as well. In a similar vein to the LGBTQ+ section, the purpose of Support & Advice is for discussion in regards to sensitive matters (struggling mental health, going through real life troubles, things like that). Having each of our members' struggles visible to every registered user by default doesn't seem to do the purpose of this section justice since it doesn't afford much privacy, so we've decided to make this section also semi-private. You can enable viewing the section in your settings, but this should help in users feeling a lot more secure in having fewer eyes on the section so they can feel more open.
